  1. I have asked this before and I will ask again.

Is there a way to buy extra slots without a credit card? It seems I can pay for most other things without one why not this?
I can use a credit card but I dont want to register it with my account by buying subs as well pushing the total way up for extra slots for me?

Anyway I can just use a card without buying subs?

Please. I really want those slots.

    Am I Evil....?

    Lol. Perfectly acceptable.
Although there is the next level which is bringing a whole SG/VG just to kill one person which I think is a little extreme.

I had it done to me and for a while I attacked all members of said VG on sight with extreme prejudice.

Last night before i logged I zoned into Sirens on my stalker. Just the usuall afk'ers. One on vill side of said VG. Change to dev blaster just to tp>mine him.

Its a pvp zone. There is just that line where it can turn into griefing but then again that can be subjective too.
  3. So back in PVE world there is never a cross word spoken. Teams work like clockwork with the maximum in politeness and decorum.

Defender: " After you dear sir!"
Tanker "My pleasure, dear fellow! Here I Go!"
Energy Blaster "What ho this is spiffing fun what?"
Tanker "Sorry old chap, could you be nice enough to lessen the amount of knock back on these blighters?"
Energy Blaster "Oh how awfull of me! Please allow me to apologize!"

    Etc..etc......

Actually placate is pretty easy to avoid. Hit stalker with DoT and placate does nada.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, 'cos Stalkers have absolutely no defense against AoEs and the only DoT a katana Scrapper has is an AoE.

I always love the way that PvPers tend to come out with statements like "oh it's easy to combat tactic X, you just..." ignoring the fact that not everyone can actually do what they are talking about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow maybe you shouldnt pvp. Pretty harsh reaction there.
I was speaking from experience, a lot of times placate does nothing for me.
If you read past the first line of the post you might have noticed I agree with most non pvp'ers complaints about why they dont pvp. I think stalkers are very skewed in implementation and have a huge effect on overall pvp.
  5. Actually placate is pretty easy to avoid. Hit stalker with DoT and placate does nada.

I do like pvp in heroes. Well to be accurate i like the concept and I enjoy it with certain team set ups.

There are huge problems with it and some of them have been pointed out. I think the first problem to address is getting more ppl into pvp be it zonal or arena.
Big problem that has been mentioned is stalkers and now to a lesser degree Forts. Stalkers are a pure pvp solo build. New players are put off by instant deaths from an unknown assailant.
And from a villains perspective fire/nrg blasters are nearly as bad. Two attack chains will kill practically anything.
This will be a lot of players enduring memory of pvp and will probably never return.
The list goes on of problems with pvp but I think the accesiblity issues should be adressed first.

And beyond the instant death mechanic as has been said repeatedly there is just no incentive for non pvp'rs to enter the zone.

In the 15mnths I have been playing there has been zero attention to pvp. All the zones are flawed and need attention.

And imo cimer is awfull. A TF length arc just to gain entry which u must repeat on every toon. Then you get there for zero content and the lag tf. I would much rather the pvp zones had a revamp than more half baked and badly programmed zones.

Back to the OP, yes as much as I enjoy pvp I must agree that rather than faceplanting pvp never got off the ground.
  6. I have never experienced or looked at these offline systems but I cant see a need for it in CoX. Leveling is easy enough when u get in a team. I think a better idea would be to update the team browser. Option to just search for team leaders with team sizes. Will save huge amounts of time and get more people into teams. In over a year of playing I am still bemused by the origin filter. What earthly reason would you need to use that?
  7. I dont see the problem tbh. I have a archery/dev blaster at 42 and working on an TA/Ice defender atm.
All you need is a herding tank. Herd>kill?
If u arent getting off all your powers before the fight is over all to the better of the team surely?
Atm on my TA defebcer it is only 23 so I cant comment on further but i have found myself laying down immobs at the opener then if the fight is spread out I target bosses and Lt's to debuff and further immob them out of the fight. If they are all together I just let rip.

I know what u mean about it not being flashy or obvious but you do have an effect on the fight.

Same with my blaster, I move between AoE and single targets all the time depending on the pace of the fighting. I feel that I am contributing to the team beyond the satisfying moments of mobs huddled together with rain of arrows.

TA isnt perfect but is far from a bad set imo. Maybe if there was more green glowy flashy stuff going on it would seem better but imo would detract from one of the reasons I love archery sets.
  8. Yeh thats what i thought. Its my only high blaster so I want to do some casual pvp with it. I am gonna do the whole set in TD. Never know it could give me a boost here and there.
    Thanks for the advice.
  9. What is the better power for gaussian chance for build up?
    Aim or Targeting drone?

Problems with market imo are caused by ppl playing the market.

[/ QUOTE ]Problems with some salvage prices, certainly, but less so with the rising prices of the most wanted items like numina/miracle uniques and purples.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. People playing with the market just annoy me :P
Inf is a lot easier to come by though nowadays. And I get a fair drop rate on uniques no matter what lvl toon i play. Yesterday I got 2 of that 3% def recipe in one mission on a 17 toon.

Made 150m last week without any farming of any description. Just drops from normal missions and i think one or maybe two katy TF's.

And beyond that unless you pvp how needed is it to pimp your toons?

Farming has an effect on the game overall undeniably but I dont see how it should be such a problem to non farmers truthfully. I dont mind people farming but I find it too dull and a waste of my game time. The only reason I want to buy lots of recipes is for pvp. But then again I get by with what I have and have fun.
  11. Problems with market imo are caused by ppl playing the market. You have seen it recently after 2x XP with americans buying up certain salvage and cornering the market. They have a forum on US where they gloat about doing it.
Farmers put items onto the market for sale.

I dont see a direct link to farming and playing the market.

    PVP last night

    I was trying!!
Funniest moment was poison MM makin you puke and your toggles dropping :P

    PVP build needed

Well thats it. Dwarf and lightform are your only mez protect. Buffed you can stay in human form as long as your buffs are up. Soon as they are down unless you are teamed with 5+ trollers the slightest mez will hit you.

I understand this is the same for blasters but lets face it, Khelds cant pump out anywhere near the same damage without very specific team conditions so I dont see the trade off.

Also I dont have a problem with Voids etc.. I just wanted to know how that works compared with the VEATs? The argument was always to balance out the AT but looking at VEATs they are just uber with no drawbacks.

It seems like in fortunata's the devs have tailor made them for pvp whereas khelds are widely regarded as a joke in pvp.

Now we have VEATs I think the hero epics need looking at. I dont see how a mez toggle will suddenly make khelds gamebreaking, In fact I think a lot more people would dust off their khelds and play them in PvE and PvP.

A PB is not really your best PvP option

    [/ QUOTE ]

True enough, but if people already now can say that the PB/WS are worthless in PVP, then i somewhat would say we have the right to demand something better, since it's unbalanced.

I mean the VEAT Widows are Naturals at PVP, i'v seen widows tear apart 2-3 heroes in a matter of seconds...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually I been thinking about what you said. Yeh isnt it time they sorted khelds out now? All the arguments against khelds getting a REAL mez prot power are now laughable when you look at VEATs. VEATs have no weakness, no cysts/voids/quantums. Nothing. In fact I feel they are overpowered.
They can build HUGE defense, they have ranged mag 4 mezzes and complete mez prot in line with melee toons.
So where does that leave Khelds? And where does that leave all the arguments against them getting mez prot?
  15. Charnell

    PVP build needed

Yeh I agree. VEATs compliment a team but function fine solo. Khelds pretty much depend on a big team and also the AT make up of the team.
    And khelds also get quantums/voids/cysts.
  16. If you are going to pvp imo take these pools-
    Leaping
    Speed
    Fitness
Then either leadership or stealth pool down to how you want to play it. If u go stealth take phase.
You will need SS+SJ for full mobility in pvp but it can be hard to get both in for sirens.
Hasten would be usefull in both pve and pvp for obvious reasons. Having BU+AIM Rain of Arrows up every 30 or so seconds will make you very popular in pve teams.
Or not as you will shred most mobs before anyone gets a chance to attack them :P

    RV Super Rumble

    Oooh I love RV!
One more lvl on my blaster and I can have a new toon in there!
And I dont mind switching to my brute if needed.
  18. I think you have to resign yourself to the fact that in duels if u meet the wrong powerset with a good player u may well have little chance to win.
But then again there is nothing more satisfying than either defeating or making a good show of yourself against your personal rock, paper or scissor.

All good fun either way imo.
  19. Charnell

    PVP build needed

I would still say dwarf is worth keeping in there.
I was playing around with my PB in pvp and human only build was nowhere near the survivability with dwarf.
U dont have to go mad with dwarf slotting but for one power choice u get - Mez prot, heal and a TP escape route.

Also a kheld underperforms without a team. For solo zonal pvp I dont think it is very good. With a team and buffs a PB can start to be dangerous.
  20. Yeh cya Sniff. Was fun chasing/running from your stalker in RV.
    GL dude.
  21. I would be interested in that. 1mill is nothing and it sounds like fun.

Just one toon can enter though?
  22. Charnell

    Bane PvP?

Well from my pvp toon experience I now pick sets/builds partly on what I think looks fun to play.
With the murmurs of PvP being looked at more by the devs I think nowadays it could be upsetting if you pick sets purely as they are currently the highest performers.

Also big bonus for me with spiders is they look way cooler than forts/widows imo :P
  23. Yeh thanks. About what I thought. Argument ended up that DoT isnt counted for spike. I suppose thats down to opinion but I still think fire has the biggest [censored] spike in my experience.

Playing my wp brute I feel quite tough till a fire/em zones in lol. Then I feel very squishy very quickly. RUN!
  24. Had a friendly discussion in RV. And from what I can see in mids and through playing I have always thought fire/em was by far the highest spike damage from all the blaster sets.
Someone else argues that ice is better.
I am aware that ice is very good but i thought that was due to ice secondary effects rather than sheer spike damage?

Anyone got figures or opinions to resolve this argument?
