  1. My fire/rad has it slotted there. I Love it.

Do it and never look back

I will happily delete a Hecatomb: Chance for Negative Energy Damage IO, just as easily as I once tore apart a Mox Ruby and an Ancestral Recall in front of a group of other Magic players.

I'm hearing talk from several people that Confused Heroes on the Recluse Strike Force, specifically, will not damage each other.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't know one way or the other on that one - I've never been on a team that bothered to try confusing them, knowing that we could either sleep them or just wipe them out all at once.

I was speaking more of using the confusion to prevent the one you're working on from hitting you, since it's unlikely you'll have the available animation time to get two of them confused through PToD. Post i15, damage shouldn't be too much of an issue - I think someone calculated out a perma-Dom Fire/Fire at around 300 DPS (don't remember if they were including imps or not, and the thread is too long for me to want to dig through it since I don't remember whose post it was).

If you could break the game by sheer awesomeness it'd have been broken the first time a fire/rad ST was created.

*EDIT*2 Ooooh.... I believe when you sleep them they can fire one shot in a moment of wakefulness. Maybe I can sleep all 8, pull one. Then chain Mesmerize and fix myself up if/when they hit me... hm....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Possible. I've seen them straight slept so many times without so much as a myoclonic jerk, so that may just be the Devs messing with you. "They are watching you!"

I've never actually been on an RSF where we slept them. We always just suicide, teleport, stack venge and pwn face.

I added the word "private" simply to indicate "not on CoH boards". I guess it is misleading.

Scroll Down through this thread. That was pretty hardcore. Duo Imperious TF Invincible no temps, no Imperious, no Ranged blasting Nictus and no Confuse.

I've actually been working on it... in all honesty. There's a thread on the Repeat Offender private boards. Right now my odds aren't looking good. The Perma-Dom idea fell through because I could barely perma-hold 52 AVs and 53s seemed just out of reach. Right now I guess my best bet is to take a Brute and single pull the final mission. I don't have the right Brute at 50 to try though. I also don't want to practice single pulling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Perma-hold.....

Perma-sleep, perhaps? If theres a way, I bet you'll find it (even if there's not 'sposed to be, actually).

    [/ QUOTE ]

The brainstorming plan was to perma-sleep them with my mind dom. Fire one sleep, run far away, snipe one. Pull it far away and Perma-Hold it. I just was a tad short on being able to perma-hold one.

Hmm must not be that private because I've seen it or at least somewhere where you started brainstorming it. You were going to use a dom I believe.

Ding 38, about to be 39. I took them on an Imperious Task Force where they stood at the door and malefactored some 50s down to 38. Essentially it was a 5-man Invincible Players Debuffed spawned for 8 ITF. We mauled it. Though only got about 1 level worth of XP for the Pacters.

A billion is plenty to get started.

I move a set or two a week. The profit margin's high enough that if you can keep up with that pace, you'll have enough for 3 sets by the end of July.

I was under the impression he was just looking to buy them not flip /marketeer to reach them..
If I'm wrong take iltat's advice here.. he's much richer than I.

you can't come to the market forums and say "cheaper". too many greedy people here for that and you'll just get flamed. trust me. (i agree wityh you though) everything is too high. i'll never spend those prices.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Great, then you'll never get the purples, and your toon will never be as good as mine. I really don't care, because someone else will pay those prices. Neener neener neener!

    Now that's an ebil response.

I'll let you in on a little secret, more of teh nefarious farmers doing their thing would drive that price down. With more farmers producing more supply, us ebil marketeers would be competing with one another, stabilizing the markets and driving the prices down. I do trade in purples, and I'll tell you, there's nothing I CAN do to bring prices down. The prices get driven up by BUYERS that are competing to make sure that they have the highest bid in on a rare item. I could put a Panacea proc up for 1 inf, and it would still probably sell for hundreds of millions.

I've done that and got 300m.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was just being thorough, since if a person is looking for mid-level drops only (for example) you'll have a better chance from level 26 to 34. The AE listing can be misleading that way.

    Actually there is overlap:

    [ QUOTE ]
There are three level brackets: Low-Level, Mid-Level, and High-Level.

Low-Level invention salvage may be dropped by enemies from levels 4-25.
Mid-Level salvage may be dropped by enemies level 20-39.
High-Level salvage may be dropped by enemies level 35+.

Note that these ranges overlap. Enemies in an overlap might drop invention salvage from either valid bracket.

  18. I have no idea what you're saying.

Anytime you kill a player you have a chance to get a drop unless you've gotten one in the lasr 10 minutes. You must be within 3 levels of the other person to get a drop as well.

Just remimber if they Cap prices like a white salvage at 250, I will Vender it over losing the 10% in WW fees. People will stop posting items and making side markets a place to make X times more money as ppl look for a way toget it.

as soon as you pay the buy it noa price, your setting that up for someone else.

How is suggesting that the total number of purple drops remain the same while being less lopsidedly in the inventories of farmers "fail"?

    [/ QUOTE ]

As someone said on page 4, by putting a limit on how many purples a single toon can receive per length of time, you're potentially just cutting off part of what the farmers are picking up currently rather than shifting the drops they would be getting to the non-farmers.

To put it another way, non-farmers wouldn't be gaining more drops just because the farmers are getting locked out of them by a timer. The net result is fewer purple drops throughout the whole game, which translates into even fewer being on the market, and prices going even higher than the outrageous amounts they're going for now.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you'd bothered to actually read the whole idea, you'd see that limiting drops per character is only half of the idea, the other half being finding a way to make non farmers pick up the purple drop slack. Responding to an idea that specifically states "the total number of purple drops remain[s] the same" with "the net result is fewer purple drops throughout the whole game" just shows a lack of reading comprehension.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I saw that, but since you at no point put forth any real details about how to keep the total drops the same, I took it as moot for the time being.

I'd be happy to constructively discuss how you plan on not screwing non-farmers over who might occasionally go on a binge and play 12 hours straight on a weekend, while still making such a mechanic actually worthwhile to spend the time/resources to implement. Also, how does it work on teams? Since drops go to a random member of at eam, do they all get screwed if another one drops, or just the guy who caught the last one? Also, how would you address the fact that putting a timer on purple drops effectively takes the reward away from the person who's doing more of the "work" and shifting that reward to someone who isn't?

As someone else said, albeit a bit more abbrasively, you have to have at least the basic trappings of how to put it into practice, not just come up with a concept and expect everyone to agree with it.

Sorry, but the underpants-gnomish-type philosophy on profit (1. come up with arbitrary concept, 2. ???, 3. profit) doesn't fly in real discussions.
