Story Arc: Not really clear to me - the mission is "Travel to Cimerora" given after finishing "Midnighter's Hand Part 2"
Contact: Ashley McKnight
Merits Awarded: 1
Edit: I can't find it in the guides on Merits, so is this one that was added?
[/ QUOTE ]
It was there before. Same as blueside, but its a one off and not in Oro so I guess it just got omitted when we wikified the data. -
I'll like to chime in and agree with the thread.
1) Thanks Posi and Synpase for discussing this and coming to the conclusion you did. I14 is not too far off for the fix to come.
2) A huge thanks Posi for being open about the process and how things come about. The Dev communication in this game is second to none, and is a big reason why we have such a great community. -
Great news Niviene.
Thanks for this. -

There is one escape hatch here. The devs could have datamined how many free costume tokens the "average" long-term player burns through, and how much they spend on costume changes, and determined that the 50% discount actually *would* benefit a significant percentage of the players nearing eligibility for the badge. Its really difficult to extrapolate how other players are or are not using these things.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much. I thought it was a waste, stated so even on SG forums. Got my backside chewed out by the Iconaholics, who have used every costume token available to 4+ year vets on multiple characters.
Me. Im sat with 50+ on several.
I'll trust the Devs (assumed) datamining on this one. -
Mad - go back and look at the last 5 sales for each of those.
Just because there isn't inventory at the second you looked, doesn't mean there are not sales passing through.
I know for a fact I have bought and sold some of those at non-50 levels -

I'm usually in your camp on many things, but how is this not exploitive PowerLeveling for a fee?
[/ QUOTE ]
In fairness...that is exactly what is happening ingame now. If you go to PI on Freedom, people are paying 1-2 million per fun on farms.
[/ QUOTE ]
We can buy fun directly now?
[/ QUOTE ]
I personally would never pay 1-2 million per fun, but I would gladly pay 5-10K per fun.

I give you FUN long time Mister... -

Smurph,
are those links static ? or do they chnage when the sheets get updated ? -
That patch note specifically says there is no minimum.
You can easily say start Augustine ( 8 minimum) go down to 2 people by having 6 quit and run that TF fighting spawns set for 2 on the Door missions.
The minimum to start rule went in on 2-12-2008, then was superseded by the 3-05 version -
Not quite Steele, that was in place for a while (~4 weeks) until the currently active system, which is purely the number on the TF (logged on or off).
This went in in March

You missed the mission 5) which would be a repeat of misison 1, which eliminates a Diminishing returns idea.
As long as you dont have a co-op version you get the candy canes as a sidekick. The testing I need to finish is if you have to drop sidekick or not. -
[ QUOTE ]
You can farm and store Candy Canes, though with the 30 piece limit for base salvage, it could be more frustrating than it's worth.
[/ QUOTE ]
A characters inventory space for candy canes is assumed to be 9999 (like vanguard merits and brainstorms) I dont know of anyone who has hit it.
you dont need base strorage for them. -
I totaled up the 97 Strike and Task Forces I ran this year before the merits system was introduced.
2265 merits would have been generated. An average of 23.35 merits per task/strike force.
(113 random rolls with change)
that Includes a Doc Q and an Eden or two whenever I had a character in the 39-41 range.
It also includes quite a lot of CaP runs as part of the BMLS.
Completely meaningless in terms of the behaviour of the whole game population, but it it piqued my interest and I thought I would share. -
If you change to the new billing, the next time the card gets charged (ie early December 2009 from your comment) you get the 14 months added

I switched all 4 household accounts from annual to the 12+2 billing with no issues.
The 1st renewal was due in March IIRC, then scattered throughout the year
[/ QUOTE ]
But did you do so using Paypal for the +2 billings?
[/ QUOTE ]
Im afraid not, a regular visa card. -
Tough choice.
#1 VEATS
#2 General QOL improvements
#3 the ITF -

A GM column ?
Excellent idea. One suggestion for it would be, just how to write a good 'stuck' petition (like mob in the wall or similar) -
Most of this I am sure you have read from my pervious posts on this subject.
Objective:
The time/reward initial pass certainly didn't get everything as close as it should. Posi and Doc Q are heavily over-rewarded for time. Doc Q especially with the extra travel options now available you should pretty much throw out any and all data times from early runs. Team recall + Eveyone able to have fly. O portals, SG base portals to get back to the city fast.
(Subjective:that said Im not in a hurry to do it again. 4 hours for 90 merits, I'd rather run Posi twice for 55+diminished 27 - its less painful)
A redside example of an over-reward is Breaking Knives (Arbiter Daos) 9 merits for 3 door missions (2 defeat all) 3 or 4 merits woudl be comprable to other arcs of that length and difficulty.
The new system is quite hard to pick-up. I have spent a lot of time chatting with my wife about it in person, and a lot of time on SG boards and in the SG globals trying to help people out. Better documentation on the website would help (in game the merit vendors/informers seem to be decent enough to me).
Running just a few characters through new zone arcs (striga, faultline and Croatoa) I have earnt several random rolls (not taken yet) without running a TF. Its has created a diversity of ways to get Pool C drops that was not there before.
Overall TF rewards are up assuming you didn't run one or two fast TFs constinuously. As a great fan of running different TFs this is a bonus for me.
Subjective:
Im loving the new system. The chnace to run some of the longer TFS and arcs and get significant rewards is great. We had an SG event for 45-50s running Heros Hero. 19 Merits is JUST shy of a TF random for it. It has increased the diversity of team events for me. Though part of that may just be a skewed perception as due to a family illness I have been very restricted in my teaming for a while.
Ability to work deterministically is good
The fun of analysing and working out 'profitable' levels and numbers of random rolls appeals to the math nerd and gambler in me
Summary:
Im thoroughly enjoying the merits system right now. -
Because it is interupting their ski runs ? Stopping them getting badges, but mainly because it is acting like a <censored>
-
Summon it say on the middle of the ski run.
People run into it and STOP.
Thankfully each has the summoners name on for an easy /petition. -
Thanks Ex for the strong and clear statement on the griefing aspect on the slopes.
Last year we saw similar issues, hopefully a clear comment like that will nip any such behaviour in the bud this year. -

I got a stupid question. Are we getting our xp bonus this year also? I remember we got one week of xp bonus right around this same time.
