Just out of curiosity, what does Power Boost do to the kinetics set?
(yes I know villains cant get this combo, I'm curious because of a Controller char)
I heard it doesn't boost the heal? So what DOES it boost?
[/ QUOTE ]
kinetics dosn't have power boost..kinetics isn't even a dominator set.. controllers can't even get power boost.
please explain lol. -
Oh we went on to do deathsurge and GoS and i even poped lvl 40 so a good night all round
-
Early this morning a 4 man team from Militis Metus spawned and took on caleb and won.
I thought he was bigger than this ?
Hellbane Badge
The Team was ..
ArchRevenant (brute)
Flogiston (brute)
Grim Noir (corruptor)
And myself Mindslice (Dom)
Hes a sneaky bugger flying high with stealth so hes hard to find but we found him and alot of back slapping ensued.
Good fun guys -
i tried a whole new play style on the RV test and i spent about 80% of the time out of hide and it really opened my eyes.
I went spines/dark and i could stand toe to toe with invul tanks and win and only really had to use AS when the bigger boys came out.
I think claws/spines is the way to go as it will have most blasters crying because they can't kite you from midair and they just can't get in melee range to hit you with BU+Aim+TF or another such combo.
I got alot of blasters this way
As for your build just remember that its only AT's like blasters/trollers who won't have KB protection. -
the thing that gets me is self heal is a primary effect but power boost boosts that from 300 odd to 600 odd so it wouldn't surprise me if it boost def and res.
-
is my hero builder wrong that power boost (in ice) is 100% def/res ?
I used it on test today but still got hit so i'm kinda wondering if its correct. -

Oh, and arachnos maps are optimized better in I7.
[/ QUOTE ]
hate going OT but i'd like to just touch on this for a second.
k firstly i have to mention i have a map making background in Half Life's Team Fortress Classic and have made afew well know maps.
This is in no way a brag its just to point out i've designed levels in the past.
Now .. the archnos map i have to say is poorly designed basicly because there is so much map that can be viewed at one time, this is because of the wire mesh walls and roof giveing a player a larger viewable distance.
Cryptic realised this and added vis blockers which are a way to reduce the visable distance and player can see so that players computer renders less of the map only problem is vis blockers (or hint brushes for those who know about such things) are not the best way to reduce r_speeds(basicly frame rate) in a map and they can have the reverse effect and at are best a bodge up.
Also note that what you see and what your computer renders are 2 totaly different things .. you could see 60 feet but your computer could render 300 feet infront of you.
In i7 the archnos map has had more vis blockers added and the viewable distance reduced more but basicly its still down to the poor construction of the map and sloppy level construction i've seen in CoX on a whole. -
good build but like the previous poster said you do need end reduxs on all toggles and divine avalanche does very very little damage and should only be used as a def buff.
with the extra slots you could slot evasion maybe but i'd defo use most for end reduxs on toggles. -

Rin is Perma at 2 SO's, I know this, because I have it on both my 40 Stalker and my 31 Stalker. The only time it's NOT Perma with 2 SO's is when your SO's are -1 to your lvl, and even then there's about 3 seconds downtime. The extra one is just a waste of a slot.
[/ QUOTE ]
well there you go you answered my question .. its not perm
think i'll stick with 3 and have a nice overlap -

No point going flight and tp pool for PvP as an em stalker its plain silly imo. Especially if your getting air sup, I'd go ss and tp, or ss and sj. Hasten is too good ss is a great travel power, tp helps to get stormies, force bubbler etc. SJ is generally a greate travel power CJ/hurdle with ss on an em stalker is fantastic.
Drop stun its cack, you already have total focus at 50
Drop Caltrops
Slot tohit buffs in build up, T
Teleport is overslotted (no need for 3end redux in PvP range is more crucial)
Tp foe is just overated now i think, and those slots could be used elsewhere 2 acc is enough maybe a range (if thats the reasons your going tp pool)
Slot ranges in placate.
Def buffs in hide never hurt to be honest more AoE defence the better eh?
Stalkers also have a sleep power? and a -perception that could be useful aswell, worth testing it out.
You may want to rethink the order of your powers aswell, to suit other zone PvP.
Heres one thing i was really curious about, No mace hold or immobilzes??!!! They do -jump aswell as slow that is invaluable for a stalker its the reason to go mace pool for PvP. They can't escape you at all.
Also I'd fit in grant invis if you team or invisibilty for yourself-good for tracking.
[/ QUOTE ]
i don't really agree with everclear 100%
Yep stun is pants when you have TF
yeah i'd drop caltrops
yep need tohit buffs
teleport - actualy you get more range V end with end reduxs believe it or not and you don't want to end up with no end while stalking someone.
Tp foe is overslotted
anytime you use placate its going to be in melee range anyway
do need more def enh in hide.
smoke flash and blinding powder are situational .. i tried both and didn't really use them much in pvp. -

k acouple things that jump out at me
bone smasher needs an end redux
assassin strike needs a recharge
placate can't be slotted with disdur only recharge preferably 3
Kuji-in rin won't be perm with 2 recharge try 3
Stun don't think you need that when its only mag 3 and TF can do mag 4
Teleport really needs 3 end redux for pvp
fly is pants for pvp unless its a 2nd travel power
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahem. Kuji-In Rin is Perma with 2 SO's. You don't have TF in Sirens' Do You? And my build is purely single target hit and run, so there's no need for recharges or end redux really, as I just TP back out to recover. My build needs tweaked a little though, I'm not quite happy with the slotting.
[/ QUOTE ]
i wasn't refering to your build i was refering to the OP build.. and Rin isn't perm with 2 recharge .. 3 even level recharge only gives a 5-8 second overlap so how can 2 be perm ? -

no with 3 recharge it only overlaps for about 10 seconds.
3 holds won't beat the mez protection tho nor will 4 or 5 thats the whole point to my test.
You just can't hold a clicky mez protected person for any length of time.
not sure what lvls you used in your test but in mine it never happend. -
[ QUOTE ]
If it's the case that you have found on the test server that Rin is weaker than on live, I have a feeling that this current mez strength of Rin is actually a bug, since this double the magnitude of other stalker powers and most Scrapper powers as well - and it's as high as Granite Armour for mez resistance!
I'd like to try it on test
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought the same thing ! so i did go on test and its the same !
And i totaly agree with you on clicky are no more powerful than toggles 100% it just seems alot harder to hold than toggles mainly due to it being a clicky rather than a toggle which can be detoggled.
TBH i think what happend when i was on live that time was the lvl difference even tho everybody gets auto lvled i think there is still some difference. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't think it builds faster but it recharges faster. Recharge time has been reduced from 300 seconds to 200 on test
[/ QUOTE ]
Powers - PvP
Dominators Domination inherent ability will charge much more quickly when fighting PvP targets. Each successful attack from the Assaul secondary power sets adds a bonus of 8 points toward filling the Domination bar over the normal value.

oh and when i say perma held i mean held for any length of time not permantly held
-

[ QUOTE ]
You can't be permanently held in PvP in any case because of suppression.
[/ QUOTE ]
If the suppression works how I think it works (lasts 15 secs and only suppresses the same type of mez, eg. Hold/Stun/Sleep) then you can be perma controlled.
Thats perma controlled, not perma held.
[/ QUOTE ]
that does tally with my findings actualy -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if you've forgotten what I've written or not bothered to read it at all and are just using me for a general gripe.
[/ QUOTE ]
no no you missunderstand i'm just trying to clear the air over toggles v clickys and the fact its alot harder to hold a player with clicky mez than toggle mez.
In my test with my ninjitsu stalker V the grav troller with a singularity its was impossible for me to be perma held even with 5-6 holds.
I'm not sure on the surpression of holds in pvp but results i got were that even with 6 holds i could not be perma held (which can happen in PVP i might add).
I'm also sure the mag was over 14 to.
Don't get me wrong i'm sure your right about practiced brawler i'm not doubting that but i'm testing the fact that ninjitsu mez res will not drop after the typical 4 holds that you stated which adds up to mag 14 which it didn't.
So i don't want to start a flame war or doubt anyones findings and i'm certainly not pointing any fingers, this is just my findings and the proof is in the pudding so to speak. -
[ QUOTE ]
That it nobody else gonna comment?
[/ QUOTE ]
don't .. just don't. -
err that was in PVP hence me saying about the grav troller.
lvl 38 grav troller V my lvl 40 stalker. -
Just posting about a previous thread about clicky or toggle mez protection .. i think its was filth who said its no harder to beat clicky mez protection than it is to beat toggle .. well i did afew test on live and on the test server with a lvl 38 grav controller (thanks mat) and clicky it seems it by far the better.
Take a look
Now as you can see theres 5 holds there and no held sign .. at some points the was 6 holds and i was held for afew seconds but it never beat the mez protection.
This wouldn't happen with a toggle as it would just drop and you would be perma held. -
i just picked up drain psyche and i'm not all that impressed and can't see it being practical in i7 basicly because its such a short buff (around 10-15 seconds or so)that it would make using TK impossible.
The powers i use the most in PVP are TK,confuse, domination, mesmerize and terrorise -
Unyielding is mag 12 like most other mez protection
