  1. OK there are two types of TF

    'Signature TFs' and 'non-signature TFs'

    Signature TFs (like the Freedom phalanx ones) alwasy spawn mobs at the top end of the level range (15 for Posi, 20 for Synapse etc)

    Moonfire is a non-signature TF, so the level of the highest character is used to set up the TF. So 23s would be fighting level appropriate foes.

    As of right now the leaders difficulty doesn't matter at all for a TF.

    In addition the level of the TF is locked at the start, so as your characters level you will be exemped back down to that level.

    This thread is about an IDEA I've had. Its purpose is to help Defender survivability, which IS an issue, as it has been discussed many times in the past, by posters other than myself, even in this very thread.

    The idea is that the two main defensive bubbles (Deflection and Insulation Shield) operate as both clicks and toggles, depending on the target. If the Defender targets an ally, it's a click effect. If he targets himself, it operates as a toggle, protecting the Defender.

    This may require a slight recalibration of the defense provided by the bubbles, but that would be determined through playtesting.

    THIS is what we're supposed to be discussing. Telling me my perceptions are wrong says nothing about the idea. Telling others how wrong I am does not discuss the idea. Discussing old threads does not discuss the current idea. You seem to be simply attempting to derail the thread rather than discussing the idea or contributing one of your own.
    OK. Simply put, its a bad idea mechanically. Toggle on a shield, what happens when you try to 'click' to buff someone. Currently any toggle gets toggled off.

    It requires extra coding to allow self targeting (which in itself is a hugely bad idea as then every single existing ally targeted click power has to be readjusted to define the effect on self) as well as the creation of this hybrid click/toggle class.

    Its a badly thought out convoluted way around the 'issue', and it doesn't address the main complaint I see about Force Fielders, which is the lack of a way of boosting their damage output.

    Heck you could simply add something like
    Self:
    •DMG(All Types) +15% for 10s [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]

    (fromat borrowed from defiance)
    to Force bolt and scale it to be a slightly stronger damage power (say the same damage as a tier 1 blast) and you have provided a way for the FF'ers to boost their damage significantly within the existing game mechanics.

    Whilst doing this add the same sort of self damage buff to heal aura for empathy and thats the other big issue with 'buff sets' soloability dealt with.

    Starts off fine, nice and polite. I would say, that this is the tell equivalent of cold calling, and I am sure you can equate to the fact that some find it annoying. Personally I use the in game do not call list (/hide from searches), to reduce the amount of it.

    him: Grow up kid, if you think that was rude you need to open your eyes, stop playing the game and walk outside. Also, welcome to my ignore list.
    100% in the wrong, both of you. Two people being rude don't make it right.

    My suggestion to you would have been to use a playernote on the guy, as someone who really didn't like a tell, add maybe a star rating so you will knwo its the same player in future if you see them in the zones.

    (all players with a playernote from me have a star rating and vice versa, if I see someone with stars I know to check for a note)

    I dont know exactly, but it should be round about 110-120 to spawn the RWZ 2, and even then you can still get into RWZ 1 until it gets to the hard cap (which IIRC is about 150 or so)

    Fabricator

    Buy salvage for any of the following at level 50

    Acc*
    Dam*
    Endrec
    EndMod
    Defbuff
    Damres
    Recharge*

    *has the cheapest salvage based on current trading patterns.

    Craft then and list at ~300 000 inf (which covers the cost and then some small profit).

    you should be able to clear at least 20/day.

    Those (temp powers etc) are the PVP mini-games. You consent to PvP to participate in them.

    Want the accolades with minimal risk, then hit the zones at a queit time.

    As for the rep comment... You want rep you have to partake in PvP, it is awarded for player defeats, you really cant get much more definitive PvP than can you ?
  8. Examples not an exaustive list.

    (note AE foes not included as you can easily make them resistant at any of minion/lt/boss if the author wishes)

    Bosses Vulnerable to Knockback

    Low level
    Bone Daddies
    Damned
    Eidelons
    Lead Outcasts (Shocker, Scorcher, Freezer)
    Clockwork
    Circle
    Council
    Cobras
    Arachnos
    Longbow

    Bosses with partial immunity - when their armour is toggled on
    Ogres (I'm not sure about Calibans)
    Lead Bricks
    Mu Guardians (fly type)

    Mid level
    Vulnerable
    BP Totems
    CoT
    Council
    Freaks
    Jumpbots
    DE
    Family
    Warriors

    Bosses with some degree of immunity
    BP masks (do get knocked back, but they can fire again quickly due to their fly)
    Skyraider Sky Skiffs (fly type)

    High Level
    Vulnerable
    Nemesis Warhulks/Fake Nem
    Some Longbow
    Most Arachnos
    Dark Ring Mistresses
    Preatorian Bosses
    Malta Gunslingers
    Vanguard
    Cot Death Mages/Succubi
    Freaks

    Some immunity
    Certain Longbow
    Mu Guardians (fly type)
    Master Illusionists (fly type)
    Malta Zeus (I do get to overcome the protection even on a claws scrapper but not reliably)

    The simple fact is that most types of bosses have no protection versus knockback/down. Im basing this list on some 2000+ hours on Cat using focus, which is 0.67 Mag. (and obviously experience with other forms)

    If he can do it with a low Mag, then any AT's force bolt can.

    Except it isn't.

    The only places in CoX where PVP occurs, both parties have consented by their actions. Entering a PvP zone activates your PvP flag, same as entering an arena.

    GR will be an expansion. If you don't buy it, you don't get stuff. Though I haven't met anyone yet who isn't getting it. But new players might not be interested in an expansion.
    Prior to that gift, in my own expereince (and SG lists) there were a signficant minority of single single side players - both blue and red.
  11. If you are after a Pool A rare it is better to roll Bronze.

    The large price differential of the bronze and silver makes the ticket per Pool A costs less via bronze, based upon the rare/uncommon ratio seen from extensive testing.
  12. I listed and sold 5 crafted level 50s just this weekend.

    I have been having a run on them dropping from random rolls
  13. Simply put, the level of the team for a TF/SF is set and locked when the TF/SF is started.

    Unless you are deliberately intending to make it difficult for yourself, the leader should be at/above the cap for the TF/SF.

    This simple advice applies to every TF/SF in the game.
  14. For the whole household:

    60 month accounts x2 (At ~11.95/month) 717 each, plus $30 purchase $50 for colelctors, $50 for COV collectors
    Boosters GVE, Wedding, 'Mac Pac' Super boosters 1 through 4 (8 at $15)

    Total each account estimate $967

    30 month accounts x2 (Buddy code so no upfront - 7 boosters each is missing the MA pack until my next payday)

    $463.50 or so

    Total household $2861

    (For comparison my monthly cable bill is $132 and change. Cable TV and internet over the same period of 5 years has been about $8000 including some PPV events)

    <edit>
    I dont view this expenditure as an 'investment' though, its a payment for an entertainment service.

    Peterpeter has made the good point in the past that loot should reward participation more than outright winning. Having a small chance to get a PVP IO drop on a defeat (with timers etc to reduce farming) would be an example of this subtle change.
  16. I just want to discuss the detention field for a moment, and really have the same view as Panzer does.

    Over the weekend, I was part of a Doc Q TF. It is moderately well know that the Rularru Wisps Overlords have this power, and use it frequently.

    Take the team tank out of the fight, and all of a sudden the rest of the team is in a lot more bother.

    Its the same with players using it. Phase an AV and wipe out his minions, then everyone can focus on the AV. Double pull on a STF is another great example he used.

    Despite that my higbie FF doesn't have the power, it came below other possibilities in my thoughts of usefulness, but my sonic does have sonic cage and she has used it in those osrt of situations when teamed, and uses it often on the rare occasions she is soloing.

    This is definately me. Comes from playing rugby, literally a word of back talk to the ref, was a penalty against you, or 10 yards ground if the opponents had a penalty.

    Even in the professional game, there is a little more leeway for genuine questions, but they normnally come from the captain or vice captain, and back chat gets the same penalties.

    For me it makes for a far more fun game to particpate in (these days watch) than the continual torrent of abuse that is laid towards a referee in football (scoccer) from the players.

    Thats your idea of fun, it isn't mine. Again if people are reaching out to others such as me, (the existing for want of a better term casual PvPers) to particpate with them, surely to attract me to play regularly shouldn't they listen to what they would like and their issues ?

    (Note: Im not claiming that the issues I have are universal, but the trash talking one does come out time and again from different sources)
  18. My own is similar to the OP, just not full

    * Jump Pack
    * Pocket D VIP Pass
    * Base Transporter
    * Ouroboros Portal
    * Mission Transporter
    * Assemble the Team
    * Vet Buff Pet
    * Non Combat pet

    My field crafters have the crafting station in there generally.

    then things like the Day job base porter or Wents porter round it out.
  19. I feel you pain.
    On Saturday I was helping my niece with some maths assignments for about 2 hours.

    Most of the time I can breeze through it as I use a lot of math on a daily basis, but I admit I had to look a few things up (eg congruency rules for an Iscosoles Rhombus).

    Advertising?

    I haven't seen a WOW advert on TV, but have watched various of them on youtube.

    I have seen a SWG advert on TV, one either SciFi or discovery, though it was quite a while ago (I'm thinking over a year ago)
  21. Mid range salvage of all sorts go through surges and lean times.

    Partially it is related to invasions, where both Rikti and Zombies drop level 30 IOs and salvage.

    Not true. MOST bosses are affected by knockdown and knockback.

    Even a few EBs are affected by it (eg Heracles in Striga)
  23. claws is a great set for /EA.

    Single target knockdown, plus the AOE knockback

    Interesting you put it that way. What about the idiocy of someone who tries trash talking over the internet.

    if it is wrong to take offense at simple text, surely it is equally wrong to try to cause offense ?

    It is entirely unnecessary and it is offputting to some.

    What happens in my own life, from the long ago days of board games and P and P games, is such people tend to not get invited back.

    As an occasional PVPer, I will keep doing what I choose (which is PvP amongst adults who know how to behave) and leave the 'PvP crowd' to dwindle further.

    Kismet Accuracy

    Basically it will apply for as long as the toggle (hide) is active, and for 120s after you turn it off.
