Previously, the Rikti tended to invade for an entire week. Feedback from the some in the forums was that this was too long a distraction from the rest of the game.
I tend not to agree with that viewpoint, though I do acknowledge it as having at least some basis. -
I play the market so I can afford builds I design for specific characters.
I only really have 3 heros and 1 villain that I have spent a significant amount of inf on, and for two of them they are not quite where I want them to be. Cat is always being tweaked when new IOs come out. Mr Falkland Islands (AR/Dev) is basically 'finished' and inf he earns is fed elsewhere. Mr England. is not yet 50, but got the bulk of his heavy lifitng in IO sets before he hit 40. He ran a lot of TFs parked at 33 to get recipes at that level.
A 2nd villain with an expensive eventual build is being levelled right now.
Outsdie of that most of my charactersuse uncommons frnakenslotted and common IOs. Heck getting level 25 IOs and leaving them alone means they are pretty wealthy by the time they hit 50. -
Congrats on joining the club.
Dominatrix is a pain in the behind. She doesn't do enough damage to threated, but is just overly resistant -
Try setting up a thread in your server forum with a date and time.
Lots of people tend to be interested in it, but dont want the hassle of organizing one. -
Throwing a fun title aside in here.
'Training of mobs' in PVE zones is against standards of behaviour expected, and depending upon the severity is actionable and HAS been actioned upon.
Examples would be pulling Monsters to Portal Corps, and Monsters being pulled to an old style Hami Raid. Actions were from time to time taken against individuals, and the set-up in both those instances were changed to minimize or eliminate the situation.
How then is something like the final event of Triumph training day different ? Not only will no-one have GM actions taken against them, but heck it is part of a Community team sanctioned event.
People (myself amongst them) will be training Kronos Titans to a zone they don't normally appear, that is Kings Row.
Try to define in watertight terms how one is OK and the other is not. -
1. Yes
2. Yes. In the days before we had easy access to global names from a SG list I would E-mail the character if they were removed for reasons of space. -

I hate to nitpick part of your post here, but aren't you guys always claiming that nothing we do in this backwater forum channel is gonna make the devs change anything, that it's below their radar, etc etc? Wasn't this repeated several times in this very thread a week or two ago?
The amount of farming couldn't have been THAT bad...there were still almost no PO's on the market and the prices were still sky high.
[/ QUOTE ]
Feel free to nitpick away, at any of my posts.
I wasn't actually thinking about Snappin's thread. There were mutliple ones in the I15 feedback areas mainly about the Blood Bay farming, including several which got pretty nasty with back and forths. (the nastiness is why most of them seem to have evaporated into the ether)
That pretty much forced this issue onto Devs Radar, not that thye likely couldn't see it from datamining anyway, I have little doubt the drop numbers were well above their projections.
I still think that the Market forum is below the Devs radar, but there are certainly areas of the forum that are smack dab in the center of it. -

They just want them to not be farmable - drop rate, availability, and price be damned.
[/ QUOTE ]
What they should do is make them available to be bought somewhere ... increase supply = decreased profit = less farming. Only way to stop farming is to make it not as profitable.
[/ QUOTE ]
They aren't looking to stop farming though they would love it if people would. They are simply looking to make it harder and thereby reduce it without increasing the supply to do so.
They want them to be rare but they want most of them to be earned "in the proper way".
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that the level of farming for PVP IOs pretty much forced this change. The sitting ducks in bloody bay usign rez pez from the vendors and afk arena farming would be the obvious ones that were pretty high profile in a few threads here.
Sure people can set-up a 2nd account still in Bloody bay, log off log on next target, but thats still putting ~60 seconds between individual kills. And means you need 5 or so 'targets' of the appropriate level on the other account.
Slowed down the peak AND redcued the window of possible farmers whoc an reach that peak.
I would like with tongue in cheek (and with a nod to the When I'm an Evil Overlord list) to suggest they hire the Posi-Tot as advisor on rewards. If they can see the holes for farming, then it really isn't a good system.
Eventually, I have litttle doubt there will be a 'merit type' system. Not using existing merits, but Longbow/Arachnos special ones gaiend through PvP victories and maybe even completeing the mini-games. -

Point 1- Yes they are. At least the Heal set and one other offer 7.5% recharge in PVE and since they act just like purples you get that 7.5 always.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was under the impression that they acted different from normal ones by TURNING OFF if you exemped at all, which made it pointless to farm anything below 50.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope; full level 1 exemplar!
[/ QUOTE ]
This directly contradicts what I was told before. Can anyone please confirm?
And if so, why aren't they purple...or even some new rarer color?
[/ QUOTE ]
tested and double tested by marketeers yesterday.
[/ QUOTE ]
It one one of the first things I tested when i got my own set. Its the #1 reason WHY they are so desired, that and most of the IOs can be slotted in mutliple powers.
Between 5 sets of purples (5) and 3 PVP sets (5) I have 32 set bonuses that do not go away via exemplar.
By making it this way, which was IMHO almost essentail for a viable PVP set, they also made them hugely desirable in PVE builds for people who do a lot of non-level capped activties. -

....Does this mean you are NOT going to post links to my many threads where I do stuff like say, "OMG HERE'S MY LIST OF PEOPLE WHO HATE ME AND PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME IN THE GAME, YAY ME!" or "OMG I am changing my email addy! everyone take note!" or "I think issue [x] sucks and the developers should nuke it JUST because I don't like it!!".....?
Yeah, thought you weren't, since they never happened. Come back when you can actually address the allegation at hand.... which, after all, YOU were the one to make.

Ok lets have you post where I said exactly any of that then.

Oh and all of yours are clearly very insighful.
Not one of those has a ALL CAPS title, or similar attempt to grab attention.
You Maam are a pot!
[/ QUOTE ]
"all" is a link to the arachnos mace thread. Misplaced and off topic for COH/COV general, much easier to bug in game or place in a relevant I15 feedback thread where it could actually be seen.
Score 1 for off-topic
"yours' is a link to a thread entitle 'oh good grief' note the attention seeking but ultimately uninformative title about Malta. Here you make the error about the toxic holds being added over an AI tweak. Arguably in the right place, but certainly written in a 'look at this thread' way.
Score 1 for attention seeking.
"clearly" is a link to an ALL. CAPS. TITLED. attention seeking thread about fixing a bug. Arguably in the right place (though again an I15 feedback thread would have better).
Score 2 for attention seeking.
"insightful" was actually meant to link here (sorry for a cut and paste error). To "today's short rant; seek and destroy this TF" - yes yet another attention seeking title with the very insighful feedback of "I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit - its the only way to be sure." Of course this would actually belong in suggestions if you had any suggestions in it. So 1 for offtopic and 1 for meaningless blather, plus another bonus point for the attention seeking.
So we have meanigless blather 1
offtopic 2
attention seeking 3
Not a bad retrun from just 4 threads
PK is a bigger attention seeker, but the difference between you and him is just the degree of it.
Oh and he fesses up to being one. -
Whilst we can argue a little about the rank ordering.
Its pretty clear that to slot any of those three you must be REALLY wanting a specific set bonus.
The IOs themselves are not worth a slot, and to me that is an issue, but one I doubt we will see changed. -
I would hate anyone to think I was making up a claim by you that self heals were aggro magnets, or that if you have any sort of heal the mobs will target you first. Then of course try to argue your point by suddenly talking about the enemy effect heals as an example in the same post as saying "Be a Defender, Corruptor or Controller with access to a heal".
My Dark Emp Kin Rad Storm (at 50 plenty other below that) all have access to heals and all understand how they actually work.
Try some moar ALL CAPS Hyperbole. It may get you the attention you crave and is always a sound tactic in discussions.
At least PK admits his shortcomings as a attention<ladyofnegotiablevirtue>. -
For completeness on the STF:
Link to thread #1 the penultimate post mentions an in game discussion with a GM
Who gave the Cimerorans Coffee ? Thread which could be related to the issue. Mobs being 'active' when spawned. If the Repairmen are spwaning 'aware' there first heal will fire before they can be hit.
Players have bugged it in game, I personally haven't because why start a TF when you know there is a bug that stops you finishing it ? -
[ QUOTE ]
I have experience. Its terrible.

QFT for this bit, however I did see it proc once before I pulled it out on a respec. -
the Repairmen basically being unstoppable. Even with bonfire down, they each get a heal off to the tower.
-
It has been that way since I9, and yes it has been commented on at various times.
One issue is that it slots into AOE immobs, which have a target cap of 16.
It was also one of the very first drops I ever got redside from a BMLS run, thankfully someone wanted one and it sold. -
Will also kill off/reduce the Target shooting at the villain entrance to BB, where the targets just pop a rez pez from the contact.

Drastic cut back on the rate of dual box farming.
I would expect this to go live fairly fast, maybe even tomorrow to keep the decks clear, its all bug fixes. -

I think so.
