Just a quick question on the subject of TK, how does the idea of a mild debuff on the user sound? something like "usage of this power requires a great amount of concentration resulting in a slight reduction to your (def/res/travelspeed/recharge maybe ground (-fly-jump) the user or something)" in addition to the end cost sound?

I'd like to add that traps cors and mm's, along with ff mm's get psi def, i'm aware def is as useful as a fully slotted feather duster in pvp, but thought I'd add it hehe.

But hey get enough forcefields in the right place and everyone insides got silly psi defense, expect to see warburg filled with more bubbles then your average aero bar.

And can I add a personal thanks to the devs for finally adding a future FoTM that defenders get epic resistance to (eat that fire and ice!)

This is an interesting idea that i think will help highlight the fact that nostalgia is a one way street.
PvP may be dominated by IO'd super builds now, but back then it was dominated by min/max'ed so builds,

But ill try and make it along to watch, be interesting to see what can take down a regen with the -regen adjustment.

OH, and just you dare call me a new wave pvper and ill throw an arena terminal at you, im so old school ive still got hasten 6 slotted, and 2 of them are def so's.

I'd just like to say thanks to those that turned up they were fun matches to watch, and was generally done in good spirits. It was interesting to see how pvp goes down without "the usual suspects", or atleast the usual suspects using a different toon (you know who you are hehe)
Gratz to defiants teams for being stronger on the night, gratz to unions team for taking defeat so well.
I look forward to future events.

I'm afraid this sort of thing if frowned upon amongst the community, if you find yourself enjoying PvP at any point in the future please leave the zone as quickly as possible.

In all seriousness PvP is often seen within this game as some scary pass-time where only the "l33t" need apply so its encouraging to see someone who has found for themselves that it can be fun without being one of the big 5 cookie cutter pvp builds.

@ KS- I recently discovered that ice skating is not one of my inherent powers and injured my wristing which made playing next to impossible, I should be back to playing fitness soon. I wont however use Ice Slick on my dom ever again out of sympathy for those poor longbow.

I think spiking is still a very valid tactic it seems in fact to be the basis of CoH pvp.

I dont think our margin of victory today would be as high as it was in some of our matches but the point I was making was back then and even now I dont think simply having an empath on the team is the most important tactic in team PvP its just a slightly easier way of balancing a team out, whereas our team was quite balanced and self reliant (I had concealment fly and phase and a tray of breakfree's, regens were still in god mode, tanks werent far behind, gatling was in a league of his own blapper-wise back then) we didnt group together, we swooped in for our kills sent tankers and scrappers in to tuant and distract while we moved in debuffed and spiked then split off again across the map meaning they couldnt chase us all.
Today teams are more focused and react to tactics quicker and a lot of the stuff we tried back then (the cherry bomb, the empulse opener, taking the fights to the skies) would have no chance of working today because we were essentially a team of what today would be considered dual builds. Against a well functioning balanced team with empathy + force fields or sonic I think we’d have a challenge, but isn’t that where the fun in PvP starts?

Make that elec/energy blaster (gatling) rad/rad defender and fire/ss tank (seriphimus) and it was my S4 team (+ spines/regen knight stalker and ill/kin mimic).
Admittedly PvP was in its infancy back then but we found spiking worked well especially since we didn't have a healer.

Chances are it will be up intime.
