That's strongly based on the legal copy I got for one of the CoH guides. It also appears to be what they use on their Paragon Studios site. Oddly, they don't mention the 'registered trademark" status of Paragon Studios on their own site, or I'd update it.

You're right. Some are saying BillZ's sig glorifies sexualized extreme violence against women. I disagree, but even if it did, it'd just be a drawing. Your sig, on the other hand, causes guys to bang their chins off their desks as they reflexively try to peek underneath. That's real violence against real people.

Doesn't matter if it was self-inflicted- my jaw still hurts, dammit!


EDIT: That's not really true. Sure, some guys probably did reflexively look for the pantyshot. I did not. I'm better than that. I was contributing to the collective male subconscious that was trying to will a zipper to burst.

My distaste for general graphic depictions of impaling aside, the "woman" being impaled is a rather accurate depiction of the game's Lilitu... and pretty close to many of the generic succubi found earlier in the game. Because of this, I'm not reading much sexual innuendo into the act of "impaling" based on the female demon character's state of dress.

Sometimes we read in more than we should. You've jokingly referred to Freud and psychoanalysis in other posts. There's the anecdote of Freud being questioned about his own oral fixation with a phallic object- he allegedly responds "Sometimes a Cigar's just a cigar." You can take that as simple denial or a lesson in the limitations of psychoanalysis or even a warning that when you're looking for a particular message, you'll start seeing it in everything you encounter. Maybe there's a little truth in all three.

I'm of the belief that whoever left the rather extremely judgmental message for BillZ was a bit too quick to judge and attributed a great deal more emotional weight to the image than would be the norm.

People will ignore the horns & tail & just focus on the chest if it lets them fulfill their preconceived notions of someone... or their need to feel persecuted.

Then again, the comments are anonymous. Maybe the commenter did have horns and a tail herself...


(Never liked the whole torso-impaling style in pics or movies myself, male or female, but that's more because it hits too close to home. That's my baggage, and not one to foist on someone else, though)

That's where I'm concerned. I know some people claim to have been banned for exploiting. It seems what the current dev regime did was come up with a lesser punishment than bannage (removing characters) after the fact, rather than using the punishment at hand, then applying it more liberally.
