So Lighthouse was scapegoated for all of the PvP hate because he had the audacity to speak candidly about the process?
Good luck wherever ya land, Light. -
*reins
Reigns is, like "a king reigns over the throne". Reins are the leather strap things to lead a horse.
Carry on. -
Anyone got an updated Set IO guide?
Mine is at 50, and I'm working on it now. I'll post it later when able if no one else has one. -
Nice update, Geko. I've been busy working out a Respec for my BS/Regen, and this helps.
A question:
This isn't necessarily a Sword question, but why slot the Sciriocco Proc? It's just a chance for more lethal damage, right? I more have issues with understanding how often the Proc would activate in real gameplay. 4 Scirioccos gives a good set bonus (I forget which, I'm at work), but I've just been using one of the other enhancements rather than the Proc.
And a suggestion:
I know a 3 LotG gives a good set bonus... Again, I forget which.
But 5 Red Fortunes gives a +DMG bonus, and a +Rcgh bonus, I believe. So IIRC, I slotted MoG with the LotG +Rcgh, and 5 Red Fortunes.
What do ya think? -

I want the name Status Crow.

With some caveats:
1.)Any names you'd like to trade for it?
2.) You'd have to further his/her story in some way, just like Captain America's mantle was passed on to someone else.
[/ QUOTE ]
Choose your sucessor wisely... Unless of course you get taken out on the steps of Grandville, and time is a limiting factor!
Besides, everyone knows you'd be back anyway. -
I want the name Slinger.
I've always wanted it, but recently I missed my chance... Looks like it became available, but a villain took it at some point.
... Make it happen! -
In regards to Recipe rewards... What does Ouroboropiasud (stupid word) offer? Can you get recipe drops of the level range as you do them? Is there a chance of getting, say, a Miracle drop for doing a level 30 story arc?
Great guide by the way. Really helped me understand the place a bit better.
Oh, one more thing - Would you say the third "pseudo-TF" is solo-able? -
Woo, first vote!
Edit: And now I edit to say why I voted the way I did.
It could be just because I can't play as often lately as I have in the past, and longing makes the heart grow fonder, but I've been really enjoying the game lately.
I love opening my Salvage and Recipe tabs after every drop, and discussing with my team if they need anything I picked up.
The economy is as smoothly integrated as I can imagine. It's just like the prior enhancement/base salvage drops... For the life of me, I can't understand how people could find it so invasive.
It takes some getting accostomed to though. The tutorial explains it's fairly well, what I didn't quite grasp for a while were the Set IOs and effective combinations. Perhaps a tutorial on that somewhere would be helpful.
The Statesman Task Force is fun, at least, to an extent. There is definitley some frustrating aspects on the final encounter; if you don't have the debuffs, you really can't win. Also, Scrappers are generally marginalized for the encounter, but neither of those issues is entirely unexpected or new.
The only thing I didn't like about Issue 9? Costume drops are too low, and I think it should be a new NCSoft policy to include at least one new power set in each issue.
All in all, I voted for 4 stars! -
Energy Blade!
Psychic Weapons!
Dual Daggers!
(Ok, it's 3, but I was really excited)
The defense sets on the other hand...? I went with Shield and Growth, mostly because those are the only ones I can envision. Not entirely sure how Willpower or Vibration would work, really...
Cool Poll, glad to see player input being considered. -
Three cheers for the Brawler!

Ah, I was worried you were already gone. Was a pleasure to see your post, but it's just new bad news!
Good luck with the new project Mako. Hope your replacement is able to uphold the standards you set. -

Heroes dont have Mayhem or Newspaper missions. Issue Eight fixes that. Thats what he means about content.

But...
Villains don't have 13 TFs/Trials (Not counting Respecs).
Villains don't have 27 zones.
Villains don't have any Hazard zones.
Why does he feel the need to rectify one without commenting on the other? -
Dear Positron,
Thank you for the letter. It's so good to receive real mail in this digital age.
I had two questions about what you had to say:
Are any of our prior Devs now working on the Marvel/Microsoft MMO?
When you say this:

Id like to start out by mentioning Issue 8: To Protect and Serve. This is a hero-centric Issue that finally levels the playing field between Heroes and Villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
What do you mean? Content-wise, Heroes still have more to do than villains (More TFs, more trials, more zones, etc). Levelling the playing field PvP-wise? Yeah, heroes have that advantage as well.
Please tell me your thoughts Positron, and until next time!

The reason you are seeing it in the first place is because of Auto Assault. They calculate their rewards based on paid time.
However - we will be basing ours on played time (beta doesn't count tho yo).
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me get this straight...
So, if a Friend and I both had our own accounts since CoH Day 1, never lapsed on a renewal, always had an active account...
I've played... 5000 hours, he's played 1000 (arbitrary numbers), but we've paid for the same amount of time... I would receive more Vet rewards than him?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, people are dense... Played time = time subscribed, i.e. time when you have been able to play. Not your hours played.
Geez.

QFT. It's really funny to me how many ways people can misinterpret perfectly clear language just so they can get themselves all in a tizzy.

QFE of jackassery.
I asked for a clarification, as did many others.
CuppaJo said paid time versus played time. Right now I am at work. I am currently paying for City of Heroes, since I paid my $15 this past 28th, and is good until the upcoming 28th. But am i playing now? No, I am at work.
In the past, I realize Cuppa has said things such as the 3 months = Trenchcoats, but things change, especially in this game.
Try to act like this forum is just a bunch of people gathered in a room, talking over some things. I hope the next time you're in a board room and someone asks for clarification you don't tell them they're an idiot for not immediately grasping the concept.
Pretend like you don't have your internet anonymity to say whatever that pent up child inside wants.

LOL. Look, you've been around for awhile, and I'm sure you were in CoV Beta. We got into CoV Beta based on "paid and played" time or "subscribed time." I just thought Cuppa's statements, both in her PM to me and in her original post here, spoke of the very same system for veteran's rewards. Plus, the fact that Cuppa in her original post said it would include any free time given by CoH/CoV/Hero Gear purchase would imply that it's NOT in-game time.
Anyway, she has since clarified her statements even further, so hopefully that will end all confusion. I doubt it, but there's always hope.
Also...
I didn't call you an idiot. Spacenut said you were dense, not me. And I don't even agree with that, for the record.
[/ QUOTE ]
You PM'd her... Why? Perhaps to ask for a clarification of something?
Yes, I have been around for a while. And I play a lot too. No matter which way they decided to do the Verteran Rewards, I would more than likely receive the maximum allotted.
But, I asked anyway. Why? Because I knew it would be a point of contention, because it was not clear. CuppaJo further clarified, while I was making my post.
I read the entire thread to the point that I asked for clarification. CuppaJo felt the need to clarify, she must have re-read and perhaps found issue with it.
It's true, it would have been more appropriate to quote the original neanderthal. -

We'll miss you Cuppa; good luck on Tabula Rasa, and I might just have to check out that game now that you'll be handling the Forums there!

Alright, I'm a fool.
I didn't realize the "GoTO" command could be doubled as "Stay", until I actually used it for something other than to Detonate my Assault Bot.
Thanks again, Sandolphan! -
Cool, cool... So it would incorporate the other controls? Like, I could hit 0 for all pets, then the decimal point for stay? So All - Stay would be the full command?
And umm... How would I do that? I'm really bad at this... -
[ QUOTE ]
Wait... You're telling me there is a Ballista Giant Monster?!?!?!
*boggles*

Curious as well... -
Sandolphan -
Great guide, I just recently incorporated it, and am finding all of my henchmen commands going off without a hitch!
But, I do have one request... I use the Bind method of the numeric commands, the most basic standard set; I didn't bother with the individual pet names... I'm pretty bad with Binds, Macros, etc - I'm simple.
So, what I have found missing is a "Stay" command using the basic numeric pad controls.
Is there a way to incorporate one? Any ideas how? -
Lorenz Ansalado stopped giving me missions when I levelled from 24 to 25.
I Dinged in the Seawitch/Seaweed badge mission, and when I went to talk to him, he wouldn't offer me anything else. He never offered me "Bust up the Dockworker's Strike"...
You might want to adjust it to reflect this, looks like he (And perhaps the other 20-25 contacts listed) are only 20-24.
