Just fyi, we are on for Rikti smashing goodness tomorrow night. See y'all in the War Zone.

Nice guide, Silas! Now I'm just waiting for "Silas Has Crabs, and So Can You!"
-
Thank you Amy for doing a fantastic job leading the blue side Hamidon raids the past eighteen months. Please know that I and many others greatly appreciate the hard work you've done. Thank you as well to the other blue side Hamidon raid leaders - Cherry, Angie, et al. Champion wouldn't be the best online community without y'all.

I suppose I should mention that this character would be primarily for Hamidon and Rikti mothership raids. I want a Controller that would be good at both, and bubblers are always in demand at mothership raids.
-
Except tonight is the weekly Rikti mothership raid.
-
This was last night, Peter. :P We did give Hamidon quite the swift kick though.
-
It does. Green mitos now require a much higher level of hold before they can be damaged. Specifically, mag 50 holds. That would partially explain why last night's Hamidon raid took longer than usual.

What would be the "best" Controller primary to pair with the Force Field secondary?
-
... Kinda odd for a duplicate post three hours later.

I would imagine a ranged / armor AT would have Corruptor level damage, with Scrapper level armor. I fail to see how that would be unbalanced. As far as contributing to teams, they would contribute just as much as any Kheldian. Yes, Kheldians have their specific weakness, but it's been watered down so much over time that it's practically pointless.

Yes. I'm a Frenchman with a British accent.

I watched The Matrix for the Nth time this weekend on my Blu-ray player. Now I want a Dual Pistols / Super Reflexes Scrapper, dang it. Make it so!

Welcome both to City of Heroes and the Champion server.
Unlike other MMOGs such as World of Warcraft, most of City of Heroes' content is instanced, so you really won't see too many people walking, leaping, or flying about. At least outside of Atlas Park, anyway. Your best bet is to use a combination of the search interface, and global channels. I highly recommend joining the BMT of Champion global channel, which is used to form strike / task forces, hunt giant monsters, and other such server events. It's a good way to find teammates, at least until you get on to a good supergroup.
Send a tell to @Cobalt Azurean or @Force for an invitation to BMT of Champion. -
Bumpity bump bump. See y'all in the War Zone tomorrow.
-
Playing Storm is easy. Turn on Hurricane, set a Tanker on your team to auto-follow, and go make lunch.
-
While the Champion server is down, we bring you this public service announcement.

Honestly, Issue 17 is incredibly buggy and should have been delayed, dates be damned. It's the most buggy issue release I've seen since Issue 7.
-
I'm going to cancel tomorrow's Rikti mothership raid for Issue 17 goodness. See y'all in the War Zone next week!
-
I got home from work today, booted up my home computer, and launched City of Heroes. It started to apply the Issue 17 update, when my antivirus blocked it, saying the Issue 17 update contained the NewHeur_PE virus?!
I'm using ESET Smart Security 4.2 on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I've been using ESET products for the past several years without any problems. Any ideas? As it is now, City of Heroes is stuck trying to apply the Issue 17 update, which ESET Smart Security continues to block as a virus. -
I've been dealing with a family emergency this week, and I'm not sure what's going to happen today. As it stands now, I should be able to make the raid tonight, but I'll try to arrange for a backup leader, just in case.
