Is there any other way to pay for extra slots than credit card?
-
Spin? [censored] u talking about?
Fire/em should be fine. Em isnt quite as uber as it was but you will still deal damage if u can catch up with anyone. The two big hitters come later on though so realistically I wouldnt bother with sirens but should do ok in warburg and RV.
In fire 6 slot healing flames asap and make sure u get hasten. Burn can be nice for duels too. And take leaping pool for acrobatics or stock up on KB IOs if u dont want to be knocked around like a rag doll.
Temp prot is a waste of a power.
The rez can be good for comedy value but I prefer to take powers to keep me alive. But can be good if you just got ganked and they still stood around you.
Oh also tough from the fighting pool is good if u can fit it in. -

Sonic Energy Blaster looks kinda stunning!

Wow how helpfull to the OP.
EM secondary is very good for pvp. Sonic isnt that great tho. I am not well versed in pvp blasters but Sonic doesnt have enough range or heavy hitting attacks from a quick look at the set.
If u want a toon that performs well in pvp setwise i think fire/em or ice/em are the best for blasters. If u want a scrapper spines/regen does ok due to ranged attacks and immob and being pretty tough.
There are a lot of troller and def combo's that can be very good but i dont know which sets to suggest. I think ill/therm troller is popular at the moment.
There are loads of sets that work in pvp but i think player ability and preference count a lot.
Oh but forget warshades and peacebringers. WS is completely useless and PB can survive but struggles to kill anything.
Now they have hammered the last nail into melee for pvp I wouldnt really advise anything bar a spines scrapper. You will survive in casual pvp but as soon as you come up against half decent players you will die quick enough. And lack of any decent ranged attacks mean you will spend 90% of your time chasing ranged toons trying to hit them. They can be fun for fight clubs which are popular in zones but even then a troller or defender will pretty much destroy most if not all melee toons in a duel.
That is all just my opinion and I am just a casual pvp'er myself so hopefully a more experienced player can give u better advice. Or just say lol etc to show u how experienced they are. -
For me I dont habitually check peoples builds as soon as they join a team.
If i am teaming with a tanker the only thing I take notice of is how well they are holding the aggro for the team. It is perfectly possible to hold aggro without taunt due to skill and build.
On the same lines though it is perfectly possible for a tanker with taunt to not hold the aggro through lack of skill.
That is for me the important factors. If a tank is plainly not holding aggro I dont think there is any problem of discussing this with them. If they dont like filling the role of tanker dont roll a tank, or at very least dont join teams expecting a tanker.
I have been a musician for some time and I think a suitable analogy for a tanker is the drummer. The drummer is always the building block for a band. A band with a bad drummer will always be a bad band no matter the skill of the other band members. And vice versa a band with a great drummer will push the whole band to a higher level. -

So basically you want to lock a zone out to anyone that's not a Scrapper or Brute, two ATs that are very capable of taking part in pvp to start with. I know there's plenty say that they are at a disadvantage in pvp but sorry thats not my experience. They can close from outside most sqishies targetting range with SS/Quickness and two shot you before you can get a power to activate in response.
I'm sorry but this gets a very big thumbs down from me - if you want a scrapper/brute pvp match try the arena

Im afraid your experience must be a tad limited then, because 9/10 range > melee
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes melee gets pwned by ranged. After a fair amount of pvp experience I have finally decided to only lvl ranged toons from now on. Just to compete.
I like my brute, and it can be fun to play in zonal but as soon as a fire/em blaster zones in I usually log out. Not very fun getting 2 shotted on a brute. -
Yeh otherwise you miss out on one of my favourite tanker sets. I much preferred fire/fire over ice.
Also imo i prefer res sets to def as they work in a more reliable way. At least to my way of playing. -

Leave the def to invun, ice and stone tankers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't say that to stone tanks. the numbers for defense and resistance I got from mine in granite armor was around 40% defense across everything but psi. Damage Resistance you'll easily cap at 95% smashing/lethal, everything but psi resistance is around 80-83%. Have not had any major endurance problems unless there's alot of sappers.
Also have an ice melee/fire aura tank, so much fun. It's something like 20sec's recharge on ice patch, 18 seconds on burn. The Rarity that healing flames is needed its on 20 second recharge with 3 health IO's and hasten slotted with 3 recharge IO's.

I dont understand your post. Surely your own statements support the quoted statement? I am confused. -
Yeh I am up for it if i am around. Got a brute and a scrapper at 50.
Arena sounds like a better idea.
Maybe run a few different nights for different ATs?
LoL khelds vs SoA. -
With that build posted if u turn all your toggles on your end would dissapear in 2 attacks.
Fire/fire tanks can be amazing toons. I can see your point about having fun and I too prefer to build my toons for myself rather than going for maxxed out builds. I like pvp but I tend to just pick sets i like and make them work as best I can in pvp.
But flurry, weave and assault are just a waste of your end imo.
As has been said forget about def. Go for more damage. Try shuffling your build around and drop those 3 powers and get the pyre epic.
Also hasten is excellent for a fire tanker.
Fire/fire/fire is an amazing toon if you work on the build. HUGE damage output and great survivability. -
Yeh melee will be a complete waste of time now.
Why they are nerfing melee when blasters>pvp I dont understand. -
Well i agree EM needed a nerf but yeh i am just about to get my ice/em tanker to 50. I know melee is a bit lol in pvp but i prefer it.
Yup seems like i might as well bite the bullet and make a blaster -
You can recover end. Pop blues and your off. I am talking a few seconds downtime between LF crash and being back in action.
The only danger is crashing in the middle of a mob. -
What does it mean when you attack and absorbed comes up?
What buffs or powers do this? -
Yeh no rooting is great in light form. My favourite PB build up to now is human/dwarf. Human in light form dishing it out>light form drops into dwarf then before you know it light form up again.
I just feel invincible. Till some psi mobs suddenly pound me and I actually have to use some heals :P -
Well in casual pvp you can play it by ear i suppose. I have been in pug in RV against maybe a few members of Vindi/Fata with maybe waaaambulance and another buffer/healer and even after repeated wipes and constant calls from me to target the corrupters my team repeatedly attack brutes or any other target first.
Pretty pointless really as they have zero chance of winning or even taking down one of them.
Maybe as most well played buffers will be extremely evasive the newbs switch to more static targets.
In RV i think i see villains with better target prioritys. Good job really as hero's now pwn villains buffwise. -
I found fire/fire tanker pretty easy to lvl. Solo or in teams. Tbh at some points i didnt care either way because it just felt like driving a steamroller. Only difference was that a team would speed it up a bit.
Herd>kill>repeat.
A bit of a struggle up to 25 but from then on it is pretty easy. -
So does this mean def really is useless in pvp?
-
Yeh fire x3 just eats mobs up. SS/WP works better on a brute because of fury.
-
Yeh PvP needs serious attention.
Power balancing does seem to be getting a little attention. And imo I can live with inevitable imbalances with that.
But I 100% agree with pervious comments. Stop wasting time on pointless zones that will be empty in 2 months. Cimer imo is an absolute waste of space. Badly programmed at that. The lag in some of the TF is, to put it politely F'ing insulting.
Maybe the devs should finally make a LEVEL 50 PVP ZONE. Or fix RV.
And i agree, its time to either put some weight behing the pvp in game or just delete it. And without the pvp the game is dead.
Sry for "doom" -
Me too
Sounds like fun. Might have a bottle of wine too ;p -
And pvp continues to slide down the drain.
Not quite related but someone in RV last night was asking me questions. I spent some time with him and i think i helped him a little with pvp.
Another thing I tend to do is, if i am fighting someone with a glaring hole in their build I will exploit it obviously for a few kills but try to tell them politely where they need to change something. Ppl without acrobatics or similar holes.
PvP for me is most exciting against equal or better oponents who are up for a scrap. -
Just wanted to add on my 50 scrap i took leadership/body mastery.
Just wanted to do something different this time.
Stealth is a possibility. -
Phase on a scrapper??
Well i know its hard to do but would like to get it a bit general purpose pvp/pve.
Doesnt consume help with end chim? -
Yeh its just the way it is.
I know from both sides how it works.
I do attack ppl on site depending on my mood. I do attack ppl farming but if they ask or state that they are farming I will tend to leave them alone.
I farmed pillboxes on my brute from 40-50 and got attacked quite a lot.
Once you get a gank squad in you have two options - have some pvp fun or leave zone and do something else for a while.
Constantly spamming broadcast about being left alone can be like a red rag to a bull. I saw a tanker in RV a few weeks back and i 'think' it was sniff stalked him. He said plz leave me alone now then repeatedly kept rezzing in zone and kept getting killed. Tbh it was extremely funny. Why he didnt go to base to rez was a mystery to me.
It IS a pvp zone. If you really dont want to be attacked by other players DO NOT ENTER. That said with our smaller population I do think a more sensible approach is to try and draw ppl in rather than put them off pvp permanently.
And any experienced pvp'er knows the difference between a newb and a regular.
