So They have some writers already...
Quote:Static type content like this is inevitable in an MMO. I mean how many times has Frostfire been arrested ? But when you run the arc on a character, it is the very first time he is arrested in the game.C'mon, how many years are the Rikti going to attack? So far they are the WORST invaders in the universe! After 2 years they haven't even knocked down 1 building in Talos! LOL
I recently rolled a Katana/regen scrapper. Why would she be locked out of say Rikti Swords if raids were pulled ? Or my characters who has fought off numerous attacks, why would it be fair to them to have a city block levelled ?
Is a dicotomy for sure, but one you can get your head aorund relatively easily. -
Quote:In my opinion coming out with accusations like this against regular and frequently helpful players should earn you a board ban.I wonder how many that want to keep the ultra rare purples the way they are, are in fact RMT's.
The market forum regulars are probably the most helpful sub-population (toss up between here and the base builders) if you are actually seeking help and are willing to listen. -
Quote:*nods* I still think some of them should have been in Pool B (with a low chance to drop), to encourage mission completions. Some of the market forum regulars were in the Closed Beta where purples were first released (I know that I was and I know that Uberguy was also). We brought up market concerns regarding both drop rates AND drop pool and were pretty much ignored then they were released and the predicted behavior occured.
Quote:The same thing happened with the rewards on AE (I was in the closed beta for that and so were many of the other market forum regulars Uberguy, Smurphy, and Catwhoorg are some that I saw for sure. We knew what effect the AE would have on the market, told the devs in closed beta, and again were ignored (until now when in typical dev fashion the nerf bat has swung, swung hard, and gone too far in the opposite direction.)
There is a reason why I have been less active in betas recently, Part of it is burn out, part of it is that my objective insight into things like rewards have been basically ignored.
My last big beta 'project' was the merits analysis and collation. Lookie whats happened there, story arcs have been 'bumped' up twice in median rewards since that analysis and discussion. -
Yep. Catwhoorg has 25 Purple IOs slotted. Across all of my alts I doubt I have seen 25 recipes drop personally.
Of course then there is the respec issue. With a brand new APP for scrappers, what I have swap say web grenade (immob) and shuriken (ranged), for fire blast (ranged) and Char (hold).
Web grenade and char take totally different sets. Right now anything is transferable or sellable. Having say 5 'junk' purples that are soulbound and cant be used by anyone else is not a route I want to go near.
Then there is the fact that when I do get drops, like the 2 I have luckily scored this week, thats sell for top inf, and buy a whole slew of 'lower' quality sets, like crushing impacts or doctored wounds. -
-
Yes it does and no in all honestly I doubt the Devs would do that deliberately. A bug is much more likely, but a bug with the RNG tied to specific maps has been seen before.
-
Another great piece of work, thank you. Again you surpass the 'official' trailer, though I admit they are getting better.
I wish you all the luck in the world with your current job hunting.
+1 for Date my Avatar btw... -
The current count is 68/90 useful when solo for primaries
22/90 not usable when solo -

Quote:An extension of that thought, could certain popular farm maps be set to a poor seed (by design or by accident)? Here's an interesting chain of thought.
When the demon ship map was bugged, it was using a static string of numbers, rather than a random one. That made it possible to manipulate it. At the time, SG-mode could drop base salvage, so by shifting in and out of SG mode, you could manipulate which numbers were rolled for what values.
Check drop rates on say an regular arc series, and then a repeated farm map. -
Madness indeed.
What use is force multiplication when solo ?
-
If everyone has mez protection, then mez will basically go from the PVE game.
Other threats that could be added, high levels of -tohit debuffing, end draining (sappers), burst damage (more mobs with build-up).
Seems to me like mez is the lesser of that list -
-
First Setting would be 0
Second setting would be +1
The setting you describe are equivalent to the old 'rugged' -
That looks like an 'official' NCsoft one.

Played some new alts, had a go at the Cuda SF last night to work on Masters Tactics and fiddled with the difficulty slider settings on my brute.
Set for 4 council was fine, Rikti was rough but doable, Carnies, not so much.
Need to find a sweet spot, until he gets more IOs.
He also got his first purple drop of the I16 era. -
Issue 17 - moar content please.
I know the content writers are busy on Going Rogue, but the last few issues have been content light. Be nice to have a whole slew of new arcs to work with -
Thanks Stoney and team
Downloaded installed and working great -
Periodically (I think twice now) they have reset the flag for everyone so that a change could be made.
I wouldn't be surprised to see such a reset occur at Going Rogue Launch.
Im very much in favour of a global flag reset as part of the anniversary event each year. -
Advantages are:
1) No end use
2) No suppression (even if held it still provides resistance)
Those are the reasons I took it on my blaster. -
Story arcs as TF mode:
See Flashback, which as of I16 (likely tomorrow) will still allow folks to earn XP when exemped -
Quote:The TF code prevented it when I tried (during the open testing of AE).Here's a question I never though to ask. Does the autocomplete function work with AE, or does the Task Force code prevent it?
Just for giggles I tried on test just now. You just don't get the option to drop when talking to the contact -
In response to my:
Quote:comment I got the follow (anon) rep comment8 defenders can do anything in this game, usually far safer and faster than any sort of mixed team
Quote:8 defenders can not do a hami raid
The RWZ Ship raid itslef is doable, depending upon how you judge sucess.
In terms of getting onto the ship and getting merits - yes.
Defeating Ukon is likely going to limited by team juggling to ensure that you can plant enough bombs. (it takes what 3 or is it 4 bombs planted to get him out)
It is interesting just how well an all defender Hami raid goes though. A couple were run on test which lacked a little in numbers showed by bringing down mitos showed that it was a) feasibility and b) required more than 22-23 defenders to be successful without many team wipes.
Get 4 teams out there (32) and it would be a different matter enitrely
Yellow Mitos (high non-melee defence) are taken out by massed tactics (and other +tohit) overcoming the ranged defence.
Blue mitos (ranged damage) fall easily
Green would probably be the trickiest, but there are enough defenders with holds that it shouldn't be an issue.
and of course no other heroside AT has howling twilight and its ability to return a tightly clustered raid group to full strength in a single activation.
