  1. made a new toon yesterday and entered mercy and poped to the arbiter to level up and there was a guy stood there and he kept inviting me constantly .. even followed me out of the fort STILL inviting me to his SG .. think i got around 20 or so sg invites till i just put him on ignore.

I'd drop hasten and ss and put 2 acc/1 recharge/3 dam on AS and 1 recharge 1 acc on each attack power.

i wouldn't 3 slot hide unless you have nothing else to slot.
i wouldn't slot stealth as the gain from each slotted add is very small.
  4. Theres some debate about whether you need hasten for MA but personaly i've never needed it with 1 recharge in each attack power.
    Placate at 12
i7 isn't here yet so planning to 50 is pointless.
Tough out of the box for stalkers is 7.5% res ..not really worth it.
  5. stop taking weave cap its cack ! take tough hide instead !
  6. Cap Combat jumping is 3.1% def out of the box and 3.9% with 3 SO's .. don't think its worth wasting those extra 2 slots on combat jumping

Weave is a stupid 4.3% def out of the box and 6.8% with 3 def enh and 1 end redux.
Where as tough hide is 7.9% def with only 3 def enhancers and IS NOT a toggle

    try this

anywho just to stay on topic i've been to warburg afew times and i think its an added twist it being a FFA
SC and BB are hero v villain and those zones are good for trying out your build against the opposing side where as Warburg is FFA so not only can you fight heroes but you get the opportunity to fight villains to.
Big question is will the higher level pvp zone be FFA ?

couldn't agree more mate. Just now you are really just grinding for SOs (not complaing) or temp powers or whatever. Ranking would make it more fun and dare I s ay it, competative

    [/ QUOTE ]

nah because it would just make certain other community members only think about there pvp ranking and to hell with the rules and general feeling making for very unhappy new players and community at large.
    or something like that.

i think if you read back i never said i have no problem with endurance with fire/thermal ..i think you've just jumped to conclusions .. go on take a look at my posts .. none of the say anything about endurance.
And fire breath says medium range on it.. go look.

Yeah, but we're talking about Fire/Dark. /Thermal doesn't have half as many expensive toggles as Dark - it doesn't have any toggles, in fact. What works for one build will not necessarily work for another, you have to assess all the components - not just one - if you're trying to give useful advice. /Dark is an end-hog - having a low-damage, quick-firing attack may work out better than a cone that you might not have the endurance to use, necessarily.

FYI, I have a Fire/ Corruptor, I'm not basing anything off Hero Planner.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not trying to give advice on /dark or /thermal i'm trying to give correct advice on fire/ because people have been giving misleading information based on hero planners.
I'm giving advice on fire/ and i'm sure someone has good advice for /dark or whatever this chap wants to play then its up to him to fit it all together or someone who has played that certain build whatever it maybe can give good advice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you've missed what both Syn and I were getting at... the point is that if you're playing Fire/Thermal, you may well be able to get away with using a lot of high-endurance attacks, but if you're playing Fire/Dark, you're most likely going to have more trouble doing so, because /Dark is a much more endurance-heavy set than /Thermal. Giving advice on Fire/ alone doesn't really add up when you're talking about something where you have to take both sets into account, which is what we were trying to do (as people who both play Fire/ Corruptors, and both play with /Dark toons as well).

    [/ QUOTE ]

oh god! .. your whole argument is about end useage with fire/dark when not once have i even mentioned that.
I made comments on the cone and range of firebreath which if you look ingame is listed as MEDIUM RANGE.. good god it says so on the power..as for the cone if you stand close to a mob you not going to get as many hits with it ..ITS A CONE .. stand back abit.
This is my argument .. NOT about end usage
    get a grip

thats incorrect .. its quite long range and has quite a large cone.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Out of all the cones in the game, Fire Breath is one of the narrowest, and it's a melee cone. I might be slightly off on distances, but you still have to be up close and personal to use it, and its not very forgiving if you line it up wrongly.

That doesn't mean it's not a good attack, it's just not my personal preference. It's also worth noting that a Fire/Dark using Fire Ball and Fire Breath in a consistent attack chain is going to be a Corruptor gasping for endurance in a long fight. In end-heavy builds, I might be tempted to take Flares as an ST attack to take off the last chunk of HP... but to each their own.

    [/ QUOTE ]

it has the same width cone as darks tenticles .. how do i know this because i play with a dark/dark corruptor and use the same cone he does and i hit the same target he does.
Please don't make out that firebreath can only be used at melee range because that would be untrue and misleading ..its medium range ..not short or melee.

Never in my life would i swap flares for anything else in fire..flares is just to low damage.
Fireball and breath are perfectly fine with an end red in them and my fire/thermal has had a nice long life up to 39 and i say this so people know i have experiance of fire/thermal and don't just look on a hero planner !

    [ QUOTE ]

It's a damn narrow, short cone though. Having an attack chain with Firebreath in restricts you to dancing around melee, pretty much - not so bad in PvE, but a little restrictive in PvP. Sometimes I find it difficult to fire Blaze off against a moving target, which has about twice the range of Fire Breath IIRC.

    [/ QUOTE ]

thats incorrect .. its quite long range and has quite a large cone.
Blaze is the very short range power altho the damage is very nice.
    i have
    fireblast 2 acc 3 dam 1 recharge
fireball 1 acc 3 dam 1 recharge 1 end red
firebreath 1 acc 3 dam 1 recharge 1 end red
    blaze 2 acc 3 dam 1 recharge
I have no problems with accuracy and have a full attack chain.

    - mez protection is not permanent (but with 3 SO recharge reduction enhancements, the "window" where it's off is around 15 seconds)

Thats wrong .. with 3 recharge SO's you get an overlap of about 5-10 seconds

Lodestar - there are loads of badges in game

I personally have all 4 Strikle force badges, 3 history badges, infact I have 100 120 badges...

add @jamus to your global and I will help you out

Caltrops suck in PVP tho in nijitsu

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have them and wouldnt drop them for the world. Mostly i use them for runners, ie people i know are gonna run the minute i attack
Another use i find is for tankers, keeps em nice and still for when we stalkers need to combine to take em down

theres no -fly element tho and ppl can just jump right off them.

but Ninjitsu has special powers to help, such as AoE Placate

    [/ QUOTE ]
Its not AoE placate, its AoE blind if I am correct. Placate makes you 'hidden' to a target, and able to get the instant criticals/full AS damage, blind however simply means they cannot see you, but you are not in the 'hidden' state.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    we have both

blinding powder : Cone, -ACC, -Perception, Sleep, Confuse
smoke flash: Aoe placate (long activation time tho)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Smoke flash isn't really that long activation time.
Caltrops suck in PVP tho in nijitsu

    from charactor builder
    ninja reflexes X3 Def So's = 19.5% Def (melee)
    ninja Danger Sense X3 Def So's = 19.7% Def (ranged / AOE)
    Hide 1 Def So = 9.1% Def (melee/ranged/AOE)
If someone wants to compair to SR.

  19. caltrops in pvp are not that good .. people seem to get out of them fast also theres no -fly element so ppl can just fly off them.
Would take atleast 3 slots in caltrops to be any use in pvp IMO.
  20. the actual throwing of the caltrops will not unhide you BUT you WILL agro everything and they WILL turn towards you and shoot you thus unhiding you.. So if your thinking Caltrops+AS forget it.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
How annoying. I heard in another thread (if I interpreted it correctly) that if you phase shift and toggle invisibility they'll lose you as their target.

    Can anyone verify that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

nope sorry dosn't work.. they still see through invis and will follow you with phase shift on anyway.
But the agro often works in your favour ie run away and break the agro then when the mobs runs back to its starting postion you can pick one or two off.
Its all about hit and run not stand and fight
  22. well i'd suggest transfering over to the test server and trying out blinding powder and smoke flash and see which one you like.
  23. [ QUOTE ]

The guy that aggroed everything and then moaned about getting killed made me grin. It reminded me of the stone tanker that only used brimstone armour as the others didn't look very good. I juse laughed as he charged into a load of clockwork. (he had rock, crystal, stone skin and brinstone. No rooted or EE. He kept complaining that the stone armour set didn't have any mez protection)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hehe you should see how many invul brutes there are without unyielding and then they moan about no hold or KB protection
    A lil quote.
Someguy: omg my toggles keep getting knocked off and i keep getting held.
Me: its because you don't have unyielding
Someguy: i respecd it out coz it sucked and is -def
