I know there are ways to marginalize Shadow Cyst Crystals. I just found it very amusing to come across level 54 ones in the Tin Mage TF. Especially the one next to Director 11. :P
-
Level 54 Shadow Cyst Crystals. Good times. Especially when a level 54 Shadow Cyst Crystal spawns next to Director 11.

I run Borea missions in the Rikti War Zone on my level 50 + 1 Super Strength / Electric Armor Brute at +1 x 8, averaging one purple IO recipe drop a day. I could do it faster at +0 x 8, but battling blue con mobs just feels wrong.
-
Quote:Hrm. So, Electric Armor = bad for tanking Lord Recluse. Good to know, thanks. Boy was I surprised, lol. Rest of my teammates were as well. I thought with the 27 points of knockback protection, that I'd be fine.Other meleers aren't getting knocked around because they have Knockback resistance as well as Knockback protection.
Grounded only has protection. -
I was playing my Super Strength / Electric Armor Brute with a group of friends on a Statesman Task Force. I was the only Brute / Tanker on the team, so I was given the task of tanking Lord Recluse in the final mission, while the Thermal Corruptor on the team kept me alive, and everyone else worked on taking down the towers.
Now, my SS / Elec Brute has 27 points of knockback protection while on the ground, (don't ask). When I began tanking Lord Recluse, he repeatedly knocked me around like I was a school girl. Yes, I was on the ground... well, except for the moments where he sent me flying. This surprised everyone on the TF, and I've never noticed Lord Recluse sending other Brutes / Tankers flying before.
Exactly how much knockback is Lord Recluse capable of? -
Canceled again this week due to another beta server event.
-
Lol. That's probably what I was thinking of, thanks. I just recalled reading somewhere "Plant Control" and "needs to be on the ground," but I couldn't remember the specifics. Thanks.
-
IIRC, I once read that Plant Control and the Fly travel power do not mix well. However, I do not recall as to why. Is there any particular reason why a Plant Control Controller or Plant Control Dominator should not take nor use the Fly travel power?
-
Force Field / Dark Blast will be invaluable in Incarnate content imo, with the 64% to-hit all Praetorians and their mother seem to be getting.
-
Sweet. Is there a particular theme to the costume contest, or is it random / come as you are?
-
Tonight's Rikti mothership raid is canceled due to the beta server event. See y'all in the War Zone next week.

Quote:Uh, newsflash: we did pay for VEATS. The money gained from the Wedding Pack went directly towards VEAT development. The developers even stated as such. We also paid for the Incarnate System, as that was part of the Going Rogue expansion.No. Look at the PlayNC store, and then look at the Cryptic Store. There are infinitely more things on the so-called 'C-Store.' If the PlayNC store had as many booster packs as the C-Store has items, we'd have had to pay for EVERY SINGLE new costume set since I8, the Invention System, the RWZ, the Faultline Revamp, the VEATs, the AE, the four free costume change emotes and the Incarnate System, our Pool Powers, any proliferated powersets, and every freespec we've ever had.
In addition, subscribers to that other game receive a C-Store stipend each month, essentially giving them a new free costume set each month. While it may not be much, it can not be said that everything new in that game is in addition to the subscription fee.
Quote:The only games that offer lifetime subscriptions are games that don't expect to last very long. The only reason to offer a lifetime sub for 100 bucks or something is that you don't think players will want to spend more than five or six months playing your MMO anyway. -
Quote:Lifetime subscriptions does not increase the likelihood that a game will use micro-transactions, because all MMOGs offer micro-transactions now. Yes, including City of Heroes and World of WarCraft. They're a staple of the industry now, and there's no avoiding them. So, would you rather pay $15 a month and pay for the occasional micro-transaction, or pay a lump sum of $200 up front and pay for the occasional micro-transaction? That's what it really all comes down to.There is not a lifetime sub in this game like DCUO or Champions. I would certainly buy one, but I don't see the devs offering one. We have far too many rabidly committed subscribers here so it wouldn't likely work out.
DCUO is a good candidate for a lifetime sub because it doesn't have much content right now and they need the revenue to continue to improve. But I fear that lifetime subs increase the likelihood that a game will have to use micro-transactions to support itself.
Personally, I'd rather pay the lump sum up front and get a lifetime subscription. I have two Champions Online lifetime subscriptions, and a DC Universe Online lifetime subscription. Had NCSoft offered a City of Heroes lifetime subscription four years ago, I would have purchased one then as well. If CoH were to offer one now? Probably not, as the game is honestly quite a bit long in the tooth.
Two words: Booster packs. -
Yeah, I wouldn't advocate bringing non-level 50s to Hamidon raids. While it's not quite as useless as bringing a Tanker without taunt to a Hamidon raid, it sets a bad precedent and makes the raid more difficult for everyone else.

Super Strength / Willpower Brute with Fly.
/close thread. -
Robotics / Storm Mastermind with Group Fly, Whirlwind, rocking the Hurricane, and Gale on auto.
Any other ideas? -

I like the Imperial City trade house. It's nice, quiet, and lets you get your buying and selling on in peace. Now that Praetoria is open to all, why not let those that have left Praetoria be able to use the Trade House Teleporter power? I can even see limiting it to while you're actually in Praetoria, but still. Let the power be of some value to those that are either of Primal origin, or who have long since originally left Praetoria.

So, about the same as back in 2009. -
Thanks to everyone that came out and wrestled in the Jello last night.
Special thanks to my team leads - @Fanged Knight, @Jonnie Neutron, @Amygdala, @Disciple of Horus, and @TFury - for stepping up and pulling together at the very last moment like that. Y'all are what makes Champion Champion.
