you seriously cant see whats wrong? theres a good sized piece of the armour missing. your not supposed to be able to see the bottom of the helmet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe you should have used a screenshot that focused on the head then, as well as mentioning it in your post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, that's an awfully dark screenshot. I couldn't tell anything was wrong, in part because I couldn't see half the costume. -

Seems that I have said something I didn't really mean. I in no way think that bases are USELESS, as definitly serve a purpose. I was just saying...I'd really like to see something done with bases...

I think mostly we all understood, we're all just as frustrated as you are and sort of went off on our favorite rant.
You just provided this season's ammo thread. No harm, no foul.

Hey Scoop? I reposted my Second SG Recruiting Fair, it appears the thread went poofles.
[/ QUOTE ]
Um. Go ahead and post the redirect link here. Unfortunately, due to the vagaries of UBB (THANKS UBB!), we can't really fix the link once the Scoop's been posted. It sort of sucks that way.
The copy editors get the links as late as they can before layout starts to work with the information, but we'd like to remind anyone who wants to have their events posted to PLEASE put it in the calendar as early as possible. We miss a lot of events because people don't list them in the calendar, and we're not on all the server forums to catch them that way. -
I think he went to the PvP forums.
Milk cartons won't cut it. Try the ammo boxes. -

Supers and comic based media are all the rage right now, practically every super powered movie has done well-verywell and even a number of graphic novels turned movie have shined.
Why has CoX as the only super powered MMO failed to capitalize when the world can't get enough super powers?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because nobody (mainstream) knows about it.
Even when it was new, CoH didn't advertise worth a damn. A few print ads in a few comics, and that was it, really for the major advertising - maybe some gaming magazines, but nothing else big. You simply don't get players without advertising.
Also, movies and graphic novels do not require any sort of time commitment. I bought copies of the game for my brothers, I included thumb-drives with the latest (at the time) patches, Mid's, vidiot-maps, and instructions to get started... and I still can't get them on, even though they say they want to play. They say they don't have time to even load it up and create an account, much less actually play it on a regular basis, and these are guys in their mid-20s with no family.
On the other hand, I need to remember to call them this week to find out what they thought about Wolverine and Star Trek. -
So you're saying I shouldn't start at 1am again?

If you're gonna read any of my SAMURAI 7 stuff, read "The Sword of the Soul" first. If you read my TRINITY BLOOD stuff, read "Unexpected Results I: A Slight Glitch" first.

Oh, thank you. I keep going and looking - then not being sure where to start.
Not that I'm going to have time for a while. -

Nah, then he just makes me do it. -
Okay, I was about to go through and update the list.
At this point, the list still serves the purpose of "we're badgers and we have arcs, we're looking for interesting things to play, and we'd like to support other badgers."
If you do NOT want your arc in the list, please PM and I'll remove it.
If you DO... well, just let me know if there's any changes.
If you don't care.. hey, just leave it.
For the rest.. sure, they're removing badges. Does that invalidate the work people have put in to building STORY arcs? Seriously? Are the only reasons we're playing is just for badges? Are we really so selfish and so jaded that if we can't get a badge for it, we're going to just say "you don't matter" to everyone else in the forum who might have put in some time trying to put something cool together, without even seeing how interesting it is?
I don't even HAVE a story arc, people, and I'm the one putting this list together, because I want play every single damn arc on it. Not because you wanted badges, but because I wanted to see what you could do. The fact that I'd help you get badges? That's gravy. I don't like gravy, so feel free to drop by for tea and cookies after the weekend (Ulli, I'll make an entire tray just for you). We can discuss the neat arcs that are here. -
Editing the quote pyramid for this one.

Wait, does PST use different measurements of time than EST does?
[/ QUOTE ]
You do mean PDT/EDT, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, in the original posting, Pacific time had a 3 hour window, Eastern time had a 2 hour window. We're not really sure how the Eastern time compression worked, but we're pretty sure it was going to be painful someplace in St. Louis.

[/ QUOTE ]
The entire concept of DST is a bother. Get rid of the damn thing, and set the clock 1/2 hour back.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pick one, pick the other, who care, just settle one one damn time system and STAY THERE.
There's been studies indicating that the time changes actually cause a heck of a lot more problems than they were supposed to solve and since we're no longer in World War I or II, I think it's long past time to lose those remnants.
The thing I always find amusing is "but it's for the farmers!" Actually, the farmers hate it. Cows don't have clocks, they don't care if it's 4:30 or 5:30, they want to get milked at the same relative time. It's a pain in the butt for the farmers, and THEY would like to stop being used as the excuse for not just picking a darn time and sticking with it (used to live in the middle-of-farming-nowhere, Wisconsin). -
Cat, I think those numbers are absolutely fascinating. Offhand, I suspect Mad and Snow do, too.
The object now is to put them into some sort of perspective. -
It would be a very good thing for the people in charge of marketing to figure out how to check with some of the blacklisting sites out there and make sure their redistributor is not listed. My address gets blocked about once every nine weeks for a good three weeks - not because of anything I do, but because some idiot signs up to the virtual server where my mail is hosted and spams, gets reported, and kills the entire IP list for the ISP.
I usually find this out because my mails do not get out to certain friends and HOA board members. However, other friends and board members do get my mails, because they are not subscribed, or auto-subscribed by lazy ISPs, to the blacklisting sites.
There is absolutely no excuse for a multi-thousand user system to rely on someone else's mailing list system when there are existing, stable, easy-to-use mailing list programs available that - yes - can handle what they need without the risk of getting their mails blacklisted because it happens to be associated with the wrong list of IPs at the wrong time.
I got everything up through the Anniversary announcement. All of my information was still correct when I checked, and NCSoft is specifically exempted to not go into my junk mail folder. There's enough people complaining about this that, while there might be some miscellaneous issues on our end (changed emails, unchecked boxes), there is a larger problem on PS's end. -

And woot woot for Kid and Nomme!Happygrats to our great Protector couple!

There's an ongoing joke between us that because it's listed as an event in the Scoop, I'm going to make them have an event write-up afterward.
I don't know about that, but I might provide a photo. -
I doubt this applies here much, but if anyone has removed their arcs, could you please PM me, so I can update my list? I'll be posting updates (not the full list, just updates) sometime between now and Sunday.

I found Positron's little rant to be well...childish. In particular, he sees fit to mention "5-star badge cartels", but makes no mention of ratings griefers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if nobody's mentioned it directly to him, it might not have occurred to him to mention it there. -
I'm still adding to the list, and as I get groups of about 10 or so, I'll post updates. I'll also post corrections for people maintaining the mega-list at home.
And if you're the only one I missed, OmegaS, then I think I did a pretty darn good job!Sorry about that.
-
I should think it'd be hard for anyone to do rates for everyone. Do them for who you can, and we'll leave the list alone.
If nothing else, this list means we can always go back and, by preference, give plays to people who are actively working on badges, if we don't have friends and SG members we're helping out. With the sheer number of arcs in the AE, we desperately need SOME way of weeding through the available content (and lack thereof); this is as good a way as any.
Nobody says we have to do these plays rapidly, after all. Take your time, no pressure, and you'll get to them when you get to them. Don't worry about it.
And hey, I don't even have an arc yet. I've only got a .. well. Farm mission that I don't publish, really, that I'm slowly turning into an actual story. -
OKay, list of everyone up to this post. There's 89 arcs in this particular list.

Comments:
Also search for arcs by: Winza, Culex (possibly removed), and EricNelson. They didn't provide arc #s or titles, just said "search for my name."
I grabbed all the arcs, from posts and signatures, no matter what people were actually saying for play, on the theory that we were pretty much playing everything.
Titles or Arc #s are missing for people who just gave one or the other but not both. Not my fault!
Compilation errors are mine, all mine! (Although it was mostly copy/paste.) Reporting errors belong to the reporters. Repairs gratefully accepted.
If you'd like this list in a PDF or Word format (which are, incidentally, massively easier to read), please PM me (for Word, please let me know what version) and I'll email the most recent list I have to you. Remember to include your email address. -
Given that this thread is around 140 posts or so, I'll go through over the next week (If I remember, my memory is shot) and try to compile a list of submitted arcs. This is largely because *I* want a list of submitted arcs, but if I'm going to make it, I might as well provide it for everyone.

hey, some of you don't seem to be aware that the boards let people disable signatures.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well aware, actually. But seeing as how unlike almost any other message board, there are no obnoxious images or long signatures I honestly couldn't see why anyone would disable them.
For the Glory of Godby: Part 1, Arc ID 6235
The Time Bandits, Arc ID 39008
[/ QUOTE ]
Because some people are on dialup, and the less that is downloaded in general, the faster it happens.
Also, because (honestly) some people's signatures are... well... stupid. And not seeing them is nice.
Finally, because some people don't like seeing the same text over and over again. It weirds them out.
I happen to have signatures on, but it's occurred to me a few times that I might like to consider turning them off, for various and sundry reasons. Or people. -

The problem is that it wasn't announced in advance
[/ QUOTE ]
It was announced on April 23rd. -
re: on the "starred your arc +5!" and not getting any tickets, I read in another thread that apparently some people will start clicking on the first star and then click each star in progression to make them all light up, instead of just clicking the 5th star (or whatever).
As a result, the initial rating of the arc is 1, and there are no tickets issued. The raising of the rating doesn't issue "upgrade tickets" for the upgraded rating, as would happen if they started at 3 and raised to 4 then 5.
If people actually are rating your arcs 3, 4, or 5 and you're not getting tickets from it, that's probably why.
