  1. I don't think the 2xXP thing shows up as a temp power. The article says it recolors your experience bar differently (light blue) the way that debt colors it red.

    But I'm with you, I'd rather not have the double experience bonus. I tend to play my 50s on 2xXP Weekends. I don't like to rush through the game.

  3. It's the worst idea, EVER.

    No offense to the devs. The game is otherwise pretty much great, and I've seen the level of work you guys are capable of and am generally impressed.

    But this, giving away free stuff for not playing? It's just... wrong.

    Never going to happen. The -Recharge component of ice powers breaks Brutes' Fury meters. They were actually around for a little while in CoV beta, but were removed because they effectively nerfed everything that makes a Brute a Brute.

    I have to agree, it'd be pretty sweet for a Stalker though.

    Probably never going to happen for Dominators (unless they create a Throwing Weapons ranged powerset first to combine it with), and not terribly likely for Blasters. Even if they did port it to Blasters, it'd be a highly underperforming set due to the lack of status effects. (It has what, 1 Stun and a couple Knock-Downs?)

    And "weapon-based" secondaries would require whole new powersets to be added to the game as well, which doesn't qualify as proliferation. None of the existing weapons really perform the way that current Blaster secondaries do.

    And I hate to burst your bubble, but the developers recently said that there was not likely to be any further Powerset Proliferation until Issue 15 (and even that hasn't been guaranteed).

    I'm holding out for Energy Melee for Scrappers, myself. My Katana/SR works better conceptually as EM/Willpower.

    (Most people assume that Brutes and Tanks will get Broadswords in the next round of proliferation, to go along with the Shields coming in Issue 13.)

    Or, instead, go to get more Shivans when you only have one left from the last batch. Gather the meteor shards, and drop your last Shivan on the firebase.

    My ex-girlfriend liked Mako a lot. And it fit pretty well for her main villain, who was a 14 year old school girl who began a life of villainy (or at least criminal insanity) after killing the man who tortured, blinded, and molested her... 9_9;;

    I have a Grav/Kin Controller who took it to go along with his concept, and it works very well for teaming. Invis everybody except maybe the tank, who grabs everyone's attention while they get pummeled by invisible death from all around.

    To be fair, though, it was a thematic choice. The character's background is that he was accidentally fused with an artificial black hole, which is how he's able to control gravity, steal his enemies' power and grant it to his teammates, and refract the light from his teammates to make them invisible.

    Also, to whomever posted they've never seen a Stalker with a PPP pet recently, Evil Gulzow-Man happens to lub his Night Widow. (She's just not terribly fond of him in return.)

I don't want to get slots for one server then change which server I'm playing on and essentially lose those slots.

    They're fixed to the server. So, if you want to move to a different server, I'd make that choice before buying and/or slotting extra character slots.

Now, they want to fill their server, so they buy 31 more slots...What happens when the server is full, and the person gains another slot through vet months?

    Then you put it in a different server or just hold on to the token on the off-chance that they increase the server limit to higher than 36.

    By the way, you don't want to buy 31 tokens for your server. You already have 12 slots in it.

Please correct my math if it's wrong, but it looks to me like maxing out your 36 slots on all 11 servers will cost you about $1000.

    Well at least you don't charge $25 per character transfer, like Blizzard. Although, considering the way things are going, who knows what to expect.

    I am stoked over the fact that they're even letting us buy extra character slots, when they're already known for offering more characters per server than every other game on the market. The fact that they're giving us 2 + 1/yr free is just icing on the pie-cake sandwich!

    Yes, you read that right. I'm all against Stalkers getting Shields. Willpower is hard enough to explain, so will be Elec, and don't get me started on Fire.

    And yes, I know designing/thinking of secondaries for Stalkers is hell and then some.

    I don't see why Stalkers shouldn't have Willpower, but I do agree that there's no reasonable explanation for Shields or Electric Armor.

    Electric Stalker: *sneak sneak sneak*
    Guard 1: "Hey, do you hear a sizzling, popping noise?"
    Guard 2: "Yes, but it's a Stalker, so we have to pretend we can't hear it."

    ... Although, a Shield Stalker would be pretty great with a Cardboard Box Shield, or a Corrugated Tin Shield.
  20. I have a question: why exactly is it that Energy Melee is considered to be "too powerful," as it currently is, for Scrappers? Sure, Scrappers > Tankers as far as damage output goes, but aren't Brutes and Scrappers on relatively equal footing?

    So, Brutes, who deal roughly the same amount of DPS (damage per second) as Scrappers aren't over-powered when using Energy Melee? Or how about Energy Melee Stalkers, with their tremendously powerful Assassin's Strike/Stun combo that I continuously fall victim to in PVP?

    I just fail to see why anyone thinks that Scrappers will be overly powerful compared to the other melee ATs with this addition, and would appreciate it highly if someone could enlighten me.

    (In the meantime, I'll be curled up under my desk, sure in the knowledge that the devs have a personal grudge against me, said grudge being the sole reason that Energy Melee is not being propagated to Scrappers.)
  21. Yeah... I'm totally going to go for the Isolator badge on my main hero. I'll probably go for it on my main villain when/if the option to switch sides arises.

    But griefing just ticks me off. I get so much of that in Warburg just trying to collect nukes so I can continue soloing EBs and Heroes with my squishy l'il Stalker (other people playing Stalkers are [censored]. I, on the other hand, will back up anybody who just wants the Rocketman badge or the nukes and gets attacked by said [censored]-Stalkers).

    I mean, seriously... you want attention, go call your mommy.

    Let the heroes kill their Contaminated already! =P
