Look under the 'memorized' section, you craft at basically half price so its in a different tab.

    Same here.
  8. In the teamed versus solo, any tweak would have to be carefully done.

Right now, teams are faster XP/INF/prestige, but poorer drops.

Solo is better drops, but generally slower advancement. It is good design to avoid having a single method be best for everything. Otherwise gamers being what they are, that rapidly becomes 'required' or 'the norm'.

Going way back to the discussion over purple drops originally. I was very keen on having 1-2 from each set be Pool B drops rather than pool A. Such that people who ran and finished missions fast (such as say a defeat boss room only stalker), would have a better chance at those ones, and be able to use the market to sell them and buy others.

It was easy to see that a method (say fire/kin farming) that produced the fastest kills, plus the largest inf, plus the largest other drops and add the best way to get purples was not a balanced design choice.

That horse is long since bolted, but the lesson should be remembered. Make drops on large teams too good, and the perception will be that soloist or small teams are being 'penalized'. This would not be a good thing.
  9. May I point you towards dropstats. This sort of output is much easier to see what is expected and if you are actually getting out of range results.

My own few newspaper missions on my brute last night gave me this. Pool A recipes right on the button, salvage a little towards the low end, but Thursdays salvage was a little towards the high end.

    Code:

  10. Getting a level 40 to 50 is certainly feasible. On a typical Maria Jenkins Arc (Lots of AVs) the XP accumulates fast anyway, doubled its crazy fast.

It all depends on your ability to get on such a team.

Yes, the servers will be a whole lot busier.

I haven't even thought about any goals for myself. I have no-one I especially desperate to level fast, so I will likely just go with the flow of my coalition mates, and likely bring a support character from my stable.

  12. Just for information, according to the median completion rate equation (as revised by I16)

    250 merits via task forces = 12 hours 30 min (20 merits/ hour)
    250 merits via Arcs (including Oro) = 20 hours 50 min (12 merits/hour)

  15. So we can count on this being fixed in the next full build then ?
  16. Heraclea, no irrationality was implied. I unreservedly apologise if you picked anything like that from my post.

I believe I understand your position from previous posts, and whilst I may not agree with aspects of it, I certainly do not denigrate it.

<edit to add this specific example>
For a week before I16 launch and the drop rate patch this week I got 5 purple recipes. I dont know the exact inf as there were split between three characters over both sides, but for the sake of argument lets say they sold for a combined 500 million inf. (thats close from memory)

In a couple of weeks time I'll be able to buy those exact 5 recipes for significantly less than 500 million inf. Giving me what I had before in terms of recipes, plus a chunk on inf ontop.

Now I have no issue basically making inf of someone who is making a buy it nao decision, either through impatience or ignorance of the changes coming down the line.

You have your code you live by, and im 99% certain this contravenes it.

Turn off some of your resists - thats not a flippant suggestion

    1) /WP has a natural +HP amount that the damage has to break through before any of it counts

    2) /WP has a variety of damage resists, which make getting past the +Hp harder.

You would probably earn more credit for the badge running at an easier setting (say even con set for 3 or 4) trying to get by purely with RTTC, than larger spawns with the resist armours on.
  20. Some enterprising individual really ought to create a lottery using the existing in game means.

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=189945

    Oh wait ...

The OPs proposal goes against the whole idea of the market being an inf sink, and as such cannot be supported in the current form. Some variation of the way Smurphy ran his coded in game using only the inf put into it (and taking a 10% or so cut ontop) would however be reasonable.
  21. Not that I expect to sway anyone with this point.

Level 50 IOs specifically are going through an immense devaluation. The drop pacth has been live for 2 days, and the increase in supply, and the shift in the supply/demand curves can easily be seen.

Level 50 commons - Due to people trying to 'realise' value from the high level common salvage drops, supply up. Sales prices have dropped significantly.

Level 50 sets - same but slower due to the lower drop rates, there is a clear downward pressure on Pool A recipes.

Compared to level 50 IOs, inf is actually appreciating in value right now. Now there are niches out there which will appreciate relative to inf, but thats another story.

Overall being inf heavy is not a bad place to be right now.

  23. You can see how it works in the MA.

Create a mission objective that is required (say Crate)
Create several mission objectives that are not required (again Crates)

So your mission have several crates, only one of which is 'required' but all look identical.

In a low level arc - the clockwork captive one of the missions has multiple types of glowies (desks, wastebins, lockers, white boards).

The mission complete glowie is always on the same type, and once you know which one, you can skip clicking the rest.

Sidekicking always was broken to some extent, being lower level than average to the team should have been less rewarding rather than more as you contribute less, IMHO of course.

Don't forget there have been several iterations of trying to 'fix' sidekicking before this latest overhaul

Level range for XP on a team was originally 9, then 5, then the whole within 2 levels of the average.
