go back and read MY posts on this topic.. pretty sure we dont think exactly the same things. I explained why HE had issues with "role playing" and I explained what mine were, since it directly had an affect on me.

its like everything in society really.. religion, politics, sexual prefrences...

sorry these 2 people in question gave us the bad opinion of role playing.. whats upsetting is the way the majority of you seem to think its ok what they did and excuse it and are now trying to make this an issue of being homophobic and intolerant. Which, is quite funny considering I grew up 30 mins from San Francisco and know a lot of gay and lesbian people.

Yes, i agree.. clearly we are discussing 2 different types of role playing here.. what im not getting tho is how you can possibly argue that my opinion is wrong. There has GOT to be a point where a line is crossed. I mean, cmon'.. really?

Most recently I was on a vent channel with a team.. at 1 point 1 of their daughters came on and everyone said hi to her.. and im like, wait.. how old is this girl.. i was told she was 10..

2 days prior to this i saw this girl in atlas "role playing" as an 18 year old girl. I told her father when he came back on what had gone on and he handled it and she even apologized for it..

I had seen this girl around atlas the whole time ive been playing and was shocked to hear shes only 10. At what point is it going to far?

Go ahead and role play, whatever... PROBLEM is that its typically in an open environment or on a team setting.. its NOT exclusive to sg's.. and perhaps thats the only place it needs to be. Dont involve unwilling participants.

Is that really too much to ask?

I think perhaps I can shed some light into this topic and war's strong opinion on "role-playing"

The 2 people he is talking about took "role-playing" to a completely different lvl. It borderd on sexual harassment.

It was very flirtatious and harmless in the beginning. Most of it was directed towards me tho and it did get to the point where instead of just being honest and saying stop or whatever, i would make up excuses and say i couldnt chat.

There was numerous tells sent to me of a very explicit nature and I of course would then tell War what was going on, and he would read it. I didnt make it an issue.. I was new to the game and we DID have a great team dynamic.. they are great players.. thats not in question.

They used their sexuality to manipulate the stupid guys in my sg to get what they wanted done.. from tf's, badge hunting, toon lvling.. whatever it was. We always took a vote on what to do that particular evening.. we all kinda met up at the same time nightly so we had a routeine down.. The "inside joke" was to make sure these 2 were kept happy.. when they were happy the sg was drama free. I didnt mind, I was (still am) a new player and was along for the ride.

Then, as a sg, we took a vote on getting a vent chanel.. and at the time there was 8 of us.. 6 0f us said yes and so we got it set up.

This is where it starts to hit the fan..

These 2 became combative and created drama at every possible time.. this went on for a good month before it all just blew up. They had every excuse in the book for not wanting to get on it. The ironic thing is 1 of the excuses they gave is that 1 of them had been a bad "girl" and got busted "cybering" on a different channel.. so the "gf" forbid her from ever getting on a vent channel again. They did however join the channel to listen and would type their replys in the chat bar.

In the final blow up, there were some things said to me that only a guy would say, not a girl/woman. Thats when I knew for certain they were guys.

So, as you can see War has a pretty good reason for not being a fan of "role-playing"

As the ol' saying goes.. "it just takes 1 bad apple to spoil the bunch"
Something else I think thats being missed here is that War DOESNT have an issue with guys PLAYING on a chick toon, as he said, he has 1. What he IS saying is that he has a problem with a guy ROLE PLAYING as a female.. if you cant see that there IS a difference in those 2 thing's.. well.. meh.. perhaps you need to step outside and tell me what color the sky is in your world.
