  1. The obvious redsider is a stalker and focus on Spyhunt in Flashback
  2. A pleasure doing business with you Postalous.

During my week off next week, a posi a day to start each morning, and I'll recoup the merits and then some.
  3. Catwhoorg

    Damage output?

I saw him spawned as a boss.

To get him as an EB you have to adjust your difficulty UP. Ergo if you are having issue with him as an EB run on the default difficulty.

Mister Wales, a rad/rad defender happily took him down.
  4. Added another set of runs tonight

    Boss drop rate: average 56.3% (95% confidence interval 48.2 - 64.4)
Minion drop rate: average 10.7% (95% CI 8.5-13.0)

Firming the numbers up quite nicely.

    Damage output?

What is the custom EB's sets ?
    And at what settings ?
  6. Take for example a 240 merit direct buy option.

That would be 12 rolls, especially with the weighting that was added the odds are you are going to have 2 or more than you can usefully use.

So you get at least twice the recipes that direct buying would provide and then you sell the remaining 10 for inf.

The exception is if you are wanting a just one or a few IOs. The chances of getting that one by rolling are much redcued and a direct buy becomes more reasonable.

The random rolls on average and over time exceed spending a large amount of a direct bought high seller like the LoTG or miracle. There is a risk involved, but the more you roll the closer to the 'average expected' perforance you will be.

    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Bronze_Class_Recipe_Roll
lists what in a brozne roll. There are links to silver and gold on that page
(gold rolls are the same as merit rolls)

Bronze is by far and away the cheapest in terms of tickets, and that makes it more profitable (but more effort to manage) in terms of inf/ticket.

Bronze rolls provide recipes that drop in Pool A (uncommon and rare).
35-39 is recommended as its a level where you can get most of the very good sets without too many poor sellers (A lot of the 10-30 sets just aren't used much)

The cap at 35 sets of kinetic combat especially and entropic chaos are both good profitable recipes to sell, which is why you dont generally go for 40-44.

30-34 rolls are about the same in profitability (last time it was checked in detail anyway), but vastly more variable. the regen tissue +regen being the huge caps at 30 recipe added.
  7. The Data Mined Median Merits/time for.

    TF is 20 merits/hour
Story arc is 12 merits/hour (4-6 in half an hours is a little under par to spot on the median)

To maximise returns (if you are interested in doing so), make sure you focus on the 'task in hand'. If its a defeat boss and guards, even if you aren't stealthing to the end room, try to take a direct path and avoid dead ends with groups that aren't needed.

What I do when trying to eanr merits is basically find arcs I have fun with, and not worry about optomising a return. After a few arcs, you would be amazed at how fast the merits can add up.

For efficient use of merits, random rolls generally beats direct buy, unless there is a pressing reason to direct buy (like a level 50 wanting a level 15 stealth IO)
  8. I dont know if there is a specific listing but here is the breakdown

    I9 was most sets (obviously)
I11 added Taunt, Knockback, Endurance Modification, To Hit Buff, To Hit Debuff, Defense Debuff and Purples
I13 added Universal Travel, Recharge Intensive Pets, Accurate Healing and Debuff plus 2 new hold sets and the 'nuke type' PBAOE (no endrec but more+rech)

We are porbably due some other new sets, a TAOE for nuke types being an obvious gap.
  9. Positron TF can easily be done in 90-120 mins with a duo after a litrle practice, and it doesn't have to be done all in one sitting. I have broken it into 1-2 mission chunks over the course of a wekk before.

You would need a 3rd warm body to help you start and then they quit the team

Other than that running arcs in flashback would award merits to all the team members, so both of you if you duo. Take the chnace and see content you haven't previously done.

Story arcs inclduing flashbacks award 60% of the merit reward that task forces do (based on median completion times)
  10. #1 The people
    #2 The Boom de Yada
    #3 The FREEM!

My playtime goes up and down (the next 2 weeks will be hugely UP thanks to use it or lose it PTO rules). I just cant ever see myself unsubscribing, unless I literally cannot afford it.
  11. Doh! I overloooked that the free transfers create a oppurtunity for corss server direct trading.

I have plen ty of merits on Triumph and could do a direct buy at whatever level, then meet and direct trade, if Ragman cant hook you up form his stock.
  12. Saturdated RttC out performs integration significantly.

RttC base is 100% + 25% per foe in range (350% when saturated, 680% is with 3 SO)
    Integtration is 100% + 50%(ingnores enhancements/buffs) giving 245% with 3 SO slotting

However, the strength of regen set overall comes from the click powers.
If you only care about the passive +regen then an often saturated willpower is better no question.
  13. The current way the recipes and salvage are coded make this very difficult and cumbersome to implement.

Take a look at brainstorms as a first example.
Every single 'base' salvage had to have a seperate recipe for the creation of brainstorms. There was no way of making a generic 'convert one base salvage to one brain storm' recipe.

Another example would be memorised recipes. To get the cost difference, they have to have a second 'recipe' that you get, rather than adjusting the costs of the existing one.

To implement this as things stand, you would have to have two recipes, one using current salvage, then a new and different recipe that uses the single piece 'universal' salvage.

Aetts version where the universal replaces a single salvage item make this worse.

taking the example of Decimation Acc/dam/recharge

    Currently 1 recipe requiring:
    Acncient Bone
    Inert Gas
    Commerical Cybernetic
    Military Cybernetic

Substituting 'universal' salavge for just one adds 4 new recipes
Substituting 'universal' in two places adds a further 6
Substituting 'universal' in three places adds a further 4
A final recipe with universal salvage in all places adding 1

    16 possible recipes.

Whilst the concept is resonable, and long established in gaming of all sorts (the 'blank' tile in scrabble for example), the execution given the invention system we have right now, would be both clunky and unwieldy.

The invention system would have to be reworked pretty much from the ground up to get this to fly.

  16. After adding todays runs

    Boss rate 56.7%
    Minions 12.2%

I'll do the stats after tomorrow's runs to get a 95% confidence interval.
  17. please no.

I have over 2000 hours playtime on my main at 50.

Forced retirement is simply a bad idea.

  19. It takes until about level 20 for the differences to become fully apparant.

Factoring in defiance the blaster will probably be running at close to double the damage of the defender.

The -res debuff from the acid mortar will help close this gap somewhat, but the defender is still significantly weaker post 20
  20. A word of advice:

Rather than spending 250 merits to get a single recipe, use random rolls.

At 12.5 rolls per recipe bought the odds are very much in your favour than one of those 30 level 50s can use a particular roll. Even if you only can use a quarter of the ones rolled, thats still going to be getting Pool C's at three times the rate of direct buying.

Direct buying is best used sparingly as:
    a) random rolls makes you inf faster.
    b) if fitting out a lot of characters gets you more recipes you can use per merit spent.

    <edit>

In reply to the orginal post, I think that the proposed addition is simply waste of dev time.
There have been three major chnages in the merit rewards which would have required going through and text editing the reward for every single TF and arc.
Thats a lot of text editing to check for any changes.

Documenting the merits per arc is something most efficiently done by players in things like the wiki.

    <edit 2>

In additon the 60% 'penalty' is an outdated number (as well as worng concept). The basic min/merit for claculations is currently set at 3.7 (per synapse).

Issue 16 boosted Story arc rewards (including flashbacks) significantly (IIRC 50% and the reason for the edit delay is I'm trying to source that), which puts the multiplier at 0.6 instead of 0.4.

    <edit 3>
Can't find the CoH forum list, it must have been in the I16 test subsections which are now gone.

This wiki difference shows the I16 changes which show an on average 50% boost in the merits per story arc.

There are variations of course, Dark Watchers arc tripled (6 to 18), Serpent Drummers dropped from 9 to 10

So no official cite I am afraid, but that should be enough for folks to accept that arc rewards were significantly buffed as recently as I16.
  21. I got a Celerity +Stealth, ie a Pool C drop for sure. I think some of my Pool As came from the bosses. I'll verify tonight.

    <edit>
Got Pool As last night from bosses.

1st run tonight got a Pool A drop from the first Winter Lord Boss
  22. rad/rad is a fun build, it was my first defender to 50.

rad/* is much sought after by teams and alwasy useful in big events. Not too shabby solo either.

I have just started the journey over again with a brand new rad/sonic myself. So can't give specific advice on that yet, but I know rad/ and I know /sonic (I have a son/son at 50), and ist just going to be a hoot.

Sonic primary really isn't that good a set for a predominatly solo defender.
  23. I happily pulling the one Freedom character I care about off to Triumph, after moving several off of Triumph to another server (destination still uncertain, still discussing with friends).

I have no ill will to freedom, I just don't like the 'atmospshere' of the server.
