    Yes. I made a character about a year and a half ago with this exact idea in mind.

    So far i've made a little less than 100 million.

    Since I made the character before turning off xp was an option, making initial money was a matter of luck. While running through Atlas Park, Longbow shot up a few Hellions nearby. For some reason the person they saved thanked me, by giving me 3 influence. I took that to the market and purchased 3 Bleeding Stones for 1 inf each back when that was possible with uncommon salvage. Taking that to the store, I sold it for 3,000. Did that a couple more times with uncommons, and buying a single high level recipe, confuse or taunt. A few trips later i had 50,000. From there I started salvage flipping my way.

    The major hurdle being a level 1 has 3 salvage slots, 1 transaction slot, and 1 recipe slot. After alot of low level salvage flipping, I had saved up around a half million. I carefully made my way to Steel Canyon to start working on a few 25-30 memorization badge for the extra salvage slots.

    Currently I have 11 salvage slots, 2 transaction slots, and the same single recipe slot. So far Salvage Flipping has been the only realistic way to make money. Its profitable, salvage is stackable in transaction slots, and the only way to gain additional transaction slots is through selling items with flipping being the quickest way. Its very slow going early on, even now with 2 transaction slots and 20 possible sales at once I have still have not got the Retailer Badge. Rare salvage is still the way I use to make money even though the AE caused rares to vanilla out at 500-800k. Profits are down but options are up.

    So Yes, it is possible to make money with zero xp and zero combat. I'd probably have more had I not lost interest in the character for 6 months, letting the old 60 day limit eat my stuff once or twice.

    I gave up on the idea of taking a low level toon to riches on a new server.. just didn't hold my interest long enough.
  3. I've just logged back into my Archery/Ice and decided I didn't really want to go the /ice route at all so I made this build. Thoughts/suggestions for any way I can squeak out a bit more performance from this build are welcomed.

    Please note that the Pocket D teleporter might not work until your character hits L3. This would be to prevent CoV characters from exiting the tutorial without first picking thier initial contact, and thus getting "all screwed up" in terms of the contact tree.

    Actually, it's to prevent players from exiting the tutorial with a mission that they cannot complete or clear in their active mission list, since they would not be able to communicate with the Breakout/Outbreak contact once they leave the tutorial zone.

    I think there was a person who posted on the forums who was telling his SG mates to enter the tutorial zone and then die and use the Base TP to get out of the tutorial, but they would have the mission in their mission list and couldn't clear it. From what I saw, the guy was an idiot about it, too. I just never understand the need to enter the tutorial just to glitch your way out of it. Seemed pretty stupid.

    Before the patch that is currently on test: Every kill of someone put you on a rep timer during that time if they killed you or you killed them the timer would reset. While you had a timer no PVP IOs could drop.

    After the patch on test:
    The timer doesn't reset on kill and you don't get a timer for them killing you.

    The simple solution is to add purple rolls in rewards for tickets/merits. Make it twice the gold so say 7000 tickets for a random purple recipe. You can get purple drops in ae from devs choice missions. They could make it a 50 only reward roll since you can only slot purples in 50's. The MA created a shortage of purples in the market since those supplying them were farmers. The current state of the market simply shows that either the chance for purple drops outside of ae need upped or those that want them will have to turn to farming outside of ae to try to get them.

    I created a new account for cov and about a month later realized that something was just not right and so I [censored] at them and the transferred over my cov stuff cancelled the account that I created and I went on with time and grade accounted for.

    That's exactly what i tried to do, but their best offer was "we'll lock all your characters and apply a CoV serial to your CoH account but LOL at giving you credit for time played!"


    I'd still be a bit behind the vet reward curve thanks to my post-ED retirement, but I sank over 9 months into CoV that was wasted as far as vet rewards are concerned.
