Granted, I was annoyed. I'm still annoyed. It's horrible way to end the evening. Moreso when you have people wanting only toons with certain powersets and IO sets, along with triple the wait to form an STF. And I did try to form one earlier, so it isn't from a lack of trying. But honestly, you just don't want anyone leading a group for an STF. I should have just passed on this from the get-go, as soon as I got to IP. What began as a nice idea, became a really annoying chore and I'm really not going to like it when I ask where is everyone? ...Oh right, it's Tuesday.

Originally I liked this idea, but now in practice I don't. When I saw lots of people waiting in IP, some for half an hour, I knew immediately this was not going to be fun at all. It caused too much competition for other archetypes that teams need, like Tanks and some kind of debuffer. And for those particular TFs, you need a balanced team. Not a specific powersets, but diverse ATs.
When I did finally get into a group for an STF. Things were going well, we managed to defeat the patrons, then Recluse wiped us out. We just could never get that window of time to drop the red tower and losing our tank prior to that mish did not help. So someone drops, and the rest of the team has 2.5 hours wasted. So tonight, I hate you Devs, I really frakking hate you this evening. I'm passing on this week's WTF, and the acronym truly suits it. -
50 extra Task Force runs is way too many.

It's something to be said for Tartakovsky to use the most basic elements of design for cartoon animation, and the have the show kick so much ***. In the television business or really any business for that matter, making something that simple and cost-effective is a godsend. To make something with such simplicity regarded as art, is a marvel in design. Samurai Jack looks so simple; using simple shapes, color, contrast, and space to give the illusion of dimension on what is actually flat space. Tartakovsky is a god, and does not nearly get the credit he deserves.

Quote:I managed to find quite a few teams running radio missions and mission arcs in Peregrine on Virtue server really at any given time, at least when I was online. I think because I was teaming alot with people who had not unlocked their Alpha slots, more incarnate shard drops ended up coming my way more. I was averaging 3 shards a mission.Really? I wouldn't have guessed that. I got nothing of interest on my 50 characters.... nothing. But my 40 claws guy is nearing incarnate interest.\
BTW: I didn't know you could get the gladiator's 3% def on tips... just the LoTG recharges.
And yes, you can get the Gladiators +3% Def IO Recipe from tips. It just takes for ever to farm up that many alignment merits (30) from tip missions, I think I may just convert reward merits in alignment merits, if I think it's really worth it. -
I haven't really gotten back to my Dark/Shield Scrapper yet. It's still missing a few IO's like LoTG's and such, the PVP IO if I feel like softcapping it. Whether I feel up to gathering the H/V Merits to buy it is another matter... I dunno yet. But yes Shield is very good. I also want my Night Widow to be perma-Hasten, and I need my accolades for my Regen scrapper I'm trying to build for PvP....yeah so many things I'm trying to juggle.
Meanwhile, I've been stockpiling incarnate shards for my Claws/SR Scrapper. My revealation, 2xp weekend was a very good weekend for getting shards. -
Image Comics is still around? and doing well? I ask, in a serious tone. I was never really into DC and Marvel going through high school and college, say for some of the more well known graphic novels. But I bought and read quite a bit of stuff from Image there for a while.

Quote:Which is why I am using less pets for that part of the Task Force. (Hmm... go petless? j/k) More debuffs and ranged damage. I might just bring nukes, just in cast my build plan doesn't work out.Blah, I gave up my Necro/Pain after doing BSF. I don't feel like using her for Apex or Tin Mage. I just don't think melee pets have any business being melee if they die in one hit. This goes the same for Ninjas. I may still play my 50 Merc/Storm and alpha her in the end.

Being that I am Necro/Dark/Soul MM, (and I plan on switching to Chill Mastery for this Task Force) most of my secondary and epic pool mez powers that I normally use, like my Holds, Immobilize, and Fear aren't quite as useful a) against +4's b) Praetorian mobs that inherently have mez protection. So I'm looking for alternatives for my powers that aren't quite as useful, at least for the Battle Maiden fight. 3-4 attempts in that part of the Task Force, and I haven't felt like I was doing enough, and I want my Master Run badges. I'll play around with a build in Mid's as post it as soon as I can, the weather as crappy again and I got home late last night.
Thank you for the input, everyone. -
I've been considering making use of my second or third build for my Necro/Dark MM for the Apex and Tin Mage TF's using other powers I normally would not use. I'm planning on using more ranged attacks. Dark Blast and Gloom. To make room for those attacks I'm not using all my pets, just Zombie Horde and Grave Knights, since my pets often die.
But I really wanted to hear any advice/suggestions if Black Hole might be a useful tool to keep BM's swords and minions phase shifted and from doing damage to me and potentially the team, allowing us to focus more on Battle Maiden herself. I don't know how long the phase duration is and does Black Hole function like other phase powers like PvP, where the is a duration where they cannot be phased? Has anyone tried using this? Use? or Do not use? -
It could also be that I just have too many Scrappers, and my Widow plays alot like a Claws/SR Scrapper... which I also have.
....
How many times have said the word "Scrapper?"
...Crap. >_< -
Quote:It is common for Brute to be asked to tank and for some secondary armor sets it's much easier for the Tanker than the Brute, from the extra HP and defense and resistance scaling, there are exceptions like Invulnerability and Stone Armor. I'm not hating on Brutes, its just... going from where my Brutes were to where the after the changes, I wasn't pleased with them. To me, Brutes have become an afterthought, especially since I can always take a Scrapper redside.Uh, that's kind of the point.
Other than damage mitigation, brutes have everything the tanker has but better...
Thinking about it more, this is coming from a min/max style player. If you're not interesting in IO's (to the OP), or spending a lot of influence, you can ignore me. There not much difference between the them, either way. Blueside bias perhaps. I was a redside player only when I first purchased this game, I finally came around to blueside and I said to myself, "WTH was I thinking?" -
I've lost my appeal for Brutes since the damage cap and fury changes. It's the visual thing with the gauge never going to full that bugs me, but I also like bigger orange numbers. Since then I've rolled 4 Scrappers, and to me other than damage output, Tankers have everything the Brute has but better. These days, if I wanted to make a melee character there's no hesitation. Scrapper.

Simply put, this is dumbest idea the NHL has ever come up with.

Quote:Maybe it's just me, but when I began to really make a determined effort to badge hunt. For my defeat badges Villain-side, I liked to run a Ouro mish to exemplar down while I hunted on the street for added inf. and drop rewards. Granted it took longer, but the rewards really helped back then. That was before AE buildings were in, so in essence that's how I farmed for influence those days. Exemplaring down for Marcone Bosses and Hellfrosts paid dividends for my very first toon moving past level 40, I had no problems buying SO's. Nowadays it's so easy getting influence.Siren's Call probably has the most Warrior bosses to streetsweep; it's a very rich badgehunting location, with Warrior bosses, Tsoo Blue Ink men (VERY rare hero-side), Ancestor Spirits, Sky Skiffs and generators, and oodles of Longbow/Arachnos (including Toxic Tarantulas and Seers). However, you are forced to fight them at-level there instead of whomping on greys, and you need to keep an eye out for other players. Striga has a fair number of Warrior and Family bosses, and they're easy to crush, if you prefer. Talos has a few, but they're very scattered / rare. The only real perk of doing it in Talos is that you don't need to go out of your way.
Like many defeat badges, the fastest way to find the targets is to run an 8-man mission against the target villain group. There aren't a whole lot of Warrior missions, but if you can get a group together for them (or are just hardcore enough to fight huge spawns by yourself) then it'd probably be faster than streetsweeping.
...
Do I sound old now? -
I'd say for your primary power set either Robotics or Thugs. For the secondary power set it's your call, every secondary is good, short of Trick Arrow for Masterminds so you really can't go wrong I think. I do agree Traps is probably the best, does the most against AV's and offering the most diversity with of debuffs, buffs, and some healing. I have seen Bots/Storm MM's that can pump out alot of damage in Task Forces.
-
Siren's Call. It didn't take too long there. Actually for red or blue side, I think that might be the best place, if you don't mind occasionally dealing with another player character.

Tom Hardy as Bane will work. I was expecting him to be Hugo Strange, so the Bane news is news to me. I finally saw Bronson not too long ago after a buddy of mine kept raving about him as Charles Bronson. I think he's developed some kind of weird mancrush on him though... Anyway, I thought the leading actress role was supposed to be Talia Al Ghul?

Quote:Should I rely on inherent regeneration via powers like Health and set IO's? Or can I just set Twilight Grasp to auto on one target? The real trick to farming the damage badges is to find a mission scenario that allows you to maximize the damage you can take per unit time without too much risk of getting killed. MMs are at a disadvantage for this because their total max HPs are lower than most other ATs. This means on average it takes them longer to rack up "damage taken" points than other ATs.
There's no real exact method for getting these badges. The key for a "squishy" type AT like a MM is to find a mission that has critters which do decent single-type damage without any extra Mez side effects. I found that using Rularru Brutes worked well for my squishies. I've heard CoT Guides are also a good choice. Some people have used the big Rikti Soldier bosses, but usually only ATs like Tanks, Brutes or Scrappers can handle that. Just experiment with it until you find a scenario that pushes your Regen to the limit to keep you alive hit after hit.
Good luck. -
Been kind of busy collecting incarnate shards, working on other toons, and being sick the last week, but lately I jumped back on the badge trail. Reached 1100 badges off of completing the Faathim TF last night. One more day job to go.
Any ideas how I can get my damage taken acheivement badges for a Necro/Dark MM? I haven't gotten my Unbreakable badge yet. (10,000,000 points of damage) I shudder to think how long it's going to take to get the Immortal badge...
