Quote:True, good add.Photobucket has some limited editing tools as well. It can do cropping and basic adjustments.
It should also be mentioned that PB has a size limit of 1024x768 and though that is plenty big for a forum post (800x600 or smaller is even good enough) if you put up something larger to be hosted it will auto reduce it down... while convenient I've found that the image quality is not as good as if I manually reduce the image down in Photoshop myself.

Hey does this include Ninja Run? I tried SS a few times but always respec'd out
of it immediately (lack of vertical was unacceptable). NR on the other hand is awesome.
Either way cool idea for a thread and some nice designs (TimePulse is really exceptional and Zoombie is hilariously awesome).

Quote:Hey she could've dyed it a normal color. Can't be Psygon, she has pink hair
Costume colors are similar tho.
Only costume I knew that looks like that, thought it could've been a 2nd suit or something.

Quote:Hey, even super heroes have to pay bills. And the city sure doesn't pay 'em for busting crime.
anyone remember this?
Hah 2009 was a good year for CoH adds.

Quote:Sure Janus, just hit the "PrtScn" in the upper right of your keyboard to take the shot. Goto your game folder (C: -> Program Files -> City of Heroes. is the default location) and open up the folder call screenshots.Really love the many costume updates I see here, it really is impressive!
I would like to add in pictures of my own main, but sadly I don't know how to take pictures in-game
Could someone please aid me here, so I can share my own costume changes? ^^
The CoH forums won't host the images for you but no worries just get a free hosting site like Photobucket here make an account quick and upload the image from your game folder to it. Then the site will give you a series of unique image links for each pic. Copy the one you want and then come here and paste it the link into your post. Use the image code link ( it will have [IMG] tags at the beginning and end ) if you want to see the picture here or use the direct link one to put a text link to the file.
You can resize and tweak your images before uploading them to PB if you like with any image editing app (like photoshop or if you want a free one "Paint.net" and "GIMP" are good too) if you like as well.
Oh and welcome to art part of the forums.

Quote:Welcome to the arty part of the forums Myriad. Also, Kheldarn, I was wondering about how you got these fun (apparently free) arts? Just by asking via dA, or on the forums here? I'm considering making a separate dA just for CoX things -- (hopefully, mostly free) art commissions but possibly some of my own.
If this is something talked about a lot on the forums, please don't get annoyed. I rarely frequent the forums unless something super serious is happening with the game, or (like today) I'm looking for specific images (got lost for awhile in the Custom Power Icon thread[s]).
Can't speak for Kheldarn but mostly just participation, see and be seen, is all it takes. You don't have to read the whole forums per say (I only go out there when I want to know something about the game as well) but certainly say hi and introduce yourself here in the art section. Looking through artists threads and leaving comments and feedback etc all increase your chances too. There are contests and free giveaways happening all the time (couple going right now) where you can win free art, just keep your eyes peeled.
Finally have a link in your sig to good clear screenshots of your character/s and an entertaining background story/who they would look like in real life doesn't hurt either. Ya never know what will pique an artists interest. Not that I know anything about giving away art either...
LJ and I iz liek cluelesses 'bout dat stuffz.

Honestly Bubba if it were a single event I could see that but this looks to be an ongoing trend.
Also you haven't made a math error in a couple months, if anything that is one area that has much improved. No (just my opinion here but) this looks quite a bit like you wanting things to go a certain way and when they don't you change the either the rules or results around until they do. It's fine if you want to be more inclusive but I really wish you would just declare these sort of things at the outset. All these changes after the fact just kills my desire to strive for the best I can each month when I know you are just going to dilute the result anyway.
My friends and family here following along were all congratulating me on being the only one to have all the
point options open to me (and were offering suggestions for how I should use them) and then suddenly I wasn't anymore.
It's frustrating.
Anyway that's my take on it but the above aside, I think this month's
theme is one of the best thusfar so kudos for that. I look forward to the entries.
P.S. I am aware the Defiance (and the other artists here) worked his butt off
as well and I have been nothing but encouraging and congratulatory to him in that regard.

For adding FSM you, Hyperstrike, win an interwebz!
RAmen.
Is that Psygon delivering a pizza with a side order of mouse? LOL!
Ok I need to get in on this...
-
Really?
Only one person earned the "saved" prize so lets artificially lower the bar?
If you wanted 4 people to have it why didn't you just say so at the beginning i.e.
...the top 4 point earners will get a one use "save" as a bonus...
rather than wait and see who earns it and then fudge the numbers to
get the outcome you wanted anyway? Wouldn't that have worked better?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@DD: Oh hey how did that get loose in here again?
**Ties a leash around DD's style and hands it back**

Annnd this one was on the calendar... not that I wouldn't have remembered it anyway n' stuffz.
Happy Birthday Vyx!
-
Quick get the net guns peeps, we got another lurker decloaking!
Welcome Frosty Femme (that name sounds familiar) take a load off and have a look around.
Oh and where's the fun in drawing straight lines anyway? Curves are where it's at.
Jokes aside I probably couldn't draw a straight line either so don't sweat it, it's not necessary
for most of the kinds of art (background and structures being notable exceptions) you'll run into here.
P.S. They gave the wookie the short chair lol!
-
Left my comment on DA but the pentagram in the eye was a nice touch and I like the fade in on the hair color.
Oh and welcome back... again. -
It doesn't appear to be on the calendar but... Happy Birthday Bobby!
Good to have you kicking around the forums again man.

Quote:Haha that would make a great avatar... do it and see what he says! You can practically hear him thinking "YOU SCHMUCKS" from across the room. It's so tempting to crop the shot and send that image of Synapse's face to the dev to use as his avatar.

Yep Gryphon, what Defiance said. The goal was to put up something people would
like and want to vote for but not have them know who created it.
*Note to self... not a lot of South Park fans on the forums*
Quote:Well you could have just voted for someone other than yourself for once... no one would've ever seen that coming.BAH!! *waves his walker with attached tennis ball feet around angrily* ..ive always voted for myself so that puts me out of the voting this time around as its a dead give away.
Quote:Oh... and CR's piece I guessed right as well (since that discussion is onging atm).
I was doubting... it could have been (for me that is) 4, 6 or 8 and maybe even 7 (as you were talking about 3D-ing earlier, but that also would have made it too easy...)
So.. 4, 6 or 8 it was... and 8 got turned in on the very very last moment... the CR style. So I went with 8. And thát's why I guessed that one right! *giggles*
Yeah I figured posting last would be a giveaway to those who know my on/off hectic schedule usually has
me waiting till the last day then drawing right up until 1 minute before the deadline.
-
Good luck on your challenge Liz, I don't have a tumblr account but I'll lurk/follow along from here.
-
Welcome aboard Mad! I was away from art for about 8 years myself. I was pretty rusty too but I've been back at drawing
(and teaching myself digital art in photoshop) for a year and a half now and seen lots of improvement.
You're off to a great start and it was a good choice to post your stuff here. You'll get some good feedback and encouragement plus I've
found it to be a great motivator... when I got tempted to slack during my drawing challenge it really helped to
know there were people watching and following along and waiting to see more stuff.
With that being said, post MOAR artz nao!
P.S. Before I ever read the text I could see a good
resemblance to MCD in the your first pic. Nice!
-
Synapse giving Positron the facepalm? Bwhahaha priceless!
Like he hasn't been in caught in worse situations before.
-
Love the look of the top hat and that Nemesis staff is just awesome (never
thought I would be complimenting another guy on his staff lol).
Does it actually spin at all or is it fixed in on position?
-
Hmmm clerical error on my part. The Queens Day Off is listed on my DA page as March. The Xllusya piece from March does indeed use the same font but a somewhat different bubble.
That being the case, good catch, I can see what gave it away. I tried to make it different from every piece I'd done before... except that one lol.
Thanks for pointing that out Bubba, I didn't think LD could be that far off so there had to be something I was missing.
-
Quote:Hahahah you really think so? That's funny cuz I tried specifically to use a totally..........CR almost got away with it, but upon a closer look I found a couple of clues he left behind: He used the same chat bubble and font for his March entry! ...............
different look from any I had used before so as not to give it away.
They use a different color, size, bubble shape, bubble tail, a completely different font,
different speech, punctuation... heck they don't even face the same direction!
Quote:........The mask on CR's Carnie looked like a CR drawing, and the frames in general look painterly-over-pencil.....
-
Quote:Lol that was my first thought as well, it's clearly Bobby's style but it can't be him#5. Almost wanted to say LJ, but since he is not in the competition, Henri.
he's not in the contest and ya never know that Henri is pretty crafty.
But then I remembered the rules in this contest... really aren't.
They're kinda more like suggestions, at best.
Heck at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if I was sloughing it out with
Projectionist (WB FunnyFace!), Juggertha and Foo in the finals.
Actually, humor aside, that might be pretty cool.
Quote:.............. (read in best Scooby Doo Old Man taking off the mask - voice) and I would have gotten away with it too, if that rotten Lousy Day hadn't uncovered me!
Once again, I couldn't guess them all without giving my own piece away but most were pretty easy to tell apart.
Lousy Day I think did the best job of hiding his tracks artistically... I almost thought it might be BW at first until I looked closer.
I thought mine was pretty well disguised by using the south park body as a model but LD figured it out pretty quick,
not sure if it was, by process of elimination, the only one left or if because it was the very last piece
submitted (Bubba could've scrambled the posting order if he was being really clever).
...or maybe it was the orange carnie outfit. -
-
That came out real nice Lexi.
You should probably exchange emails with whomever is left you are
doing prizes for or when the cancellation goes through you might have a tricky time getting a hold of them.
