  1. Proof that they DO need to merge the euros into NA!
  2. Is there any way to tell how many, approximately, are online? Searches cap at 50 at the moment.
  3. So pleased that they listened and kept the recharge the same.

How do the devs put up with these players? They're getting increasingly incompetent.

The obvious answer is BECAUSE THE DEVS SAID SO. Do you need a clue bat for that? You're like one of those PVPers who can't learn new mechanics. Obviously, this was done to improve the game, but you'd know that if you had any idea what the industry is about.

Hey I was just asking for costume advice!

The story of the nothing/traps is indeed awesome however.
  5. It's hard to say what will go up with the ability to buy merits in the alignment lounges. The only prediction that would be an easy call is pool c becoming easier to get.
  6. Sold to Munkilord. Thanks.

Also have multiple Panaceas and Javelins.

    And Scrapper Hibernate.
  8. The pools were a copy and paste, then replace redundant powers process, basically, though I have no idea how the APPs dropped shields in 2 pools since blasters get them, or why single target attacks are in there.

Tankers, Brutes, Defenders, Corruptors, and to a lesser extent Stalkers and Controllers did fine with clones, and Dominators got some amazing replacement powers, but Blasters and Scrappers got lots of weird things, and MMs got extremely weird pools.
  9. Justice is the next most populous after Freedom and Virtue, if the sorting at login is to be believed. It's consistently near them at the last of the list.

Next most jumps at random. Triumph, strangely, jumps from least to 3rd sometimes.

So, it might be a good idea to try to make it 3 active by going to Justice.
  10. This is just to avoid 200m market fees. It's exactly 2b.
  11. Especially set bonuses, or powers like build up.

If I have tons of accuracy set bonuses, will Ice Storm or summoned powers use those bonuses, or should they be slotted for accuracy too? How long do those buffs apply to such a power, if they ever do? How much accuracy do such powers have unenhanced?
  12. Is there some kind of announcement post explaining this promo and hinting what times it gets posted?

    So... Stalkers.

Actually, what about making the crit chance related to the number of enemies nearby?

That would accomplish quite a lot of things:

    Improve team performance
Improve performance against tons of targets, which is key to Stalkers competing
Not influence solo PVP unless the stalker gets double teamed, in which case they could use some more buffing anyway

Adding a more predictable assassin's debuff and fear would help too, since it's not 100%.

A big discussion about it is there.

The quick version is that villainy is NOT vileness. Villainy encompasses being an antagonist in many forms. They can have tons of possible motivations.

Most well conceived villains are heroes in their own mind and would not do random bad things just so they can show off how evil they are. In fact if they do it's among the quickest signs of a bad writer.

  15. I think you can do this, to a degree. There may be some randomness and luring involved.

Sort of. But there are also other reasons:

    1. Any time I might want a stalker, for TFs, not regular teams, there's no particular reason to target them rather than a VEAT or blaster.

    2. In general I would try to get buffs first, a tank if it's the type of TF that needs it, and then other ATs join as random people who ask while I search for buffs.

    3. To be honest, when I make a hero team scrappers are usually the last thing I target too, and that is probably the AT with the highest satisfaction rate.
  17. Just no to more patrons, hero or otherwise. If vills can use APPs now, there is no reason to add more pools that are of limited concept usefulness. This is why I posted some alternatives for those who find it a balance issue, such as an arc that unlocks them.

I don't know why companies still prefer to make deals with GameStop with such inconsistent execution, I feel they would save money on marketing if they keep deals in-house when possible (NCSoft Store Online), especially if GameStop has no idea the preorder is happening (I checked my local store just for laughs. They have no idea about Going Rogue where I live, other than Sarah Palin jokes, then the manager remembered my face from before as I left and had Security stop and escort me out of the mall... just sad).
Did that happen? That's almost unbelievable. How can they rip your receipt and not be in breach of contract? Did you get a refund of the preorder price?

Those types of things are way WAY expensive and it wouldn't be worth it. If anything, ads should be on gaming and comic book websites and maybe some comic book ads (way cheaper, and focused more on the proper demographics). TV and movie stuff is way beyond what CoX's budget will allow, even with NCSoft ponying up more cash like they have been.

Remember, WoW has so much money they can afford to piss it away like that.
You're the first I've seen other than myself boosting banner ads and they are the most appropriate venue to GR advertising.

I sometimes search for specific ATs to invite, and don't often search for stalker. The others are not that useful to a team, but there is no way to filter those by build. Most scrappers, blasters, and brutes can do things other than single target, while non-elec stalkers have essentially 1 thing they can do well, and that 1 thing becomes less useful the bigger the team is.

An exception would be duoing. As a bots/dark, I have a little of everything, except single target power. That makes stalkers complementary.

What stalkers need is another trick, and better performance in teams. So the buff was exactly the right idea - an AoE debuff mez and a buff while in a big team. It might just need a slight increase in reliability.

No I don't. They did use some, as it was adjusted during beta. You're changing the subject and debating a straw man as a distraction.

No it isn't. The merits are what they were when it launched. That answer would work for the other TFs.
That is what you said. It is what I replied to. At no point did I suggest that there was no use of data mining.

Beyond how the implementation of PPPs is among the worst game design ideas I've ever heard of (hey let's make them locked, but then make them overpowered in an attempt to balance that, which even if it works, will only make them overpowered for tweakers and underpowered for everybody else, then not actually make them overpowered, then say that we did, and add railroad concept and lots of insults of the player to go with it), this gets to the point.

APPs are dramatic increases in ability to hero ATs, and PPPs are nothing but bonuses. Some of that is because hero ATs are more specialized in the first place, so they have much more to gain, and some of it is because whoever made PPPs was just not remotely good at making them equivalent. They're more equitable now due to the additional powers in i13, but APPs got those too so it is just a case of diluting the suckiness of the PPPs.

Think of how you might hear a guide to blasters or controllers, the most specialized ATs, hype up your increase in performance with APPs. PPPs do not provide that sort of role-breaking. The strongest PPP, brute soul, is more complementary. It can improve them, but it does not radically change their playstyle like blaster and controller APPs do.
  23. I've only played stalkers up to level 18 but what immediately stands out to me is that they suck tons of energy if they get interrupted, and in general if you get interrupted it's because you're trying to attack in a difficult situation and everything is recharging. That probably happens less at higher levels, but the AT could be made far more accessible by removing energy cost for powers that you are not actually using. Shorter interrupt would improve 50 slotting.
  24. Targeted banner ads in comic sites, RPG sites, and gaming sites. They're cheap and can be effective if targeted well.
