  1. My namesake is a level 50 + 1 Force Field / Dark Blast Defender, which I made primarily for Rikti mothership raids. Now with Issue 20, I just don't see the point in playing him. Between the Barrier and Clarion Destiny buffs, he's essentially useless with nothing to provide level 50 teams. Sure, he can be of some benefit by providing bubbles while exemping for lower level task forces and such, but that's once in a blue moon, and not what he was designed for. I haven't bothered running any Incarnate trials with him, because I just don't see the point. The only thing a Force Field Defender brings to a level 50 team is pitiful Defender damage now.

    Am I missing something?

    SG/VG dead?

Uh, SGs have been dead for a long while now. Bases are helpful as personal storage bins and transport to zones. But other than that, global channels are where it's at.

  4. Don't forget Champion, our server and home is scheduled to be invaded today, beginning at 7 P.M. ET / 4 P.M. PT! We fought off the Rikti twice. We can give the Praetorians a proper "Welcome to Primal Earf!"

I found out by puttin myself out there, devoting my time to arrange a league, usually an hour b4 start time. I am not one servers cool kids, but I figured there were plenty of ppl that would support a community event.
I found out the ppl don't have the patience to wait for the the raid to start. Nor do we want ppl on teams cause of one reason or another.
As a community I thought we could put differences aside. That whoever you are, or what SG you support you can turn out and be part of one of IMHO one of the best end-game raids in COH.
I have not nor will not turn my back on the people Champion server, I hope that one day we may loose our rep as the drama server
Oh please. I hardly consider myself "a cool kid." If anything, I consider myself to be an average player. Hell, half the time I wonder how I wound up playing with all of the awesome players in Renaissance de la Veritas and The Stoned Templars, among others. Yet, I've lead many successful Rikti mothership raids and Hamidon raids. Being "cool," has nothing to do with it. At all. It's PPPT - patience, persistance, planning, and teamwork.

As Cherry has mentioned, the fact is Champion's interest in Hamidon raiding has waned dramatically over the past few months. At one point, we had three Hamidon raids going a week. It was just far too much, and it burned people out. I'll let you in on a few secrets. Hamidon raids are not my favorite thing to do in the game. Far from it. I'd much rather do a Rikti mothership raid, (when it's not lagging). The only reason I began leading Hamidon raids is because some people were going through Hamidon raid withdrawals as there were no Hamidon raids going at the time, and no one else was stepping up to lead one. When we were at three Hamidon raids a week, I only went to two, and that was dragging me down as even two a week is just too much for me. I was not the only one, as slowly people stopped showing up for the Hamidon raids, even before Issue 20. Before, the Hive would fill 15 minutes before the Hamidon raid was scheduled to start. Back in February, it was taking 20 - 30 minutes after the scheduled start time to get enough people in the Hive or the Abyss just to start. That's why AngieB and Force both canceled their weekly Hamidon raids, leaving us only with one.

Now, with Issue 20, forget it. It's taking a good hour to get enough people in the Hive or the Abyss just to start. People just don't want to raid Hamidon anymore. They'd rather do the new Incarnate trials, and honestly, I can't blame 'em. That's why Llewthor canceled his red side Hamidon raids two weeks ago. It got to the point where I offered up some of my own INF as kill shot prizes to try to get enough people in the Hive or the Abyss to start, and even then it took a long while beyond the scheduled start time for us to start.

People aren't interested in Hamidon raids anymore. Many of us are burned out. I know I am, and, as I said above, I was never much of a fan of 'em to begin with. It is what it is. Perhaps in six months, people will be burned out of BAFs and Lambdas and want to raid Hamidon again. Or perhaps Paragon Studios will give us an even better raid or trial to do. Who knows. But really, trying to blame this on "not being a cool kid," feels like a scapegoat tactic to me.

As far as Budweiser "playing" two toons on the yellow mito taunt team, I wasn't there, so I will refrain from commenting on that.
  6. Thanks again to CAPE for the support last night, and thanks again to everyone that came and made it one groovy party. Congrats again to the six winners.

    Thor

I'll probably just wait for Thor to become available on Netflix. The last film I saw in a movie theater was Star Trek, back in May 2009. I just can't see paying $20 to watch a film in a movie theater and endure people yapping on their cell phone / adding their own commentary track to the film / playing games on their cell phone for two hours anymore.
  8. I suggest that it is time for another character name wipe. I recommend wiping the character names of any player that has not logged on for three years or longer, no matter the level of the character. Let's face it, if someone hasn't played the game in three years, odds are he or she isn't coming back and is basically holding character names hostage from players that are still paying for the game.
  9. Just a reminder that this is this Friday, y'all!
  10. It took two runs, but...

    Mission: Accomplished.

Great job, y'all. Congrats on the shiny new badge, and thanks.
  11. Updated the prizes section to reflect a very generous donation from CAPE.

  14. Boogie on Down with Hamidon

    When: Friday, May 13th, 2011
    Time: 10:15 P.M. ET / 7:15 P.M. PT
Where: The Hive and Studio 55 in Imperial City
Hello, Champion. Let's boogie on down with Hamidon in the Hive, then dance the night away to disco music in Imperial City's Studio 55.

Here is how the event will be structured:

10:15 P.M. ET / 7:15 P.M. PT: Meet on the hill just left of the Hive zone entrance, and we will raid Hamidon.

11:00 P.M. ET / 8:00 P.M. PT: Boogie on down in Imperial City's Studio 55, with disco music provided by DJ Dazz!

You don't have to participate in both parts. If you just want to do the Hamidon raid, and / or the disco dance party in Studio 55, that is okie.

Here are the details of each part:

    1. Blue side Hamidon raid

Everyone will gather on the hill just left of the Hive zone entrance on Friday, May 13th, at 10:15 P.M. ET / 7:15 P.M. PT. All level 50+ characters are welcome. However, I request that you wear a '70s or disco themed costume. Hamidon will provide the disco balls. Whomever gets the kill shot on Hamidon will win a one billion inf prize.

    2. Disco dance party in Studio 55

Immediately following the blue side Hamidon raid, everyone will head on over to Studio 55 in Imperial City, via Pocket D. There, we will boogie on down to disco music, provided by DJ Dazz. There will be a '70s costume contest, and '70s and disco trivia. All characters are welcome.

    Prizes

As noted above, whomever lands the kill shot on Hamidon will win one billion inf.

Prizes for the '70s costume contest will be given to characters with winning costumes. First place for the costume contest will win one billion inf, second place 750 million inf, third place 500 million inf, fourth place 250 million inf, and fifth place 100 million inf.

I hope to see y'all there!
  15. Sweet, and we are full. Look forward to kicking Rikti butt with y'all on Saturday.
  16. You still have all the non-Incarnate content available. The developers have taken nothing away from you. And even then, only the Alpha slot level shift can be used outside of the Incarnate trials.

Really, all this crying about not being able to get Incarnate abilities outside of running the Incarnate trials is sounding like, "I want to have my cake and eat it too." Most of the Incarnate abilities are for the Incarnate trials. You can still run level 50 missions or a Lady Grey Task Force without having a Tier 4 Destiny or Lore just fine.
  17. Achievement: "Soloed" Adamastor and a Paladin on my Super Strength / Electric Armor Brute.

(Dis)Achievement: Used a Vanguard Heavy to do so. :\ I tried on my own at first, but while they couldn't kill me, I couldn't do enough damage on my own to outbeat their regen, even with a T4 Radial Diamagnetic Interface slotted.

Incarnates aren't necessary, but I'd prefer if everyone was level 50 since this is a Master run.

It wasn't in the patch notes, but people have been reporting that it was fixed based on failed "one and done" Master of Lambda runs done yesterday.
  20. I've wanted to do a Master of Lady Grey Task Force for a long while now. Time to try to cross it off my list. Would anyone be interested in attempting it this Saturday, May 7, at 9 P.M. ET / 6 P.M. PT? We will need at least one Controller / Dominator / Fortunata for the Hamidon mission. Having the Alpha slot level shift would be helpful, but is by no means necessary.

Sign up below if you're interested.

    1. @Celestial Lord - Super Strength / Electric Armor Brute

    2. @Fanged Knight - Illusion / Rad Controller

    3. @Oathborne - ? / Kin ?

    4. @ResplendentMS - ?

    5. @Cherry Cupcakes - ?

    6. @Kaszandra - ?

    7. @Aneko - Dark Melee / Super Reflexes Scrapper

That's what I thought. Sweet. A WST no one will run, yay!
  22. The Weekly Strike Target list has been updated for the month of May 2011, and among them is the Eden Trial.

Does this mean that the Eden Trial has finally been fixed and anyone level 39 or above can start it, or will absolutely no one be doing the WST the week of May 17th through the 23rd, since last time I checked you still had to have a level 39 to level 41 toon to start it?
  23. Looks good. However, I'd consider dropping Strength of Will and put in Super Speed instead, for two travel powers. Mostly because I've never used Strength of Will, and everyone and their mother seems to have Super Speed these days, so having it is important to keep up with teammates if you plan to team often.

Air Superiority isn't a bad attack. It has guaranteed knockdown, and it is probably the best attack available in a power pool. If your concept calls for flying, but you don't want to spend all your time in combat hovering, Air Superiority is the way to go.

Also, I don't know for sure, but I don't think you can use Foot Stomp while hovering. That alone, if it is true, is reason enough to skip Hover.
I have a Super Strength / Electric Armor Brute with both Hover and Fly. It is correct that you can not use Foot Stomp while hovering. The reason I took Hover instead of Air Superiority is 'cause I take the character on Hamidon raids, where having some form of flight is important, and I don't like having to rely on temp powers.
