Reached 903 last night. I was stuck at 899 for nearly two weeks and I really wanted to reach 900 before i19. I'll take a break for now, gain some more day jobs heroside, then pick up the chase again come i19.

Quote:If you're running Electric Armor you'll have access to Energize and Power Sink to smooth out endurance problems and heal. If you're still having endurance problems (which you might, although I don't know for sure, I've never played a War Mace/ELA) just buy the Numina's Convalescence unique. I've seen it lately under 100 mil. (I bought one at 70 mil last week) Since he saying he's on a budget, that probably will be enough. When you have 2 merits check the prices on Numina and Miracle +Recovery enhancements, they also sell for over 100 million. Obtain and sell whatever enhancement has the best price.
My suggestion, since you're going the cheap route, I'd go for recharge bonuses first, +Max HP, then Regen in IO set bonuses for an ELA Brute to get Energize up as fast as possible. I'm not saying S/L Defwnse wouldn't help. It's just a question of getting enough defense for it to keep you alive based on the amount of inf. you have to spend. 50 mil is probably enough to get enough IO's with S/L defense bonuses to really matter.
Isn't War Mace's key to survivability it's mitigation? Like it's Knockdown; much like SS's Foot Stomp and the Disorienting attacks? -
Quote:I wouldn't say either system is perfect. I prefer 3.5 myself. I'll say that they made magic and bonuses that stack/don't stack sometimes complicated, and the interaction of feats sometimes created problems in 3.5, you had to be a bit of a rules lawyer to understand the lingo. But I agree, what I always loved about 3.5 was the virtually endless supply of content and customization. Think of any character in mythology or pop culture are and 99% of the time you could build a character like that via cross-classing or prestige class. Both from a roleplaying aspect and power-gaming.Really? Because I loved the customization 3/3.5 offered. It felt like I was designing a person, as no two people are perfectly identical. 4e took that all away.
(Frenzied Berserker killing allies and other PC's.....good times!)
Sorry if my original thread breaks or broke forum posting rules. I just noticed it on the WoTC website a few days ago, tried to add two and two from the War Witch interview and remembering/reading somewhere that Posi played D&D, then forgetting Paragon Studios isn't part of Cryptic anymore, or whatever/however the relation was and now is. -
Fuel-efficancy be damned.

Ripped from the Wizards of the Coast website:

August 23, 2010 (Renton, Wash.) Two major Dungeons & Dragons franchises will meet for the first time when R.A. Salvatores Gauntlgrym releases on October 5, 2010. The first book in a new trilogy, Gauntlgrym introduces Salvatores signature character, Drizzt DoUrden, to the renowned city of Neverwinter from the hugely popular D&D video game franchise Neverwinter Nights.
The release of this first book in the Neverwinter trilogy lays the groundwork for a multi-platform event. Atari, one of the world's most recognized videogame publishers, and Cryptic Studios, the acclaimed developers behind City of Heroes, City of Villains, Champions Online and Star Trek Online, today announced the development of Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter for PC, a new online-centric roleplaying game based on Wizards of the Coast's Dungeons & Dragons global property and the beloved city of Neverwinter. The PC game is scheduled to release in Q4 2011. Also in the works for 2011, Wizards will be releasing a Neverwinter RPG and board game to coincide with the PC game and book trilogy.

Interesting news. I used to play 3.5 a while back, which is to say among my friends and myself no wants to DM anymore, or do the work necessary to DM well. An art I lack, but whenever one us feels like DMing a short campaign we try. Anyway, I just wanted if Positron's going to be involved with somehow. That interview with War Witch in the NY Post mentioned a rumor of Positron possibly being involved in another project. -

((OOC: Anybody seen Blood Creek? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mJNYSV-OXc))
I necro the dead horse with evil undead SS speak! -
And this is why powers like Increase Density, Thaw, and Clarity exist. I have never seen an Empath or /Pain Domination not take Clear Mind or Enforced Morale, but have seen many /Kinetics, /Thermals, and /Sonics pass on taking their Mez Resist granting powers, mostly at lower levels. Hopefully i19 might help remedy that. USE EM!

Who's the guy in the front next to the logo? -
You know what? Lately I have noticed these guys around Wentworths...

I haven't used any of my Alignment Merits yet, and I only have two. If I were to seriously farm for A-merits, I'd probably buy PvP IO's and flip instead of purples. Purples as far easier to acquire the PvP IO's, (at least for me since I do not PvP...) For me it's more profitable to farm the Council map for purples and also farm tickets in the AE. I try to diversify by selling Kinetic Combats, Reactive Armors, Rectified Reticles, Regenerative Tissue: +Regen, etc., along with any purples I drop.
Although lately the market has been pretty cold. Only thing I've noticed thats selling is salvage.
Pure speculation, but since i19 is coming soon, the market will probably pick up, so the price of purples could go up more.
With the market being cold and i19 on the horizion... it's why I'm holding onto my purples...for now. -
I have a DB/WP Brute that before the changes to fury, I played a lot. I still have it, and I'm playing with the build for i19 in Mids, in hopes to revitalize it. I used a pretty straight forward attack chain. BF -> Attack Vitals into Ball Lightning or Mu Lightning against foes that resist lethal damage, also using the Sweep combo when needed.
In terms of AoE, SS's Footstomp is still king. A high recharge build basically can spam it over and again. Footstomp will always beat the Sweep combo in terms of mitigation, because part of the sweep combo could miss. I've been debating of dropping the combo all together, I'm just not sure if I personally can take using the same attack pattern over and over again. Also when the extra damage I need to do with Attack Vitals is dependent on each attack landing to complete the combo for the extra DoT, its nice to fall back on 1000k Cuts for damage and mitigation.
But having Vengeful Strike, 1000k Cuts, and the Sweep Combo for knockdown, adds yet another layer of protection to WP's very diverse defenses. With IO's I have roughly 35% S/L Defense and 32.5% E/NE Defense without Kinetic Combats. (I'm choosing not to use them for now, my defense is good enough to pop a small purple when I need to to be capped.) That, added to the +HP, Resistances, and Regen should keep you very alive. Strength of Will is a good panic button.
So for a DB/WP Scrapper you will have a very survivable build, the only trade that I see is that you'll have slightly less HP than the Brute would, no double stacked Rage, and they'll hold aggro better. -
Maybe the Devs should make a breast-augmentation super-booster...

I was in Florida not too long ago. I was driving somewhere on I-95, there was this sick looking hearse with skulls and skeletons decorated on it; driving in front of me and then I noticed the bumper sticker that read: "Discount Redneck Funerals."
ABSOLUTELY F---ING GENIUS!! -
Slightly off topic but, can a lvl 50 exemp. down to a lower level to have better odds of rolling Kinetic Combats? If so, whats the optimial lvl to exemplar to?

For me its the damage badges. It's fair that I would be taking less damage than melee AT's. But because I have several +HP set bonuses and all the accolade powers, my MM that I've had for 33 long months has only 2 million plus in credit for damage badges.
*The fact that getting the Born in Battle badge works against you for getting any more damage taken badges really needs to be fixed Devs.*
Currently, other than Veteran badges, I do not think I those get on my own, without doing something lame like AFK damage farming. -
Just managed to complete that off my checklist, all AV defeat badges accounted for. Have to give a shout-out to , AhzLo, Miss Honey Dew, and Uber Golem for the help and teaming with me, thanks again. Now you PvPers can stop worring about me in RV, lulz. :P

I think the idea of wandering into the highest lvl PvP zone isn't exactly how some would want to spend their time playing and some just choose to avoid PvP altogether. I joined a PuG that was looking for badges in the AE building. So after we finished that, I threw the idea and my team for AV hunting in RV, and our team of 6 went in RV. At first our PuG and I were getting owned by other players, it was to be expected, you have to deal with it. A few of the teammates left, so we picked up anyone who was interested in zone. After a few deaths each, I guess they took pity on us and backed off. Recluse, Ghost Widow, and Mako down, Scirocco left.
If you're looking to get those badges either join a PuG that's already formed outside of RV(lvl 50) and simply ask, or pay attention the status in RV. If you notice your side is winning in terms of pillboxes, head into the zone. There's a chance you might be able to join a team, or throw the idea of hunting AV's/Heroes on the broadcast and form a team. -
Was that the Hydra just before the end of the trailer? at about 45 seconds.

I love the arena! I join a match and no one ever shows up for the scheduled match. A free badge every time!
