Quote:I use Force Bubble to great effect on Rikti mothership raids. As soon as we land on the mothership, I direct all the squishies to huddle up in the middle of the bowl, and then I turn on Force Bubble to keep the Rikti out while the meleers get to play pattycake with them. Works like a charm. There is a huge difference between this power and storm. With hurricane you have the debuffage going on range and tohit so you arent just insta-killed where as with force bubble you are. I have a bubbler with this and I never use this on a team due to the aggro and or scatter it does. Storm its alot easier to manuver enemies with it, force bubble not much so. All I can say is this to you dude, pics, and video or it never happened because I have never seen it work well on a non-mastermind. The thing with knockback there are very few players in the game who know how to use this without screwing up the team.
-
Just fyi, there will be two back-to-back Rikti mothership raids this Thursday, starting at the usual time of 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. PT. I'm running two as I will not be able to run a mothership raid next week, and this week will mark one year.
-
Well, I only have room for six DP powers in my Defender's build. Pistols is mandatory, so I figured Pistols, Dual Wield, Bullet Rain, Swap Ammo, Supression Fire for the hold, and either Empty Clips or Piercing Rounds.
-
If you were a Dual Pistols character and had to choose between one of these two powers, which would you take?
-
Yeah. If you're using a separate router, try plugging your computer directly to the modem.
-
The only remaining Leadership pool power is Vengeance, and honestly, I don't care for powers that require one of my teammates to be taking a dirt nap. If I'm doing my job correctly, no one should be doing so. Thanks for the suggestion though.
-
I usually use him for Rikti mothership raids and the occasional task force.
I bubble everyone on my team every three minutes or so, and blast away during the meantime. On mothership raids, I make sure to turn Force Bubble on as soon as we land on the mothership and leave it on throughout the remainder of the raid. That's about it. -

Quote:Having blue side Hamidon raids on Saturdays is a bad idea, imo. Honestly, Champion just doesn't have the people on Saturdays, for whatever reason(s). I've noticed over the past year or so that the Champion server player population is significantly lower on Saturday evenings than on the other days of the week. That's part of the reason why the red side Hamidon raid has been hurting for players. If it moved to another night, say Wednesdays or something, I suspect that it would have a higher turn out. Also, if I could make a suggestion?
If this does take off, which is likely, could we move the days from Sundays to Saturdays?
Reason bein' is that Red Side Hami Raids have been lackin' bodies these past coupler runs.
If we schedule the Blue Side Raid before Red Side's (or afterwards), we could advertise durin' the Monster hunt or some other time.
We've got the Blue Side down to a very, very fast time and it would be nice if the Red Side's Raid didn't take an hour to 2 hours, when it is a success. -
Quote:Uh, if they were Hamidon raids lead by Amy, Angie, Cherry, Llewthor, or Trevor, I can guarantee you that all team leaders were picked well before the Hamidon raid began forming. All teams serve very specific purposes, which require knowledgeable team leaders. That's why people are asked not to form their own teams in zone, because doing so just leads to chaos and confusion, and slows everyone down immensely. What do you have against reds?
Eh, as long as the raiders are coordinated you don't really need specific team leads. Hell, even when running evacless raids as long as everyone listens to the raid leader the only really important team leader is the taunt team so that the assorted taunters each know which yellow to go after. That can be fairly important if you're pushing through the final bloom instead of clearing it.
Although it is important when clearing Mitos to try to keep the blue spikers/assault team from getting ahead of the yellow spikers/melee team.
i wouldn't mind seeing a return of regular raids, but i'm not able to guarantee being able to attend specific raids, so i don't think i'd make for a regular team leader. Although, as i already mentioned, i also don't see the need for designated leaders for most teams. Most of the time when i join raids the team leaders are whoever started inviting first. -
1. Yes, yes, I am. Although perhaps on a bi-weekly basis. Why? Because it's something else to do other than missions and beating up Rikti, and we do it well.
2. Leading Hamidon raids, not so much. I can and have lead Hamidon raid teams if necessary though. -
My question is is there anything I missed or could do better?

This is the build I'm currently using for my main toon, a Force Field / Dark Blast Defender. I primarily use him for raids.

If I had to guess, Labor Day weekend would be a good bet.

Quote:Are you my long lost twin? Now I'm going to feel like I'm copying but:
Powers:
Acrobatics\Dexterity - I'd love to not fall down and be able to juggle and catch anything. Total body control.
Time Travel - The ability to effect the past present and future in profound ways. Hopefully without the knowlegde of any other beings. NOT for personal gains.
SuperHeroes:
DC - Superman - I love the image of the "Boy Scout" and always doing the right thing. And yet the internal struggle to NOT lose control.
Marvel - Hulk - The dual personalities: one meek, timid and highly intellegent...The other over top outragous, animalistic, primal, seemingly no self control and yet a small bit of intelligence that can be used to keep him in check.
I actually play a Table Top Super Hero game called "HeroClix" - aka: plastic crack. I've been playing and collecting since the beginning 5-6 years now. Until recently I had every Hulk and Superman figure produced for tyhe game. Still looking on get the last couple Chase Superman figures. -
1 A: The power to grow.
1 B: Time travel.
2 A: Superman
2 B: The Hulk -
Quote:I think I honked off someone with a very high positive reputation by mentioning in the Player Questions forum that Masterminds are the red side tankers, not Brutes.LOL What did you do?
On a side note, where did you get that info? I never saw info on my rep anywhere or know when someone rate a post ...
You can check your rep by clicking on the scales icon on the bottom left hand side of your posts. -
Tomorrow, same Bat time, same Bat zone.
Edit: Woo! Went from almost 1500 positive reputation to -149 in one day! In the red, baby! -
Finished the first half in a hour and 18 minutes. Second half finished in a hour and 21 minutes.
Oh, and I turned into a Rikti monkey right before we rushed Dr. Vahzilok in the final mission. -
Brutes are damage dealers. Masterminds are tankers.

Quote:That's not entirely accurate. While most servers' mothership raids seemingly run as you suggest, with people slowly working their way towards the bowl of the mothership once the shield goes down, not all servers do. I've lead weekly Rikti mothership raids on the Champion server for the past year, and I have everyone immediately dive into the mothership's bowl once the shield goes boom, with the exception of one member from each team who places a bomb. Most important piece of advice on your first ship raid:
When you first get on the ship, people will be planting bombs on the walls inside little hatches. Stay against the wall and away from the openings. When the bombs blow up they have enough force to kill almost anyone. -
One important thing to mention is that you need three bombs set on the mothership to spawn U'Kon Gr'ai, a giant monster. Since teams can only set one bomb per every thirty minutes, that generally requires three teams to pull off.

Just show up. A different task force is run each week, every Tuesday at 9:30 P.M. ET / 6:30 P.M. PT, and the one for that week is generally announced a day or so prior. We meet up at the particular task force's contact.

I see we're already introducing the fellow to Champion drama with passive aggressive tags.
