I have little doubt that in time the 'rep' system will go the way of the stars system on the old forums.
The more rep farming type threads that appear, for me means the sooner that day will come. -
Her arcs don't go the full range.
If you run them in flashback you get dropped to level 25, so they are more 20-25 arcs than 25-29 ones.
On the plus side, every mission she has in accessible via flashback. -
Beaten to the punch by a Canine no less.

With Cat it would be the Synapse version of the Clockwork King, that was with insps and temps, between I6 and I7.
I pretty much focused on the TF AVs gradually reducing the temps to zero, until I found a happy medium of challenge versus tedium. -
Quote:1) FF defenders can take aggro incredibly well, especially when you are talking about absorbing a non-psi alpha. (Via PFF, or even better via provoke then PFF)1) Scrappers can take and manage aggro. While they obviously do this solo, it becomes a bigger advantage teamed because it removes (or at least lessens) "The Fear".
2) FF defenders solo do not have a teammate to deal damage for them. FF defenders solo do not have someone else to take aggro (although FF defenders are actually quite adept at dealing with aggro control themselves and for teams, IME).
2) That is true of anyone who could be teamed with a damage dealer. Two blasters work better than one for example. What specific disadvantage does a FF defender have when solo, that is not true when teamed.
lest examine what ultimo said:
Quote:There's no reason that they should be disadvantaged when not on teams when no one else is. -
Quote:Just so I can be clear:I don't need to, I know what I said.
They do help teams, but so does everyone else. There's no reason that they should be disadvantaged when not on teams when no one else is.
1) What does a scrapper do to help a team, that they don't do solo
2) What disadvantage is a FF under solo compared to a on a team -

Prior to I15 it certainly was possible.
I have not tried it since then, but there has been no mention of a change -
Did an LRSF on the weekend, got a purple (HOLD) and a LOTG +7.5% from mob drops.
More than made up for the dam/rng SHO -

This is a much better order for those powers listed.
The ones in bold are really a very bad idea to take later than they are first offered -

I tend not to use the rep meter much.
Just like the old forum stars I have little doubt it will vanish in time.
To me, your thread was a genuine question, hence the genuine answer.
I have awarded a few positives, to players such as Dark Respite, who do awesome things for the community, and thats about it. -
What about 8 fire trollers ?
Thats would be 31 entities (bar self buffed)
8 Masterminds, would be 47 entities buffed.
MM buffs are hard capped at a maximum of 6 entities affected, the MMs own pets.
AOE buff bubbles, do not have that hard cap, except if created by via a target hit limit, and that route would lead to immense frustration.
(why did my pet get the buff instead of me, *tries again to same effect*, repeat) -

read that.
Some highlights:
power customization was requested back in CoX beta, maybe even the alpha. In the early days there wasn't just the time and manpower.
With the NCsoft purchase, BABs took the lead on pushing this project. It has been actively been worked on since Spring 2008, basically will be 18 about months from start to launch.
So no it wasn't a new idea, it wasn't even a new idea on day #1 of CoH waay back when.
As for who has/had it first Does it matter ?
Anyway CO isn't out yet, lets see who gets it live first (or maybe open testing first) -
Quote:Logic this profund has no place on the internet.100% nadda, i look at the rep system as an ego system. A group of people trying to be something they aint.
True reputation is achieved by people knowing you can be trusted/good at something simply by looking at your name, not thinking "hmm they have 5 bars of good rep so they must be good!".
Besides its already proven that a lot of people are rating inside their own little cliches, so nah think i'll stick to the good old method of trusting everyones opinion on each and every post
(its what I generally do, a few folks get listened no to matter the individual post, due to a long history of making sense.) -

Prestige for any mob is split between any team members, given the OPs comment of 5 for a yellow (Im assuming minion), that stongly suggests a team of 3 was involved. -
Quote:Whilst I agree with the generals points, how many other MMOs encourage alts to the degree that CoX does ?I challenge you to name at least three other MMOs within the past 10 years that have had this "Perceived character naming issue" and purged names.
The truth is, the industry standard is to not purge names or old accounts. The times that it has happened it is due to massive exodus and is usually part of the death throes of said MMO.
I will grant that name purges may also happen for non-paid accounts or non-subscription MMOs, but that is a very different environment. One that is not concerned with re-activation so much as keeping a constant churn in player base to push micro transactions, ad revenue or new box sales.
Of course this ignores the fact that the Dev's stated after the very first name purge that very few names rolled over and most of the ones that did where in the under 6 category.
The fact that players generate more characters, AND use more names per account makes the management of this issue more of a priority than for other games.
I am sure at the very least they will run the current script before GR.
I suspect they will assess and modify that script based on profiles of inactive accounts and the amount of names that would be freed up, but wont go too much further than currently as they will want to entice former customers back with the shiny new Box -
Very happy to see this. Cant wait to see what the whole APP rebalance looks like.
-
Gather for bubbles would be more annoying to me as a player than buffing on the fly.
Add the 'would effect the caster' and subsequent rebalancing (ie reducing the effect) and this idea gets a hearty thumbs down from me sorry. -
Im going with the minimal effect. Maybe a few weeks with a reduced supply/demand, but likely thats going to remain more or less balanced.
Of course any effect is going to be swamped by the I16 changes. -
