  1. No one stands around for long in PvP. For an Assassin Strike to ever, ever happen with this second range check, it would have to be something large, like an 80-100 yard range, which would pretty much negate the point, right?

    No Assassin Striking people using travel powers? Are you serious? I don't think I ever take my travel power off in the PvP zones...

    With the no one-shot change, this won't be much of a big deal. You're super-speeding straight down a road, coming right at me, I hit BU, and que up AS. By the time it lands, you're 100 yards away, and I have to start hopping that way. If you have any sense about you at all, you've already clicked some Respites, some self-healing, etc. It's not like you didn't have time.

    Yep. Replace all of the "OMG Nerf Stalkers!!!" broadcasts with "OMG U gave me debt! Griever!!1!!" ones, and you have your typical night in Siren's.

    In practice...

    The exploding building logs two hits in the combat log, and if you'll notice two red numbers pop above your head. One hit of ~32K, and another for the same amount.

    The combat tab is not differing different damage types; its two seperate entries.

    So, the first hit would leave you at 1% - then the second hit would kill you.

    Taunt isn't auto hit in pvp.

    Its auto-hit, but will only affect 50% of the time. You won't see a "Miss" message from a taunt.

    I want to be able to link to this in-game after I take down a Regen Scrapper (Non-Dull Pain) with Build Up, Assassin Strike, Energy Transfer.

    Never do you hear the word 'nerf' more than when an FotM Spine/Regen goes down.

    Basically: if it was meant to be taken down by more than 1 team, it gives the badge. Mission versions are scaled down versions that are more like AV's, thus able to be defeated by a single team, and thus do not give the badge.

    Edit: And is the Babbage from the Synapse TF really meant to be taken on by more than one team? I mean... he is a zone spawn, but he is triggered, and he is only there because of the team doing the TF, so he is theirs . I would hate for a lowbie Synapse team to be unable to do the 25% damage necessary to receive the GM badge from Babbage, or even able to defeat him.
  10. I have a couple...

    We have a dude in our SG (PUAD), Bolt Crank, a level 50 Invuln/Ax Tanker who prides himself on being virtually unkillable. We had a server event for the SG's one year anniversary, and one of the events was a kill Bolt Crank event. It was 3 on 1 in the Arena, and the team who killed him the quickest received some HOs.

    Me and my two friends had some heroes in a coalitioned SG, so we took him on with those. We went last; it was my Illu/Rad Controller, a Fire/Rad Controller, and an Elec/Elec Blaster. We brought him down about 10 seconds ahead of the next closest team! He made us re-do it because he didn't get Unstoppable on in time, but really it was because he knew we would gloat about it to this day, which we do.

    The next... I was solo on my Stalker, and came across a team of 3 in the Warburg Web. 2 controllers, and a Tank. I dropped one of the controllers, hopped out, re-hid, dropped the other. One of the other controllers awakened, dropped her again. Hopped out, pumped some enrages, and took out the Tank. All the while the Controllers are saying Stalkers have nothing better to do than pick on Controllers, and the Tank is exclaiming jewels such as "U &#%^ n00b! Fight me like a man without Hide!11!!"

    Smile to my face.

    Lastly, this past SG Base Raid we did, we were attacking a bas,e and frankly, not getting anywhere. None of us could find any of their Dimensional Anchors, we were dropping like flies... it wasn't going well. I kept spawning next to their Med Bay... finally, out of frustration, me (Magician - Fire/Storm Controller), and D-Shift (Kin/Rad Defender) start taking out their Med Bays...

    Because they all had to leave the base to respawn, we had enough time to get down the Disruptor Pylons! We would not have won if it wasn't for that...

    We then went and had drinks with them in the new Pocket D!

    Seconded. In fact, the first thing I thought of when I saw the toga was that it would be a perfect costume for a Thugs mastermind, or for an Electric/Electric brute. Too bad the event will end before Issue 8 begins.

  12. As of yesterday when I checked, Arbiter Leery offered my level 40 MM, who has done and used both Respecs, missions.

    I haven't ran any of 'em, but the first is in my Mission list now. When I get home from work, I can check if he'll offer missions to my level 40 Stalker who has done both respecs, but only used one; in hopes that we could check another variable.

    A very, very long time ago, Statesman told us Electric Blasters that our strength was using Endurance Drain on Bosses and ArchVillains.

    You may or may not be aware, but AVs are almost next to impossible to drain. I've spammed Short Circuit and Power Sink next to them and never seen so much as a budge in their Endurance Bar.

    They have 800 Endurance, and insane Endurance Recovery.

    Perhaps you could look at their apparent immunity to Endurance Drain.

    If any secondaries need to be looked at, I'd say /Fire and /Ice are much further up on the list than /Elec.

    So, what Castle is saying is... PvPers will be able to get their stacking Stealth from Cloak of Darkness, rather than open the Concealment pool for Stealth.

    And, if you do go for Stealth, it wouldn't stack with CoD...

    So... Yay! No more necessary Concealment pool! (At least for DA).

    Care to now expand on all of the toggles of DA, Castle? Death Shroud, Oppressive Gloom, Cloak of Fear?

    it would be nice to actually, oh I don't know... see the signature villains once in a while.

    I LOVED Seer Marino's arc that introduced everyone to Ghost Widow; it blew my mind away with sheer awesomeness, and I played through the rest of CoV just begging to see more of the villains.

    It never happened.

    I can understand saving the strongest punch for the last 10 levels, but about the most epic thing in CoV is ssaving Ghost Widow, and that happens in the first 20 levels.

    Also... we need more heroes to fight! I've taken out Back Alley Brawler, Infernal (Too much, actually), Aurora Borealis (Too much on that one as well), Mynx, and Sea Witch... where are the rest? I need to hurt Statesman, Manticore, Synapse, Positron, etc.

    As far as villains... Just more cameos would be cool. I want to see them in-game - Mako somewhere on Sharkshead - even as just a contact somewhere hidden in a cave that when you talked to him, he sneers, "You're not ready. Now get out of here before some friends and I have you for dinner", and of course vicious sharks would be swimming around behind him.

    Also... I need more Coralax! Less CoT! One is a new and unique enemy-type, the other dominates about 80 levels-worth of content between CoH and CoV.

    Badge Questions

    Any chance of the Marcone Capo badge for villains (Gangbuster) to have its requirements toned down? Currently it is 200 bosses - bosses that are only half of the possible Family bosses (And I believe the general Family badge only requires 100).

    The fact is, that Marcone badge is only readily available in Port Oakes, and the bosses are so spread out, thaat you end up tediously hunting for quite a while. The badge being necessary for the Slot Machine contact exemplifies this problem, especially because the 30+ CoV game is limited on contacts, and you need to do the Slot Machine's missions to reach level 35, unless you want to do mindless PvP and Newspaper missions for a long time.

    Also - I am glad to hear that Arbiter Leery is fixed now. I have two 40s who could have used that contact, rather than do a trillion PvP missions.

    I just never look at the thing... In my experiences, it has always seemed like a Hold - thats why I was so shocked to see it listed as a Disorient.

    So, you have to realize how much I did not want to see the Broadcast to switch tot he combet tab instead, heh.

  20. In circumstances where you need the same effect to stack, like, against Hamidon, bosses, PvP - it does matter.

    So, anyone else have any ideas?
  21. So, I was playing my Illu/Rad controller Saturday night, and it was the first time I had played him in quite a while. We were raiding Hami, and I turn on my Combat tab so I don't have to listen to the blathering in Broadcast, and I notice this.

    I know the Blaster APP version of EM Pulse has always been a Disorient - did the Controller version get mistakenly changed? What5 about the Defender one? Has it ALWAYS said it was a Disorient in the combat tab, but not in the actual Power Description? (I really wouldn't know, I don't monitor that tab often.)

    Tell me what you think... hope my little annotations on the image come out legible.

    Edit: The image is kind of small - you can expand it if you click the lower right corner symbol that shows up (How it was on my CPU at least...)
