ED allowed the game to grow up and made Inventions possible.

Yep. Liberty has a lot of great people playing on it, Doc. I don't think I will be migrating to any other game. I have put some time into both WoW and SW:TOR and they just don't have the same pull for me that CoH has over the last 7+ years. If I do choose to find another game, and not try to undo the 11,000+ hours of CoH couch-potatoing with some kind of fitness regimen, The Secret World seems a good candidate, based on what I have read of it. They are also running a 3 day free trial now, so it might be a good time to give it a shot. I haven't really seen anyone say anything negative about it recently and many love it. Will probably lurk their forums to get a sense of the community.
This really sucks.

I think I'll step away from gaming for awhile (at least 6 months) and commit the energy to physicality, probably doing some basic yoga or perhaps Pilates. I do live in Colorado. I'll probably spend some time rediscovering the awesomeness of my state.

I will spend some time tomorrow checking my cumulative character hours. I have 28 50s and 15 others over 30 on my main server Liberty. I play all of my 50s still and was still lovjng the development of almost every <50 char. I expect to be in the 11,000 hr range. That's an average of 4 hrs a day over the last 7.5 yrs. Report of actual hrs to come tomorrow.

I have a Mind/TA troller at 46 right now (Cupid theme) and he is definitely fun. Troller multipliers on EMP Arrow make it into a real beast. I strongly suggest a Magic origin for lighting the Oil Slick with the origin attack power (or perhaps science, not as sure if it has an energy damage component). Telekinesis with a burning oil slick is a nice combo.

All good scenes. Whedon is really solid. Even his discarded stuff is quality.

Don't mistake the existence of movie rights for the game, for an actual plan by an actual person to make an actual movie.

This kid will probably grow up and play one. Really a terrific piece. Great music for the story.

It's about time. They should have greenlit the full run from the get-go. In any case, good to hear.

Because we REALLY need another British zombie movie. [Link Removed due to inappropriate content. ~Freitag]

Quote:Agreed. The DD Director cut is a classic example of how poor editing can ruin a movie. As bad as Catwoman was (and it was BAD), I was quite surprised in the deleted scenes. They were much better than pretty much anything that made it into the film and if kept in would have done wonders for developing the Berry/Bratt chemistry to make you feel at least a little something during the late action scenes. The Director's Cut is quite a bit better than the original release. It still has some significant flaws (like the playground scene), but it is definitely better, and the Director's Cut moves DD into a mid-tier Comic Book movie.
Now Electra and Catwoman, those were really lousy movies. -

1. Cool Logic
2. Shadow Viper/Fang/Venom/Strike/Serpent
3. Ace Justice, Adventure/Action Ace, Poker Joker, Lucky Draw -
My top tip for boosting survivability for /WP and /Inv scrappers is to run 2 trios of the scrapper ATIOs, catalyzed to purples, which gives +10% vs. smash/lethal. That, combined with a couple 4-piece Kinetic Combats, the Steadfast Protection unique and the (with judicious shopping at WW and converting) the PvP +3def IO can send your toughness in most situations through the roof.
Edit: Just noticed you were in your mid-20s. I wouldn't start worrying about final build slotting until you hit 50. Getting powers like tough and weave and frankenslotting Siphon Life for max heal and damage will be big difference makers. Ultimately, building for smash/lethal def bonuses will probably yield much more than targeting health and regen. -
Ahh, I had actually read about the no-3D thing, but forgot. I guess It might have been Imax vs non-Imax or some other format difference. I just saw on Fandango that there were at least two theaters and I think I assumed one was 3D. In any case. Glad I didn't go.
-
Now I'm asking myself, did he shoot up the 2D or 3D showing? There were two midnight showings in two different theaters (though it appears there were bullets that went through the walls into the other showing too.) I would have been in the 2D one... so bizarre.
I can honestly say I'm now a little freaked out at the prospect of going to the movies. It's irrational, but damnit it's there, stupid anxiety. Gonna take a while to process this. -
Early information is coming in on the shooter. Looks like he was a 24 yo PhD Neuroscience student at CU. Dropped out a month ago. Picture of him looks like a normal young man, who has a grin not dissimilar to that of Jared Loughner. Methinks untreated schizophrenia, mixed with cultural paranoia. Voices in your head + voices on talk radio= dangerous combination.
-
I can't stop thinking of this and wondering what I would have done in that theater. Would I have run? Would I have dropped down to the floor? I tend to sit in in the first 3 rows. I would have probably been toast. I might have been able to help someone, first aid-wise if I wasn't hurt (I'm an RN).

One who couldn't get a babysitter (and hopefully one with baby earplugs)

I'm feeling particularly lucky to be alive today. The theater in Aurora is MY theater. I was planning on attending the midnight showing there until I started getting a headache and decided to do a morning matinee instead. Best headache EVER.
Psychos suck. -
I'm thinking the Old Spice Guy.

One of the things that isn't elaborated on in the article, but that is key to the technology is that the mesh made from the spider-goat silk is bizarrely welcome in the human body. It is particularly unlikely to be rejected being ironically recognized as original equipment by the immune system. Supposedly there was brief, if any anti-rejection medication used, which is rare for organic-source transplants. Spider silk is some crazy material. One downside to reinforcing joints with the stuff is that it would potentially increase fractures as the bones become the "weak link" in an overloaded joint.
-
Phineas and Ferb is genius television. I will have words with anyone who says otherwise (and offer video and musical evidence in support of my claim.) I think this collaboration can only be sweet.
-
I read about research being done to splice spider silk-spinning genes into goat lactation anatomy at least 12 years ago and the agenda was for it to be used in production of reinforcing mesh for connective tissue, and other structures with some speculating it would be used preventively to reinforce at-risk joints in promising or currently successful athletes. And what's the first thing I hear about it's being used for, freaking bulletproof skin.
