    Fiery Aura

Can you address Healing Flames only being a 17% Heal, when I believe it is supposed to be a 25% heal?
  2. [ QUOTE ]
My goal over the course of this is kill a purple lt. at level 1 and see if I can get an entire level from 1 kill.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is an XP cap in the game now. The maximum XP you can get from any one single entity is 50% of a level, so 5 bars.

Sorry, you have the Winter Lord to thank for that.
  3. I'll need this in Winter Lord form.

Or some kind of glowie mission that rewards XP anywhere.

Or a nearby dumpster to drop enemies into. Freaks, Wolves, Warriors, Ninjas... I'm indifferent.

    Or a "Burn"-power that works.

Or some sort of Hive... Spire.

Or a drill... let's call it a "Mole" Machine.

Maybe then this will be familiar to me!

I've lowered the requirements for this from needing the "Nigh Indestructible" badge (100,000,000 damage taken) to "Unbreakable" (10,000,000 damage taken).

This is in a future patch (not on the Training Room yet). I don't know when it will be promoted to TR or to the live servers, but it is in the pipeline.

    Awesome.

    See - whining pays off!

    BRB = MOB - attacks - knockback resist + 100% dam resist

    [/ QUOTE ]

That still means that only people with Knockback powers would move the ball, and it wouldn't have the physics aspects that you'd want, since it has to follow knockback rules rather than particle movement rules. It would not 'bounce' properly off of objects.

All of that said, it *could* be done, but I doubt we have the free time in the schedule anytime soon, and even at that it would be fairly low priority. My guess is you'll see it around the same time as the Giant Tape Worm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

YES!!! They are planning to make a Giant Tape Worm! I knew it!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That almost sounds cooler than the BRB...
  6. As my Ice/SS Tanker, I could 4-shot Corrupters and Dominators.

On my Elec/Elec Brute, it takes about... 9 hits? At the least.

Electric Melee is really weak. Lightning Rod is the best pwoer in the set, and really the only one that does above average damage. The problem is, that comes at level 32... Thats a long climb.

Shouldn't the 'mostly' single target Thunderstrike have a higher base damage than the AoE Lightning Rod?

Chain Induction... I have no idea what its doing. It looks like the ENergy Transfer animation, which is good, and I was psyched... but then... about 50 damage against a non-resistant player? I never saw any jumps, even in the PvE settings.

Electric Melee for Blasters is pretty darn close to be equal with what is regarded as the best Blaster secondary, Energy Melee. For Brutes, Energy Melee is supremely better than Electric. In fact, I'd say it's: Energy, Super Strength, Stone Melee, Fire, Electric, Dark, in terms of damage...

    I'm pretty dissapointed.

So... how is THE Blue Shield (Trainer in King's Row) associated with the "blue shield" PPD?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It's Blue Steel.

"So the commissioner called in a number of favors with local heroes, including the former policeman Blue Steel, and a city-wide manhunt was undertaken."

    From:
    Gears, ratchets, sockets, and springs.

    cheers,
    Arctic Sun

    [/ QUOTE ]

So he won't have anything to do with these PPD guys? He should! Give the dude some personality! I always thought he looked cool... But, it's pretty lame he's the only trainer in the game without a Praetorian alter-ego.
  8. So... how is THE Blue Shield (Trainer in King's Row) associated with the "blue shield" PPD?

If he isn't... Come on! He needs some personality! He needs something!!! He's a joke in the CoH trainer world!
  9. I have no idea why this isn't even being discussed.

It wasn't intended for Chain Induction to have an XP-loss. It is a bug that it does. Fix the bug, however you can. Don't go Live with this.

Thunderstrike... It's "ok". I think that all sets need one big heavy-hitter for PvP, and it would be nice if this was given a bit more... The Blaster version is both AoE and pretty punishing, how would it be unbalancing if the Brute version was the same? As long as it does less damage, and perhaps use more Endurance than Total Focus, whats the harm, right?
  10. [ QUOTE ]
FYI: Electric Shields' Grounding Power will have Immobilize and Knockback Protection added. The set will still not have a Heal power or HP Buff power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
FYI, Lightning Rod's Recharge Time will be being reduced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And with these two quotes, I am back on board for my Electric/Electric Brute on Issue 7 Launch Day!!!
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Adding Immob to Grounded seems a good idea, but it's a passive. Passive Immob protection in a set that doesn't have it at all? Not sure if they'd buy that, but I guess it's cool.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Stalker Dark Armor set has a passive, "Shadow Dweller", which has Immobilize protection and +Perception, which is pretty cool for a passive, it might have more as well, but I can't recall (Maybe I'll double check, adn Edit later).

So, its not unprecedented, at least.
  12. You guys took a volcano, and turned it into an ant hill.

Numbers before for Electrical Manipulation (IIRC): Havoc Punch - 100% for 1 toggle, 50% for 2 toggles, 25% for 3 toggles. (That just doesn't seem right to me... the numbers were similar to that, at least.)

Numbers now: Blaster: Electrical Manipulation: Havok Punch: 22% for 1 Toggle

I mean... it was most assuredly a problem before, but with #'s like those, it will pretty much be a non-factor.

The big problem is the only 5% chance on Brawl - Tanker Vs Tanker and Regen Vs Regen fights will never end now.

Many of those powers were taken solely for their toggle drop aspects. I can guarantee you no one in the game that PvPs will have Frozen Fists now that it only has a 5% chance to drop toggles.

I saw Toggle-Dropping as a necessary evil before, but it was pushed too far. Many times the only way to stop a Stalker from hopping away after his free kill was to toggle-drop him and hold him. Otherwise, he's hopping away, waiting for Hide to pop back, and swooping back down. It was the only way I've been able to defeat a Regen Scrapper. The only chance I have against an Ice Tank.

If you're okay with a foodchain of Scrappers > Tankers > Controllers > Blasters > Defenders in PvP, then good job. If that is not what you were going for, those numbers need to be increased a bit.

My ideal solution would have been Charged Brawl: 75% to drop one toggle, Havoc Punch: 50% to drop one toggle. The weaker punch has the higher % to encourage more people to choose it, if they're only taking the punches for the toggle dropping chances to begin with.

Also - Thunder Clap is the most unwieldy power to use in both PvE and PvP. When I read "8% to drop one toggle, I respecced it out in my mind.
  13. Despite any disagreements I might have had with Circuit in the past, he is dead on here. That is the biggest double standard I have ever seen.

When I first began to PvP with my Stalker, and realized I could do very little against a Storm, yeah, I complained. Then I thought to myself many of the things Circuit has stated, about how "Hey, that Empath defender can't do anything to defend himself against my 'ONE power' Assassin Strike, which even defeats her... I guess thats balance that I can't do anything against a Stormy or Force Bubble.

I still think a Melee-Only class wil not be able to beat a Stormer without de-toggling Hurricane.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You mean like when I kicked your [censored]? Mwuahaha!

    [/ QUOTE ]

EM stuns! You detoggled my 'Cane!

OMG! Nerf Ice Tanks! Not even all Ice Tanks, just Ice/EM Tanks!

Scratch that! Just nerf PMM's Ice/EM Tank!
  15. I was in a Free For All Arena last night with my Fire/Storm Controller against an Ice/Trap Corrupter and a Spine/Regen Scrapper set at level 37.

    I won - 10 kills to their 2 and 1. I think I died twice.

Hurricane still seems great to me. It is much easier to get a hit through it, but you can't stick around in it, the ToHit Debuff is still effective. I still think a Melee-Only class wil not be able to beat a Stormer without de-toggling Hurricane.

Also - I was able to pin a few people in corners still, but not for so long. And remmeber, when Issue 7 comes, apparently the ToHit stuff is supposed to be evened out or something, right?
  16. [ QUOTE ]
CoX will be a better place with EM adjusted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blasters should have higher kill counts in PvP than scrappers. EM is the only Blasters capable of doing that, according to the numbers. Therefore, other secondaries need to be raised! Stop nerfing!

Note: Scrappers should of course have a better Kill to Death ratio, which they do, but for mass number of kills, Blasters should be higher.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
    Couple things.

    1) I was giving the AT mods, not considering build up/aim or external buffs. I did not specify a given power set. I think everyone who PvP's is aware of how dominant Energy Melee/Energy Manipulation can be.

    2) "Damage as a secondary effect" If I don't Stun a person on my TF hit, they can typically escape. I could just be bad at energy melee, though (most of CoX PvP experience is Super Strength, Dark Melee, Claws, or Mind Control.)

    3) Datamining -- I looked at Blaster/Scrapper a few minutes ago. In terms of raw kills, Blasters are the better PvP killers, but only if they have Energy Manipulation. Without EM, they are roughly 60% of scrappers numbers. In terms of kills to death ratio, Blasters are slightly behind scrappers with EM, but competing with Defenders and Dominators for lowest value Note, that these are solo values! Things are very different in team play.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Consider Electric Blaster secondaries as well as Energy - I think you'll find they are quite compatible, just not nearly as common. With those #s, I have to wonder... are they where you think they should be? I would imagine Scrappers have the best, but do you find it a problem that one set out-performs them by 40%? (Derived from other Blasters being only 60% Total kill numbers of Scrappers).

Blasters kill a lot, and die a lot, just as I expected to see. I think since they ARE so much more vulnerable than Scrappers, somehow its only balanced if they got more kills than them, but alas, only Energy can claim that.

And yes, I do worry that EM will be nerfed, although it shouldn't, as the others should be brought up.

ChrisMoses, once you choose your patron, you are (currently--hopefully this will change) locked into just that patron, and you are not allowed to respec into another patron's powersets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is what I was told, but why would a Respec be rewarded at the same time? Doesn't it seem to be counter productive? Or at least a spit in the face?

"Yay! You've chosen Black Scorpion as your patron, as well as received a free respec!"

"Cool! Mace Blast go! ... This attack does as much damage as an unlostted brawl... I'll use my free respec to switch to something I would prefer."

"I'm sorry... that respec I just gave you does not work with the other reward you received... that I gave you at the same time."
  19. Sorry if this has been asked about already, I didn't feel like reading through the 20 pages of whines.

    [ QUOTE ]
With the one free respec you gain when you complete your Patron’s Arc, Patron Power selections will become available at threat levels 41, 44, 47 and 49! Once you have mastered these unspeakable powers, your strength will be rivaled by few among the City of Villains

    [/ QUOTE ]

From Awry's article. You get a Respec for completing your Patron Arc or whatever, but this respec will not affect the actual Patron powers that you are being rewarded?

Help me clarify this situation please.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Well, those who said the Patron Powers would have to be very, very similar across the Patrons weren't wrong. They seem to follow enough of a set pattern that no one pool is outstandingly different from any other. For example:

Brutes get: Ranged single-target attack, AoE Immob, ranged AoE damage, Pet.

Doms get: Attack OR End buff, Armour, ranged AoE damage, pet.

    This isn't a criticism.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is to say they're mostly copies of basic CoH powers, yet we don't get to Respec them... for some reason.
  21. Many of the powersets need a complete redesign - I hope the Devs are aware of it, and will acknowledge it should be adressed when time permits.

Thanks for the heads up _Castle_. It should keep the whiners under control for at least a week.
  22. [ QUOTE ]

Since he said they're not changing it I feel comfortable saying this.

    There is always tomorrow.

  23. I'm glad you're looking into it Castle.

Isn't Healing Flames supposed to be a base 25% Heal?

Pretty sure that is what I have always learned it as...
  24. (General reply, not to anyone in specific)

If you are one of those foaming-at-the-mouth Anti-Stalkers, please post in your Signature whether you have actually PvP'd with a Stalker.

If you haven't, I'll know to simply disregard your invalid opinion on the matter (Because you're only giving your experience from the receiving end - you have no idea what it took to set that Assassin Strike up).
