The two most important things I have to know for this month are that October 22 is Cherry's birthday and The Stoned Templars' anniversary.

Here here! I hate the Gold background as well. Thank you for sharing this. What I have been doing is making the costume while in the blue or red background, saving the file, and then importing it when I actually make the Praetorian character. The gold is far too bright.

You may also want to take into consideration that I run weekly Rikti mothership raids every Thursday night at 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. PT. Now while I don't PvP and I don't know how many that consistently mothership raid with me do, it may be a factor.

While better multi-team tools would be nice, I don't concur that they would be as useful as Ventrilo or another outside VoIP tool. The quickest method of communication is still vocal, and the other MMOGs that have introduced their own VoIP solutions have done so rather poorly, to the point that their players still mostly use Ventrilo. It may be best if Paragon Studios does not repeat the mistakes made by other MMOG developers and waste resources on developing a VoIP solution, when there are already better and more suitable tools for the job available elsewhere.

Quote:I play on Champion, which was one of the few servers in the green last night, and we ran an impromptu blue side Cathedral of Pain trial Monday night which we completed in less than 14 minutes, with no use of temporary powers, with the Storm AV or "that giant purple man."Im dissapointed that the devs did that. Its of course very fast on a busy server like freedom. But even with the nukes on slow servers you might not get it done.
There was an attempt on a small server Monday night and it failed and that was with nukes, an experienced group, and Vent communication.
However the group was small and thats to be expected on a smaller server. So To slow down the CoP on freedom and virtue they made it even harder for EVERYone else.
Once again that is short sighted by the devs. If every server had multi CoP runs a night i could understand.
I have characters on Freedom, and virtue, and on small servers.
On freedom my sg ran 3 in a night on sunday. And on slower servers it is hard to even schedule one using the boards a special channel, arena chat, and Vent.
Just merger the servers already or stop crushing the smaller pop servers.
And whats with the giant purple man when is that getting nerfed.
Yes, the Cathedral of Pain Trial is difficult. Yes, the Storm AV is more difficult than Big Red. However, even with the Storm AV, the Cathedral of Pain Trial is far from impossible. IMO, the use of a VoIP tool such as Ventrilo helps immensely as a successful CoP trial requires communication between teams.
I highly recommend reading this guide to the CoP, as well as this thread. -
Quote:Then you obviously missed this thread. I was on a half PuG blue side CoP last night with the Storm AV, and we rocked it in less than 14 minutes with absolutely no use of temporary powers.if thats the case, then there could/should have been other tweaks to the trial. a reward increase, maybe a change to the storm AV, amongst other things. this makes the trail much harder to run (i don't think i've seen a completion where nukes weren't used) and for the same reward, I don't think theres a reason to run it now.

Well, "Who is Superman's father?" is a bit of a trick question. While Jor-El is indeed Superman's biological father, Jonathan Kent is the man that raised him, and who Superman called father, especially in the post-Crisis incarnation of Superman.
As for the nerd fight that Cherry mentioned, that was over "What comic book and issue did Venom first appear?" I have that comic book arc stored in a box somewhere, and I knew it was around Amazing Spider-Man #300. But someone tried insisting that it was Secret Wars #8 or Amazing Spider-Man #252, which was the first appearance of the black symbiote costume. But the black symbiote costume didn't become Venom until it merged with Eddie Brock. :P -
Great guide, Amy, and thanks.

Quote:Bless you sir. You are a scholar and a gentleman. My icon has ["C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -uiskin 0] as the target.
-uiskin 0 gives the blue CoH screen.
-uiskin 1 gives the red CoV screen.
-uiskin 2 gives the gold GR screen.
Quote:The gold really needs to be turned down. A lot. I love Praetoria, and playing in it is so much fun, but the hardest part is making a character to go there in the first place. Everything is so bright I can barely see my costume or power effects. It's gotten to where I have to design my character on blue-side then save the costume and powers to load on blinding-gold-side. -
I will force everyone to watch television every waking moment, and the only two channels available will be FOX News, and a channel that shows nothing but Jersey Shore reruns 24 / 7.

I reinstalled City of Heroes yesterday from the Going Rogue disc, which turned out to be a mistake. I mean, the game loads and works fine, but the loading screen and the character selection screens are all so damn... gold. Even the game's icon is now gold. Is there any way to go back to the good ol' blue?

It's a pre-emptive attack by the Rikti to prevent us from raiding their mothership tonight. :P
