  1. I was in 5 B.A.F.'s and 3 Lambda Trials. Success in 1 of each. 2 BAF's the group failed at keeping too many escappees from escaping, 2 other runs ended where the endless reinforcements made it impossible to complete in order to defeat Nightstar and Siege simultaneously, the last run was smooth sailing. The 2 failed Lambda trials ended not having enough Acid and Pacification temps. The successful run, also earned me the Synchronized badge, we used 5 Pacification temps to complete, with like 10 minutes left on the clock to defeat Maruader, a kicka$$ run.

First impression: I think the first thing I'm going to unlock is the Judgement slot for the B.A.F. Trial. You might get overwhelmed by reinforcements without it, or least without some good AoE damage in the group. The Lambda Trial is very doable, as long as teams move quickly and get a sufficent amount of temps.

I don't like that these are right now the only way to acquire incarnate threads except conversion of shards, but I assume or hope there will be new ways/TF's/trials in the future to get incarnate threads.

    I like this issue.

P.S. for trials that do not allow most temporary powers to be used, I seem to drop a awful amount of temporary power recipes in them. I dropped 3 in run alone.
  2. I'm in. Talon Blue, Claws/Super Reflexes Scrapper, level 50, /w Alpha Slot.
  3. I'm running a T4 Musculature on my Claws/SR using a similar attack chain to what tektronics mentioned. In terms of DPS, The T4 Spiritual Alpha slot is better because it allows you to triple stack Follow Up; provided you have enough recharge beforehand in enhancements and IO set bonuses. So consider your budget for IO's before you choose. The new incarnate slots that are coming in the new issue will provide new ways to add DPS anyway. So either way, you will be doing alot of damage.
  4. I think soft capping toons because really popular went it was discovered you could make Invulnerability and Dark Armor toons immortal. Which in turn drove the prices of Kinetic Combat and Reactive Armor IO sets upward.

    Discuss.
I think we should feel fortunate that there IS another way to get PvP IO's, if you wanted them. However, when using alignment merits is the better way to get PvP IO's, than actually PvP'ing, something's definately wrong. But one the thing I've learned, the devs do not change drop rates or prices for merit purchases, so there isn't much point arguing about it.
  6. There isn't much different from either set damage-wise other than the ranged attacks for Claws. Having played both the only thing I dislike is when part of an attack combo misses for Dual Blades, if you use combos. I like both, I just like Claws a lot more.
  7. I wasn't around for pre-I13 PvP, I think. If I was, I barely PvP'ed back then. Anyway, the one thing that has been echoed in these dicussions is that you could PvP with just about any primary/secondary back then. While I don't mind that there's a clear PvP metagame right now, it could be a turn off that most powersets simply aren't useful for PvP. Even then, the current system feels like you have to build NOT for your primary and secondary, but your APP or PPP set instead (at least in RV, obviously).

I'm willing to adapt, since I am only now given PvP a shot. But in the brief time I've been playing, I felt like this could be so much better.
  8. A revamp of the other core Task Force would be a welcome change. Compared to Positron's updated Task Force the other five feel outdated now. It's the lack of story, unique battles, and the touch of cutscenes.
  9. For me the shard hunting left me burned out after getting the alpha slots slotted on all the toons I wanted to be incarnates. I haven't been playing much the last 2 weeks. Which is entirely my fault, but I'm really, really not looking forward to the next issue since there is going to be four new slots to unlock. I know which toon I want to unlock the new stuff for first, but will I want to do it again is a question I'll answer later. 4 Slots is alot, and with my ADD mentality every slots needs to be top tier.
  10. Zone PvP: Nothing, other than temporary powers.

Arena: Other than the few other Arena badges I haven't gotten. Nothing.
  11. The strange man with the spoon won't go away. Please devs, help me....
  12. Good read. The criticism regarding PvP and bases was fair, but wasn't addressed...at all. I don't PvP much, but if it were more accessible and it did require not having to completely alter a build, or having make a new one to make it work, I'd go into a PvP zone more. I had a base when I first began playing CoX, I have long since abandoned it and deleted my SG since, A) my SG buddies all left this game and B) It was more or less a storage center for salvage and crafted enhancements. Whatever fuctions it could serve, or did serve, became pointless for a one man SG.

    DOOOOOOOM!

Ok, seriously. I think that if someone were to write a program that could read the market data over long periods of time for you, without writing the data out yourself. It would effectively make the savy marketers even stronger. I seriously doubt a sizable portion of the game community seriously works very hard marketting in this game. There's plenty of people who still do not wait, and place bids at buy it now prices (myself included). All this would do is make the uber marketters... gods.
  14. Speaking of sick DoT numbers, I have really been enjoying playing my Night Widow. Electrifying Fences -> Dart Burst -> Ball Lightning -> Spin.

    Fun.
  15. I guess I could roll another Scrapper. Invulnerability it is. I use inspys regardless of the secondary, but using only SO's might be interesting. I've got an idea. The first build will only use SO's, the second using generic IO enhancements, and the third one with set IO's.
  16. But before that fix the Pet AI's, for godsake.

I don't think Reward merits have lost their luster at all. It's how I still purchase my LotG +7.5% Recharge IO's. Yes, I could just run tips or just buy them on WW's. But it's nice having an additional source of income in game other than inf., especially since they can be earned easily tying into the process of getting your Task Force Commander Accolade. I think they're still very useful depending on how you use them.
  18. On the brightside it does finally provide a need for a Mastermind, right?

Last time I was on a BSF the team had two Dominators (I was one) which made the last room much more managable, allowing the rest of the team to focus on Reichsman. But yeah Cuda's SF is far harder than Khan's TF. I think the ambushes eventually stop though right? You could just keep clearing them until they stop, then go after Reichsman, if you have the time that is. May the force be with you, if you're attempting a Master run...

This wins. Can I sig this?
  20. Managed to nab a Notice and getting my Claws/SR Scrapper a Musculature Total Core Revamp.

The damage meter now goes to 11... (+1).

Yeah, those two TF's are hard....but out side of "needing" support (and that support can come along in a variety of ways, see the STF I did with a Traps MM, Poison MM, and 1 Rad. When everyone plays intelligently and there's teamwork, STF is pretty easy. You don't even have to have these complicated stategies, just have solid playing.

I do see SOMETIMES people saying that they need a specific AT, and I've even been turned down because I wasn't a debuffer, even though I played said traps MM (on an LGTF and NOT LR/STF so go figure). but you know what? That's okay, I wouldn't want to play with them anyway. Put it this way, if you want to bring that stalker on any TF, and you see @Ajax454 or @1 Minute to Midnight forming a TF, shoot me a tell and I'll gladly bring anyone along. I've done some pretty wonky team set ups. They can be the most fun.
In my experience, finding 8 people of intelligence in game or IRL to be rarity.

Most of my characters are not support and it's VERY rare I see a STF or LRSF forming that'll take a 7th scrapper or 5th tanker or what have you. They want support and even then they want very specific support. Seems even worse lately since I'm seeing some people requesting everyone be IO'd out or that everyone have an alpha slotted, etc etc.
Thank you. That perfectly sums up how I feel about those two particular Task Forces.
