That is the case. I used a tree like that, but it didn't stop every kind of control. It just made the BUTTON4 POPMENU bind stop working until I typed it again.

I expected this to be another Watchmen or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and that is about what it is.
It's got lots that goes for it but doesn't quite click, primarily due to pacing, both of the plot and of some individual scenes. The result is a great nerd movie that can be difficult to watch with a group of non-fans (well, Hitchhiker's wasn't great, but similar principle).
Scott Pilgrim is not a property I knew well before the movie, unlike those, but even without reading it I could tell the pacing trouble. The early parts of the movie are occasionally entertaining but slow. Then the first ex shows up and has an absolutely incredible scene that had even skeptical non-fans roaring. The movie was incredible for the first ex, great with the 2nd, good with the 3rd, awkward and annoying with the 4th, rushed with the 5th and 6th, and something of an overlong mixed bag with the 7th. Nega Scott was much more entertaining than the 7th ex IMO.
To read what some say about the movie being too driven by the fights, I suppose they are correct, because to me that was the whole movie, coming to it not having read the book. Overall I think this is a good and recommendable movie however, probably better than Watchmen and better than Hitchiker's as movies go, and makes me want to read the book.
IMO, executives are never who you want guiding. A skilled editor could have helped however. -
Try using this while standing in the tuatha army fighting Lady Winter. It's fun!

Oh wow, these are great. I wanted more tech and more glow, and these are both!
-
YES.
I wouldn't be so insistent if they just opened the ski chalet permanently though. It's the mean reason I want it extended. -
Sometimes in a beta you can hear people claiming that certain things are as intended and they like to talk that way without specifying it as their opinion, or frame speculation as fact.
If you join it after those people and can't find any official statement to refute it, eww. -
If you use just SOs or low priced IOs, MM is the easiest way to solo x8.
However, if you have the INF a Scrapper or Brute can do it faster. Dominators are next, and if you can handle the mez, Controllers, Blasters, and Corrs can definitely do it at least as fast.
Every other AT can enhance their offense and defense with bonuses, while MMs get little but defensive use of recharge, and set defense helps less too. -
Ninjistu for its tech utility powers in addition to dodge is the best secondary IMO

I'd guess that they were exaggerating and actually mean something closer to what Dante said, if not joking entirely.

I can believe the theory that there's some concern about openness if not some new restrictions.
That combined with the silly new rule will just discourage community, which is not what you do if you are a long running competitor to a high budget newbie. -
Signed! Now make more of these with increasingly complex (though it's a hilarious statement of how bad the traditional MMO paradigm is that 'move' can be considered a complex gamelay mechanic) encounters!
Quote:Sounds like they should be the first of the superhero MMOs to incorporate travel powers rather than suppress them. While I haven't played the encounter in question yet, the game is designed so that you fight by "standing still and clicking your power buttons over and over". If they want people to fight on the move they should first make it possible to actually do so.
Here's a hint, DCUO is not it, and has suppression worse than the others. Eventually somebody will make a game that does it right. Who will it be? -
Quote:That is what I was thinking but didn't say due to never watching Lost and only watching the premiere of the show.I think when SGU was conceived, it was during the success of not only BSG but Lost but near their end. Slow moving stories full of characters, many who are morally ambiguous and basically didn't want to be where they were, trying to make the best of a bad situation. Not surprising that a network tried to take the formula for a show that works and do it again.
Problem is there is a threshold of how much dark, depressing TV we are willing to watch during an economic downturn. I commented last week that the holiday specials of Eureka and Warehouse 13 were breaths of fresh air compared to the endless stream of serious dramas.
Drawn out shows drenched in melancholy aren't doing well anymore. So the pendulum will swing back to episodic shows with 95% happy endings and clear cut heroes and villains.
Bit I did read an interview about how they gave up another season of Atlantis to start a drama show that would be 'like Lost' and attract a 'hipper audience.'
Yeah, that sort of blatant copying and trend following often results in successful shows and is never obvious to said hipper audiences! -
The chest slider has been talked about a ton, so I think armor is the more important subject.
Please, more large armors.

Newer team is better at it as usual, but when people ask about shoulder animals and rabbit ears and get as a response 'we didn't expect them to be demanded,' that's at the least a sexist answer even if the real reason was limited resources.

Quote:If it would require a whole new system since toggles can't work with multiple targets, it would not necessarily have the same endurance or location requirements as toggles.Um... no thanks.
I'm just sitting here thinking about a "speed boost toggle." I'd much rather set and forget - and NOT have my END constantly drained by it. Aside from the mentioned technical issues. And, of course, getting mezzed and having them drop when someone may actually need them on (thus them getting the buff in the first place.)
No, no thanks.
Edit: Plus... speed boost? Heh. People complain now about having to take a few seconds to apply it. Toggle it? *SB* *Team runs out of range since you're not affected.* *toggles drop* *Team demands SB again* /rinse /repeat.
What's being suggested here is a whole new type of power. I suspect it would be easier to create a system for users cancelling buffs than to create the system being suggested, but if not the OP's system is probably better. -
Quote:If only more kins were like you.My Kin characters have a tray dedicated to SB. I created macros SB1- SB8 that select a teammate and give speed boost.
At the start of a team, I ask who doesn't want SB. I move those macro buttons representing their positions in the team window (and my own) to the right side of the tray (starting at slot zero and working backwards.)
The ones who want it, start in slot 1 and work forwards. The tank(s) get the first slots. I then apply SB by double clicking the macro (since 1 click won't do it) starting in slot 1 to the empty slot.
Using Herostats, I can tell when the buff is about to end, and re-apply. Since I have 2 recharges in SB, it takes a few seconds to apply all the buffs. If someone isn't close enough to me, they miss that round. If I am heavily engaged in fighting or surviving, oh well, I'll do it when I am free.
I've really only had one person bug me for SB, he was my best friend.. and I no long play with him. No one else has complained.
SB PLZ
Quote:To play devil's advocate: How would a longer duration make the game more fun for those that don't like or want the buff?
I think they should try to make a system through which powers can be flagged as cancelable, apply flag to the buffbot powers, and increase their duration. -
Quote:If they're asking you every 20 seconds, you obviously aren't buffing them.Instead of asking me for it every 20 seconds
I have other powers too! Im not a speed boost machine AHHHHHH!!!!
...just had to get that off my chest
Better SB mechanics are needed so they aren't a chore. -
Central core of why it is stupid:
1. Tourists get an advantage that is entirely about access, not economics.
2. Natives get an advantage that is entirely about economics, not access.
It's like giving people who don't take any travel power double rewards. You can't balance apples with oranges, especially if what you are balancing is supposed to be about concept. -
If you want to buy anything, see how profitable it is, and buy 10 or 20 to craft and flip.
Ultimate technique for the lazy marketeer. -
They're probably going to make Praetorian 30-50 zones with Primal access too.
-
If they improved the TF system so people could be invited during it, such complaints might be resolved.

Quote:Bingo. I didn't even get through the first 2-parter.I can't say that I'm particularly surprised. I've found SGU to be poorly written and filled with a cast of unlikeable characters.
It was Stargate's version of Voyager, even down to the unlikeable roster. Even though Stargate went through an 'original movie,' a 'next version,' and a 'spinoff centered around a distant base,' I've got to guess that emulating Voyager wasn't intentional.
The producers cancelled Atlantis because they thought Universe would appeal to a wider audience, essentially ignoring the existing fanbase and killing the franchise. They deserve much more of the blame than SyFy. -
