Quote:Oohh oohh I know, I know....Total and utter rubbish. How hard is it for the casual player to spam bids for Crushing Impact recipes at 200K and sell them for 1M? Sure, Purples and PVPIOs are pricey, but ultra-rares are, you know... I'll give you a hint.. two words... first one starts with 'u', second one starts with 'r'...
*raises hand fast and eagerly* -
As long as it is profitable, the servers will remain active (they may eventually be consolidated at some point in the distant future).
With the fruits of the investment by NCsoft really only just coming online, there is little reason to think that this game will be anything but healthy in another 5 years time.
We had the 5th anniversary this year, I see no reason why I wont be here and playing at the 10th. -
Quote:Crazed folks just got buffed in their power and reduced in their XP on test..
I can't remember the arc holder but i ran a "crazed" farm that gave really good salvage drops.
# Portal Crazed entities now have a Madness power which increases their To Hit chance and damage while reducing their defense.
# Portal Crazed entities experience and influence rewards reduced to 50% for minions, 40% for lieutenants and 33% for bosses. Their attacks are weak enough even with the Madness buff that they are a low risk for most heroes of the appropriate level -
There are two flashbacks versus the Vahz in the 15-20 range
The multi-mission Story arc (where you get the disease) and the single (timed) mission for the badge. -
I see you got it.
However as additional information:
with the vet awards single should capes are unlocked at character creation.
As mostly I use these over the full capes, to me they just look better.
I became a very happy kitty. -

Quote:It only affected level 40+ family, which If I recall correctly are only in a single portal mission in Unai's arc .(could be another non-arc one out there), which was being farmed a lot.... There was a Family nerf?! Missed that.... probably because I refuse to run Family missions unless forced. I don't run those because Family bosses also run. Between bosses running like so many hyperactive little screaming girls and them Sniping my level 10 melee-character from a half-mile away/through walls, yeah.... I don't bother with them anymore.
See, its that risk/nuisance/reward thing again.
The 'natural' leveled family (which is 5 to 30 IIRC these days) are untouched.
Its actually a great example of the sort of targeted change that reduced the farming of that instance with minimal impact to anyone who didn't farm it.
The arc mission is a multiple glowie hunt that can be gone through with minimal fighting, its not even a defeat all. -
Quote:c> The number 1 thing newbs *should* do is: LEARN. Smart players actually
ran the game tutorial to learn how to play the game. Smart players ran the
University tutorial to learn how to craft. Smart players dabble with Mid's and
the test server to learn new AT builds/powers. Smart players read forum guides.
*checks market guides*
*notes that the link to my little one is broken by the migration*
*fixes that* (both mine and Squezes linked from the same post)
is everyone sitting comfortably ? The I'll begin.
By a following my 'Small Steady Income' guide, my lastest alt redside broke 25 million inf before hitting 20. Fully slotted with common IOs and now just 22 last night, she just gave away millions to her partner in crime (my wifes character) who is stuck on using SOs for now.
More than ever people pay silly inf for commons. Feed the demand and make ink hand over fist. Or be PART of the demand and give me (and others) your inf hand over fist. The choice as they say is yours...
As Fourspeed said. LEARN. A little bit of learning gets you a whole lot of inf. -
per Culex:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=125627
High level family are 0.4
I saw this queried as a 'should be added' somewhere upthread.
Most Tsoo have a 1.2 modifier, Sorcs and yellow ink men are 1.4, and a few of the basic lowbie types are 1.0.
Vahz Bosses are a very tasty 1.8 -
Quote:Mission drop and continue ? That is a no.Is there a way to "Drop a Mission", since I am hopelessly stuck on an Ouroboros Flashback mission? Its the one about the Wasting Disease...
---
To exit the flashback completely:
1) open team window - hit the quit task force
2) use the "/leaveteam" command
However some advice/thoughts on that mission before you abandon it.
The Vahz wasting disease is quite a rough one, but it is only a boss/guards.
Load up on blues a few greens and a few lucks, and simply run past everything to the boss room, Vahz are dumb and will not follow.
Pop the lucks and go after the boss, popping blues/greens as needed.
After the mission the temp power goes away and you can continue to face Doc Vahz himself. -
Quote:We do indeed have words for it... Hyperbole, false claims, even downright intellectual dishonesty. When you make a hyperbolic point that is so trivially demonstrated to be false, you weaken your arguments immensely. No one in these forums or playing the game has complete chat logs from every server, nor have they read every single post on these forums [nor do all people have access to all possible Ventrilo channels]. Only the developers have access to that stuff, as should go without saying, Vent to the side. Knowing all possible information as the basis for logical dissention on these type of issues is therefore not a reasonable expectation. You know that already.
I find this concept in general to be hair-splitting for the sake of someone looking for a fight. Not to mention, we have only your word for this: for the sake of argument, I could say you are lying simply for the fun of being oppositional. "No, U!" you might shout in return, and the chase would be on.
As I said, you may have not seen it raised in game, in which case say EXACTLY that. Make your points honestly and people will listen more, make silly hyperbolic points and people will happily dismiss THAT as well as any message you may wish to get across.
i.e. Don't make the broadest claim when its clear you don't have evidence to back it up, not could anyone.
(The same holds true in other situations. I loathe people saying 'the majority of the players think X'. When the mean 'I think...', or maybe at the most 'I and a few friends discussed this and agreed that...')
Reactions from the people I know well who use their untimed Dreck maps to PL their alts can be paraphrased as , 'well its about time'.
Longstanding bugs and balance should be addressed not ignored. (eg PSi-Shockwave, but THAT required a whole AT examination) I have my own theories about why this relatively simple tweak is occurring now, but at least part of it is resource related.
Personally, I think 0.8 for the minions is going a touch far (0.9 'feels right' to me). The bosses at 1.0 are significantly easier than many of the other bosses that get a bonus currently, and so that is spot on in my book. -
Quote:You have the complete chat logs from every server ? And every single post on the forums ?*The "problem" has never once been mentioned on the forums or in the game as an exploit or a problem,
No ? Then the above statement is simply wrong.
You may not have seen it mentioned, but I I have here, in game and over voice chat with SG mates. -
Early Game (Pre SO so 1-21)
Mid game (22-39)
Late game 40-50 and beyond.
The Key being you have gained access to all your primary and secondary powers (38) with a enough slots from 39 and 40 to 6 slot that 38 power if desired.
The storys and opposition really ramp up at 40+. -
Yes you can transfer $9.99 per character, and no bulk transfer deals
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Server_Transfer
covers what goes with you -
What I would do (and have done), is roll at level 33.
Funnily enough, I have started to slot level 32s versus 33s such that I have set bonuses if I flashback to level 29 missions.
I doubt that will catch on and view it as a personal eccentricity. -

Blue side (11)
Catwhoorg Claws/Regeneration Scrapper
My first 50, and still my goto character when I want some 'relaxing' and midless shredding Has completed every arc and every TF in the game. Working through AE content (non-farm) as and when the mood takes me. Spends a lot of time in flashbacks as well.
Dark Soy Sauce Kin/Dark Defender
Diva Lanzarote Sonic/Sonic Defender
Doc Pinewood Empathy/Electric Defender
Firey Red Fire/Fire Tank
Gjallerhorn Shield/Ax Tank
Hari Cane Ice/Storm Controller
Kittenwhoorg Claws/SR Scrapper
Mister Wales Rad/Rad Defender
Mr England. Archery/NRG Blaster
Mr Falkland Islands Ar/Dev Blaster
Redside (3)
ShadowCatwhoorg Claws/Regen Stalker my only truly ‘retired’ 50. I hated playing this character from about the mid 30's and up. Even with the buffs, it just is not fun for me. Only ground him out to 50 to unlock VEATS. Would use co-op teams on the double XP weekends as much as possible to get him there.
Revenant Cat Necro/Dark Mastermind
Commander Voorg Crab Solider
I have a Brute at 47 and another tank at 43.
Despite being significantly lower than those, my next 50 will likely be a corruptor as they get a regular weekly outing on a very devastating team.
My personal quest is covered in my .sig, every buff/debuff set to 50.
Have 6 there, 6 more on the way, and 1 (Poison) not actively played. (I have a MM in the teens which will come back into the rotation one day)
Of course you can make the argument that both VEATs are buff/debuff sets (I dont view them as such), which puts that at 7 there and 7 on the way.
What I have learned over the course of the game. (all IHMO of course)
1) People matter. I'm quite happy soloing, but the real fun comes with a large SG and taking on silly challanges and just blowing them away.
2) Outside of the late game TFs, team make up matter not. Even in those it matters only a little. (Our all stalker ITF was sucessful for example)
3) The easiest way to fail a respec trial is to mess up the level range, thankfully come I16 this will never happen
4) Nerfs are always overblown on the forums, and buffs clearly never go far enough. This is just forum hyperbole and can safely be ignored for the most part.
5) Burnout happens, I go in cycles of playing almost constantly to taking a few weeks where I am rarely on. This is outside of any major RL issues.
6) Real life (TM) pwns the game in every single situation. Kid bleeding ? Deal with the issue, dont even try to apologise for doing so. (but please do say you will be afk) -
Quote:I can take happily any of my defenders and defeat 3 even con minions using zero personal mitigation bar that which comes from my secondary. (knockback, tohit debuff whatever is there)For the reasons pointed out, fighting three minions DOES often require running four toggles, but this is beside the point..
No self heals, no shield toggles. Nothing from primary or pools.
You waste endurance running unecessary toggles, then complain about sucking wind, repeatedly. The solution is available to you.
This is a plain and simple a layer 8 OSI error. -
I run a variety of arcs, basically whatever takes my fancy at the time.
A couple of funs for me
For a quick dose of a few merits: The Strange Case of Benjamin Decker, also when run as a 50 does give some small chance of a purple drop.
I run a lot of the zone arcs (Hollows, Faultline Croatoa and Striga) to minimise travel time and find they have the most interesting stories and foes. -
Those 4 cost:
Dispersion 0.26
Maneuvers 0.195
Tough 0.1625
Weave 0.1625
each pulse every 0.5 seconds
Total 0.78/0.5 sec or 1.66 end/sec
Base recovery is 1.67 end/sec
Without slotting, just running those 4 toggles is basically using up the entire base recovery.
I'd say the point stands, those toggles are unecessary for soloing 3 even con minions, and a large portion of why Ultimo is running out of end as fast as he is. -
Quote:Fighting 3 minions doesn't require you to run 4 toggles. This is the core of your issue which you refuse to believe despite it being pointed out numerous times.Just to touch on the endurance issue...
Tonight I was playing my L32 FF Defender. He has a single EndRedx in all of his powers, and three slotted Stamina (all IOs). All his attacks have one Accuracy IO. This is usually enough to provide a 95% chance to hit (yet, according to herostats, I average around 60-80%...).
I run with four toggles (HALF as many as my Scrapper) - Tough, Weave, Dispersion Bubble and Manuevers. I'd LIKE to run Assault, too, but the endurance cost is prohibitive. As it is, I run out of endurance in EVERY fight, with EVERY minion (white conn).
That is, I see a group of three Minions. I hit them with Dispersion Bomb, then move in and blast them one at a time (since the AOEs use so much endurance). By the time I defeat one minion, I'm at a sliver of endurance, and I have to stop fighting. If I PFF, I'll be fine. If not, I'll be chewed up for several minutes while the endurance SLOWLY recovers. Doing this for every minion is VERY tedious.
I don't know which dev it is that thinks this is fun, but he and I have VERY different views on the subject.
Turn off some toggles and your end bar will thank you. -
dark pit is 11.92s seconds base.
PGT basically summons little clouds that then apply the hold. Those clouds are more persistent than the 10 secs.
Not sure of the exact exact details, but thats the quick version -
Which server do you normally play heroes on ?
Which server are you seeing this issue on ?
There is an issue with the East Coast servers caused by one of the ISPs that route data from that data center.
If you have switched servers it could be due to that. -
try using the www.badge-hunter.com alias for the same site.
Personally I prefer the titan sites (CIT and paragonwiki) for tracking and working out whats needed -
+recharge and +heal
I'd also invest is a Fruit Salad: Chance for interest if you can get one for your attacks.
