If I were arctic sun, I would have it say "Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom" in 38 point size, bookman old-style font and color as bright red as the monitor can handle.

This is probably why they don't let me talk to people in my current job...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think posting something as simple and yet as mysterious as this - the day before I leave - is tease enough!

    cheers,

Granted, it's hard for all US companies or officials to do anything about farming and bootlegging, but Isn't NC-soft based out of Asia too? ...They could track these spammers down in a minute if they used their resources over there.

    [/ QUOTE ]
NCSoft is based in Korea. And this kind of "business" is considered legitemate in Korea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

NCsoft a few monaths ago (mabye last year) Banned something ridiculous in terms of numbers of gold farming accounts in lineage and LII. I want to say 100K or more but need to find that press release...

    Catwhoorg exists everywhere

Heck on at least one server there is already a "Catwhoorg."

Some are level 1, most are in the 5-10 range, obviously 1 is 50
  11. They are IMHO unlikely to aever nnounce when they run the script to stop people trying to rush a test/camp names at a particular moment.

And as Arcanaville said, Ultimus that sentance does answer your question.

  14. I'd love to read a for more of the entires, maybe one or two per issue for the next month.
  15. The issue needs more ducks!

    great job as always folks.

I found the SG ladder in the Pvp section very interesting. Hopefully that competition really takes off
  16. Thanks for the explanation Ex.

personally I think 6 feels a little low, but Im data driven, and it sounds like you folks have done the homework.

Sorry to come off all EMO and sour but it´s damn annoying to be left with the feeling that the double XP weekends is only being catered to those in school and people who can change their schedule with a moments (as 2 weeks is in real life time) notice.
    *sigh*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Over two weeks is hardly "a moment's notice". It's unfortunate that you can't participate. However, your post makes it sound like most players need 5-weeks of notice in order to play CoX on a weekend.

There will always be people who have other things planned during a given weekend but most people are not going to benefit more from 5 week notice than 2 week notice. I expect the "my schedule is flexible if I have 5 weeks notice but not flexible if I only have two weeks notice" group is pretty small.

This really doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to complain about. Cryptic isn't the bad guy because you have an inflexible schedule.

*note: I know there are people who have month-scheduled-jobs. But they are very outnumbered by people who have other sorts of jobs (week schedules, 2-week schedules, regular 9-5 M-F jobs, students who don't have class on weekends, etc, etc, etc.) and they (rather than game companies) are responsible for their situations (which may be great other than missing some double xp weekends).

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are people in my company whos schedule is locked in basically a year in advance unless they can arrange their own cover by swapping out a shift with one of a very few others.

typical ? hardly - but it does happen.
  18. Or people using trial accounts and vote rigging
  19. <QR>

I managed to miss the poll, mainly because of a vacation trip so no biggie.

One thing I would like to see addressed is secondary effects

Currently scrappers can using their primary

    1) Boost their own to hit and damage
    2) Boost their own defence
    3) reduce the foes tohit

Now a gaping hole is a -res or maybe a foe -dam effect. (-regen rightfully stays with the more support oriented sets)

One of these new sets should have a -res as a secondary effect. Not much maybe in the 5-10% range, but stackable from different powers (like the sword sets can stack -def)

    Free Respec!

Freespecs come at server maintenace (easier/safer to access the database).

I roleld up 4 new alts this morning so they will have them available.

    Thanks Cricket.

see you on the AA boards soon (im reupping there for a month or two)
  23. A sonic bubbler may help with that Tun.
  24. [ QUOTE ]

Yeah, theres a chart on paragonwiki showing the %. So, a level 10 schedule B IO may give 5%, a level 40 would give 21.64%, and 50 would be a 23% boost. So, you COULD keep a level 10 IO all the way up, but it wouldnt be that good compared to what you could have. On the other hand, when you made level 14, it wouldnt suddenly drop off the end of the world and provide 0% enhancement.

Please correct me if Im wrong, but it seems to be correct in light of dev statements. Of course, Im sure the numbers can/will change during development, so a 23% could end up 33% or 15%.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This chart was based upon Set-IO numbers (which have since changed) , but it does give the general idea.

Once I have hard data from test on the common IO's (ie after it goes public) I'll plot a chart for that.
