Quote:Yep, that's exactly what happened. Most of my friends that I made playing City of Heroes in 2005 and 2006 and had left in 2007 that I referenced in a post above actually came back to the game when Issue 14 launched. They all joined the villain group I had made a couple of years ago, and we had a good time doing AE missions. Then Positron made his announcement, shot himself in the foot, and all of my friends that came back to City of Heroes with Issue 14 left that very day. I was looking through my VG member list last week, and saw so many names that haven't been on in 200+ days.Doubtful, unless Going Rogues offers features that make this game feel like a new experience to old players who've left.
AE brought a good chunk of veteran players back, because it was innovative, but then found them turning around and leaving after Posi spazzed out over leveling.
Not shooting themselves in the foot would need to be in the mix with a very good GR expansion to get those old players to resub.

Many people know that I purchased two lifetime subscriptions to Champions Online, and I don't regret it.
IMO, it's a decent game, and these are just growing pains the game is going through. Is it as good as City of Heroes now? No. Was it in better shape than City of Heroes was in when it launched? Yes. It's a good secondary MMOG for me to play when I'm bored with City of Heroes, and it should only get better over time.
Anyone remember the nerdrage over Regen? The Arena? GDN? Or Heaven forbid, ED? Yeah, that's what Champions Online is going through now. It'll lose some subscribers over it, just like City of Heroes did over those changes. But, I fully expect it to be around two years from now, and the majority of the players playing it never having experienced what's going on now, much like the majority of the City of Heroes players never went through the Regen nerfs, GDN, and ED.
FWIW, most of my friends that I made playing City of Heroes with back in 2005 and 2006 left the game two or three years ago, played Champions Online with me when it launched, quit after a couple of months, and are now playing Star Trek Online. None of them have any intention of returning to City of Heroes. As far as they are concerned, the game is old and dated, and they have the feeling of been there, done that. I disagree and miss them, but I don't see them coming back. -
I would like to make an Invulnerability Brute, but I can't decide on a primary. Any recommendations for which would be the "best" primary to pair with the Invulnerability secondary?

I wish the developers would copy the Power House from Champions Online. You essentially go into a seperate zone to train, with several areas set aside to let you try out your new ability, and you can respec out of it for free before leaving the Power House. So, when you unlock a travel power, you go into the Power House, train into Fly, and fly around the Power House. Don't like it? Not a problem, so long as you're still inside the Power House. Go to the trainer, respec out of Fly, and pick up Super Jump.

Stupid work.
Glad y'all had a good time though!

Bah. Y'all can have Ghost Widow. I'll take Battle Maiden. Got to admire a woman that uses both a sword and an axe.

Thanks to everyone that showed up last night. It was a lot of fun!

It kind of makes me want to make a new toon in his honor. Too bad there's no such thing as a Hair Control Dominator.

Quote:Teaming with me was the obvious cause. This is what I did:
I played my Crab Spider, teamed with Celestial Lord. I had global channels. I logged out for an hour. I logged back in and had no global channels.
I did nothing between those two actions, as I had already stated in my previous post, when I described logging out of a character and logging back into that same character with no channels.
I'm sorry if I seem a bit frustrated, but I'd already answered the question you're asking.
And I understood what you were saying the first time. It's just that it wasn't applicable.
In all seriousness, while we were initially teamed on your Crab Spider, you switched out at one point to your Fire / Dark Corruptor, and then logged out for a hour. Did you do anything with your globals while on your Corruptor?
But yeah, globals are occasionally wonky. -
This thread makes me want to make a Kinetic Defender, give Speed Bost three run speed enhancements, and spam the Hell out of it in Atlas Park.

I suppose I'll wait until level 35 and try it one more time. If not, I suppose I'll just Ouro it. But, at least now we know you can't do it between levels 20 - 34.

Photobucket is blocked at work. Would someone mind posting the pertinent information?

Happy birthday, Slacker!

Welp, my Brute went back to Ashley McKnight at level 30, and she gave me the Midnight's Hand story arc. Upon completing it, I dinged level 31, and she had no more missions for me. I tried contacting her again, and she said to come back to her once I reach level 35. :\

Nice to see you finally post, Stone.

Since it's a bit harder to organize stuff red side, I figured I'd give this a try.
Sign up below if you would like to join me on a level 24+ red side respec trial on Wednesday, January 27, at 9 P.M. ET / 6 P.M. PT. I figure it should take a hour at most.
