  2. *echoes Jasmine*

Brad, this welcome was my beacon to get me started in the open testing - Its the best Issue guide we have had.
  3. Very interesting to see that.

    Thanks for the links.
  4. I think this sounds Great LH.

Keep up the good work - NC^2

Our moderation team has been placed on high alert for all forums above the "For Fun" and "Servers" sections. By high alert they are searching for specific violations.
Refrain from such posts as :

    [/ QUOTE ]

By high alert for those sectsion, do you ACTUALLY mean that basically the 'for fun' and server sections are now basically unmoderated ?

It certainly seems that way now.
  6. Anyone on the SG roster, during the morning maintenance.

(which means they cant be online)

Their account doesn't even have to be active, just be on a roster spot.
  7. I miss Craban....

    *sniff*

This thread made me realise that.

    Managing Director, I'd say.

Thats the usual in this context. The whole two countries divided by a common language raises its head.

Does this mean that the Jack E. "Statesman" is no longer affiliated with the game?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes.

  11. Ex,
I applaud your efforts at stimulating PvP in this game, even if I rarely parkate in any of them

I just as equally applaud your efforts at being 'in game' dishing out those groovy yellow titles at many, many diverse functions.

Two that really stick out in my own mind are the Macron memorial, and the Fusion Force Anniversary. Very different events and you supported them both.

Since you came on boards the Community representation in game has been far higher than ever. Which to me is wonderful, as not everyone comes to the boards.

    Keep it up.

Coincidence that this was announced at the same time the released Q3 results are showing that monthly access numbers are at their lowest point in 2 years?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Link please. I know my monthly access numbers were at an all time low the last two months.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    same place as always Bill
    www.NCSOFT.com.

the last time the monthly access was this low was March 2005 when we were still rebounding from the WOW launch.

Tthis year has been funny, we dropped about 20K with the launch of Burning Crusade, and then have fluctuated up and down by a further ~10K.

Here's to hoping this announcement is DOUBLE good news for me. Staffing up GOOD!

For those interested in gainful gaming employment, check out the NCsoft North America Jobs Listing. Positions for "Mountain View" would be in our newly formed NCsoft NorCal Studio.

    [/ QUOTE ]

hmmm. They have an opening for "Powers Designer".

hey Castle, can I use you as a reference?

    [/ QUOTE ]

*cracks Fanboy upside the head with a Nerf bat*

Silly fool. We want Arcanaville to take that job.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They can't afford her hourly rate.

That said, give Fanboy the job because he listens to Arcana.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was eying that position as well. A year ago my wife would happily have moved to California, our circumstances have changed a bit (well one heck of a lot actuallY), so tis but a pipe dream for me to apply.

*prepares list of suggestsions for Fanboy and/or Arcanaville*

Additionally they appear to be lining up with the idea that there competition is Sony not Blizzard , this means that they want a nice collection of core games to offer for a station pass type arrangement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

NCsoft stated this aspiration (to be betetr than Sony) maybe 2 years ago. I'll have to dig through my analyst stuff to find an exact quote, but they have viewed SOE as their benchmark competitor for as long as I have held stock and been following them closely.

NCsoft as a corporate culture believes that studio culture should be determined by that studio. If anything the project may see a sharing of resources of some of our other award winning and current titles.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    What sort of resources, Ex?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not that it was addressed to me, but heres my thoughts.
NCSoft has alwasy been excellent about coding to reduce server lag, and its documented they have given support to thier 3rd party studios in this regard.

Being fully owned may boost their ability to recode to reduce server issues, whilst retaining their full IP in this area.
  16. Does the debt wipe count towards badge progress ?

I need to get my forum title changed (-_^)b

    [/ QUOTE ]

But you get a upgraded box, with a WINDOW now.

    (maybe)
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Point 2 is always a potential problem >.> So no disagreement there. NCSoft certainly knows MMOs, but their big seller is Lineage...

Point 3 wouldn't bother me much. CoH 2 would presumably be like CoH 1, but BETTER! If we maintain the same quality of free issues, and they start charging us money for BETTER issues (ie, expansions), I won't shed a tear.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lineage II is bigger than Lineage but only just and BOTH get plenty of updates.

NCsoft has been working hard at diversification away from their sole dependence of the L/LII core. we see CoX, Guild Wars (4 parts now), (Auto Assault), Dungeon Runners, Tablua Rasa.

Up and coming are Aion, Exteel, Guild Wars II (complete new system)

What we dont see in the US/Europe is the 'casual game' portal - as far as I can tell much like the ~$10 games you download from Comcast/MSN. Puzzles simple action games etc. Im not how profitable it is as of now, but it is a key part of the NCSoft growth plans.

A station pass of some sort is much more likely under full ownership.
  19. Active in the marketplace.

If you log in and dont check at Wents, that doesn't help against the timeout
  20. I ran the respec trial just once in October, but 4 times in September.

There are plenty of teams running them as is. Mostly it seems for the recipe these days, so the respec recipe drops shouldn't affect that one bit

So, no freespec with the release of i11?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I11 has been confirmed as coming with a Freespec and free costume tokens.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Don't offer things until you already have them ready for delivery

    [/ QUOTE ]

At that point why have a poll - push it out the door.

A player poll to determine direction pretty much requires you dont have the finished products ready.
  23. The 42 month badge is awarding, and Posi apologised that the power that goes with it is not in place until I11 hits.
  24. Grats on the Anniversary Lighthouse, was a rough road at first for you and the community until we adpated a little to each other.
  25. Not so much, running on a full team of 8 doing several doors in an area, and still the usual summon was an LT + minion, or 3 minions who basically dont get out of the door alive.

There is no challenge to this level of spawn for a big team.

As for trading the costume salvage ? well out coalition still had plenty left from last year. Every character of mine who wanted it had an extra slot already.

Instances with normally scaling mobs would be much more fun to me.
