I use shockwave a lot, and most definately along the line that Sagitaur17 states.
Use it actively to clump groups into terrain features.
The other use is for a little breathing room, such as to use aid self, and most critters just come running right back to you. -

Interesting that this same point of view is not thought to be valid about the market. People come in to this section and spout armchair nonsense all the time, but those who actually understand the market are made out to be the bad guys.

Tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses as I know it) is a guaranteed draw unless one person makes a mistake. -
I remember closed testing that issue, before the bridges and the associated mobs were added to the valley.
That was mostly lag free.
I do think its simply related to the sheer numbers of Romans in close proximity, and the server slowing down due to the number of calculations.
Ontop of that would be framerate issue for some machines. -

A long time ago I created a spreadsheet based on the defeats per level.
I have tried to keep it upto date, but I haven't added the recent level 50 inf change. I needd to knuckle down and do that, as well as get it uploaded onto Google doc or similar. -
Solo using even con minions
49 528 minions to get to 50
27 404 383 inf from the defeats
(Roughly double this for vendor sales, I don't have it exactly)

In MIDS its listed as 4.15 Mag, which would be knockback
I have never had the power in game
(edit gah had the LR Mag intially due to a mousing error) -
The City vault couldn't be turned into the product that the Studio wanted it to be without a significant hit on the game server performance.
This was judged unacceptable.
Its basically shelved until they figure out a way to make it work

you forgot to more recent 50% boost to story arcs, since Synapse made that statement.
Story arcs are now targeted at 12 merits/hour. -

I know if they offered lifetime subs ONLY to new subscribers I would be annoyed.
Lifetime subs can be a great deal for players, but are a poor one for the company, unless they need a large cashflow boost (such as at launch). Even then its pretty debateable.
Heck go back to the gaming magazines of yesteryear. Having to print issues for 'lifetime' subscribers was an ongoing cost that drove more than a few out of business.
Same holds true for other areas. I have a colleague who has life time membership to a huting association. They mail him 6 times a year a magazine, and various other bits and pieces. He pays them nothing in an ongoing manner.

a system where it's more profitable to get 8 good players and gang up on 8 bad players for 10 mins straight while cycling targets in quick succession is just straight up griefy.
Outside of a PVP defeat, what other options are there for having PVP drop something ?
