  1. Thanks, guys. I made him years and years ago, before I really understood HOW to slot. And, yes, he is unplayable. I appreciate your help and input, and hope others will chime in as well!
  2. I have a lvl 50 archery/devices/Munitions blaster that is in serious need of help. I'm posting the Mids export here just so you can see what I have, but he has no IOs or much of anything simply because I haven't played him in some time and don't know what to do with him.

I want to make him playable. I'd like to softcap ranged defense if I can, and concentrate more on ranged fighting that placing mines. (I want to keep trip mine but can probably forgo time bomb and gun drone.) If anyone has any great archery/devices toons they're happy with, I'd really love to see them. I would appreciate any and all advice!

  3. I'm utterly amazed at the whiny sense of entitlement displayed in this thread. Either you subscribed for the time necessary to receive the incentives or you didn't. It's just that simple.

I've been subscribed for just about four years now with no lapses. This wasn't to earn incentives (though those are a nice little bonus) but because I enjoy the game and want the benefits that paying for it has to offer. I truly cannot fathom subscribing to a game for a specific amount of time solely to get an incentive, nor can I understand those who claim they wasted their money by subscribing for some time just short of what was necessary to receive said incentive. Have you not been enjoying the perks of membership? If not, why are you even here?

The conditions necessary to receive this particular goodie bag were laid out for all to see: don't let your subscription lapse for a specific time range. If you did indeed let it lapse, that's no one's fault but your own. Now I can certainly understand being frustrated if the lapse was accidental, but it's still your own fault. You made a mistake, and not getting the goodies is a consequence of that mistake. It isn't the end of the world. And if the goodies are later released on the market and you want them, buy them. (Just because I followed the rules of the incentive program and received the incentives at no additional cost doesn't mean I'm going to resent you paying for them at a later date. I'm not that selfish, and I hope the majority of the player base isn't either.)
  4. What are the new pet classes called for binds? I have a set of binds for robots, I assume they should work for breasts with the proper name changes.

    Thanks!!
  5. I have to say, I do get tired of the "it's too complicated/we don't have time to do that" excuse. Sometimes I think the entire game is put together using bubblegum, baling wire and spit.
  6. I have not a clue about how easy or difficult it would be to code. Presumably it could just do a database query of your alts and identify only heroes (if you're logged on as a hero) or villains or praetorians if you're logged as one of those and then do a random pick, sidekicking/exemplaring as necessary. If you only have one hero then the power wouldn't work since it wouldn't have anything to draw from. (and presumably you'd be bright enough to not use it.)

Like I said, I don't know if it would be easy or difficult, but if it could work as a simple database query, it doesn't seem all that complicated.
  7. The leprechaun can't be targeted or killed.

The price is way too high. That said, I bought it. I have a toon named Psionic Leprechaun and couldn't resist buying him a companion. But even 400pp would have been much more palatable.
  8. I'd like to see a Fort Trident day job.
  9. Just the idea of two of my toons fighting side-by-side makes me smile.
  10. This has frustrated me as well. It's annoying to have stuff you can't use but also can't give to another toon or sell. So many solutions, they just need to pick one and implement it.
  11. I would love a combined Orbourous. I've always thought it was silly that they weren't combined. It's not like anything is different about the two different instances other than where you can teleport.
  12. I suggested this on one of the "Freedom Friday" Facebook threads, and got a "great idea, but we're not doing that at this time" kind of response. So I'm mentioning it here.

We have the temp power to call a random signature hero to help during a battle, purchasable from tier 9 of the reward token market. What I would like is the ability to call forth one of my alts to help in a battle. How fun would it be for two of your own toons to fight side by side?

Gentleman Gladiator is fighting Lord Recluse and is in trouble. He quickly radios stablemate Abe Kadabra, who appears via teleporter and uses his electrical blast powers to help his friend take down the leader of Arachnos.

The power would work like this:

once activated, the power would draw forth a random, level-appropriate hero (or villain, etc.) from your alts. S/he would fight by your side for 5 minutes, then disappear. The power would have, say, 5 charges, or alternately unlimited charges but only usable once every hour.

This is something I would happily buy in the Paragon Market. The chance to fight side-by-side with one of my other creations - creations which are by the very nature of the game never permitted in world at the same time under any other circumstance - would be incredibly cool. And it doesn't seem like the programming would be too difficult either.

And I bet it would sell better than that wascally leprechaun!
  13. Don't just say "incorrect," tell us why it's incorrect and and how you know this.
  14. My thoughts...

Yes, 800pp is way too expensive. I bought it anyway, and only regret it a little. I had the points to spend, I don't play any other games, I don't spend a lot of money on other frivolous endeavors, so why not? I don't care one whit about the influence buff, I just bought it because I liked it and have all the other pets. (Yes, I'm a completest, much to my own chagrin!)

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Write customer service and tell them why you're not buying it. Post on the forums, like you're already doing. Be vocal. If sales are low, and they know why, maybe they'll take the hint.

None of the Paragon Market offerings are essential to playing the game. Sure, unslotters are nice, as is extra storage, but you don't need any of them to make a good character and enjoy playing said toon. If people enjoy buying a frisbee.. excuse me, flying disc, more power to them. If people want to buy Roman armor so they don't have to earn it in game, have at it. None of it affects gameplay or adversely affects those who choose not to buy these things.

Personally, I would love for things to be less expensive. But, like most businesses, they'll charge what they think they can get away with charging. That's Capitalism. And I think that the developers probably DO care about the players, but they're not the ones who set the price points.

As for stereotypes, Leprechauns will always be associated with Ireland. As an American living in Arkansas, I encourage you to make a redneck hillbilly, tobacco-chewing, Republican-voting, gun-toting scrapper. I won't be offended in the least. (Heck, I'll probably laugh!) Hey, at least you (Irish folks) have a rich tradition of mythology from which to draw. We have Uncle Sam and Bigfoot. 'Nuff said about that.
  15. Even a poke in the eye is better than another St. Louis Slammer recipe.
  16. The drought is over!!

[Absolute Amazement: Stun Duration/End Reduction (Superior) (Recipe).50]
  17. ...and yet all I seem to get are whites with the occasional yellow and amazingly-rare orange and absolutely no purples, whether I'm doing trials, playing at +4x8 with my tank, or whatever.

Personally, I think there's a big red button somewhere with my name on it and someone pressed it to pay me back for petitioning one too many times! :P
  18. I've built this up in MIDs and am planning to respec into it. Eagle's Claw is blank because it will contain the new Scrapper's ATO (all six) and MIDs doesn't support that yet.

I've build for S/L defense and recharge. I have T4 Cardiac as my Alpha, so guard against Endurance issues.

  19. What should I aim for? As much def as possible?
  20. What is the softcap for damage resistance?
  21. I thought perhaps this had been announced somewhere, and I missed it.
  22. Are there any good build examples out there for Claws/Fiery Aura? I've been looking, but it doesn't seem like many people use the two together. I just need some good ideas. My claws/FA scrapper is about to turn 50 and needs some major help. Thanks!!
  23. In the last month and a half I've noticed that I get mostly temp power drops, and in fact haven't had a purple recipe drop in at least 90 days. Before that, I was getting them every week or two. I complained about this today in a PUG and was told that the drop rates had been adjusted downward. Is that true? Even using Windfall, I'm not getting any decent drops.
  24. I got all the costume pieces in the first 24 packs, but catalysts and no wolf. Then I bought 24 more. Got eight catalysts, no wolf. All told, I got a ton of merits, many different ATOs, and way too many windfalls, inspirations, etc.

My ten-year-old son has his own account and desperately wanted the wolf. I bought him enough points to get the 24 pack and he got the wolf (hooray!) on his 13th pack. All things being equal, I'm thrilled that he got it and I didn't. I wouldn't mind owning it, but if only one of us could get it, I'm glad it was him.

I did put a set of Blaster ATO's on my E3 blaster, and "purpled" all of them. There are some nice bonuses, (like others have said, roughly equivalent to existing purple enhancements) but nothing very game-altering. Which is probably a good thing.
