someone's probably crafting and listing them at 1.99 million... or 1.88... or whatever they think is going to get rounded up to 2 million. My guess is it's above 1.8 million because it's consistently going for 2, and if you do, for instance, 1.601 you're going to get someone bidding 1.75 or 1.8 eventually.

Someone told me once, "never list or bid an even number." Ego's Shadow, I think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup, thats what I do. If something is selling for 2,000,000 then I list it for 1,999,999. Depending on the last 5 that sold.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can say for sure that if there are several for sale, dropping 1 inf on a 2 million last 5 will not be low enough to get the next sale.
  2. My rule:

If I think there may be money to be made, check the last 5 pricing to be sure.

If I think its unlikely to make money, do the same. I have been surprised a few times at the prices so called 'poor sets' can make.

If its a really over dropped item (say a uncommon fear IO) vendor it. even if you can make money on the crafted IO, the turnaround is so poor as to make it less than worthwhile.

Archery/EM. EM because of boost range. Archery because it's better than AR due to RoA and aim.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah the old Archery versus AR debate. I have a AR at 50, and my archery is just 45. Im finding that the two are very close in fun factor, and the main difference between the two is team strategy.

If you team isn't on the same page as you, RoA is a pain. Maybe the tank pulls stuff to A, then after you trigger it moves to B and the mobs follow. Full Auto is better in that case line up the cone to a small degree, then fire.

Archery is great solo or a small team, but RoA is just so slow from start to damage occuring on a steam-rollering team that you have to basically be operating ahead of the team to use it effectively.

    Love em both, though.
  5. I concur that it should be OK. The 2nd Energy def portion in Thunderstrikes is a side-effect of the ranged defence, and the later pairing of typed/positional.

That said, when you get the build together it would be nice to have confirmation through the real numbers box.
  6. and BI chief amongst them, but the downside is no matter how many time you drill a simple sentence into text, it never gets through.
  7. The REAL question people are over looking is:

    Beer or Captain Jack ?

Sad thing is I think the OP made the comment and stealth edit deliberately. I'm guessing he wanted someone to petition him, and then did the stealth edit hoping it would look like he was being picked on. He just didn't count on being thwarted by getting quoted.

You have to remember Forbin, no one here is his intellectual equal...

We can all be grateful for that...

OK I admit I LOL'ed so hard I had a coughing fit at that...

Thats twice in one thread, this thread does indeed deliver.
  9. Do you want me to demonstrate that 2-3 week timeline ?

I offer up Sinmara who is currently 23, and has the 1st # of crafts badge only.

At 23 she doesn't have much of an inf pot and there would be no twinking on my part.
  10. To craft and sell, you are limited by the maximum number of slots (21) and rate of turnover.

During peak times, its not unreasonable to sell out those 21 slots in a hour, which is why I hop over alt for a while whilst the selling actually occurs. Selling 9000 IOs from Master Craftsmen means each of the those market slots has to be cycled on average 450 times.

If I were to actually remain on the character, and run to the market at the end of a mission once say 10 sales had occurred, I can tell you I would be making even more sales than I did. Last double XP weekend for example I made crafted and sold about 500 IOs Fridays evening through to Sunday. (I dont have the exact figure, sorry).
If you actively monitor your inventory you cycle through it faster than if you do so passively.

Logging on Monday through Thursday as I did, which was just before I left for work, when I got home, and then before I go to bed, is not farming or actually aberrant behaviour, but is simply making sure that the slots are filled with salable items, as to make craft and sell, the sell is the slow part.

Friday went so late due to the FF5 event running late and those last batches was posted before and after the Shipraid.

If you want to burn through crafts just for the sake of it, then craft and delete is easy.
    Clockwork winder 1000-5000inf
    Computer virus 10-1000 inf
Level 10 recharge IO 1600 from memory

Lets round up and call it 8000 inf.
I was making no less than 50 000 inf per slot when selling, so heck I could have bought crafted and deleted 6 or more level 10 IOs for each sale and still come out ahead.

It would be pushing it for a week due to the risk of depleting salvage, but its actually not going to be hard (tedious for sure, but not hard) to get fabricator in 2-3 weeks by investing the 'profit' from sales into crafting and deleting level 10s, or empowerments or some combination.

    <edit>
This last is what i would consider 'farming' for Fabricator
  11. So logging in multiple times to progress on a badge = bad.

    But afk farming = OK.

    Double standards much ?
  12. Guide:

Use Vidiotmaps printouts and hit every single explore badge whilst in SGmode.

    It really is that simple.
  13. For a MM I'm a fan of Blood Mandate and stack the AOE/ranged def.

My trollers so far have tended to follow suit, but dont get the same advantage of stacked defence buffs.
  14. OK after a week getting data on how many common IOs it was feasible to sell ( I got 463 but could easily have broken 500 just with a minor tweak), for the Fabricator discussion thread in the badges section, I'm back to this project full time.

btw anyone who has good data from a double XP weekend in terms of numbers of sales, feel free to drop by in this thread and throw that data in there.

sure it only happens twice a year, but its pretty big progress on Fabricator if you choose to make it so.

Psst. They upgraded the servers in like 2006-2007 and the new "1 blip" indicates a lot higher load than the old "1 blip."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Could you cite your source?

    [/ QUOTE ]

My exact source for the exact information? Like.. 1 2009 blip=2.6 2006 blips exactly or something? Not that quickly.

Will the announcement about the extended server downtime for upgrades and the initial announcement that they were re-investing in the game and it's servers do for now?

Hmm, funny.. over 15 months ago.. not quite 18 months, but still.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They upgraded the servers in preparation for the CoV launch, then again with that one you cited.

463 total craftings in 30 logins, One of which (the *) was about 15 mins as the IO I was selling was going through my inventory as i was placing. Most of the otehrs

At the start of the week I was pretty much crafting whatever had dropped in my salvage, and buying a few random rolls with tickets to round out that inventory. At the end of the week I was working one specific niche which made the inventory much easier to manage.

Had I not been out of the house Saturday evening, I am sure I would have broken 500.

463/week puts moving to fabricator from having field crafter at 19.5 weeks.

Then you can add base empowerment and the like ontop of this.

  18. Outside of the nuke crash

    Lets take a fireblaster

    Fireball 15.184
    Firebreath 15.184
    Rain of Fire 26

56.37 end used in 3 AOE attacks over the course of 6 seconds

Recovery in 6 seconds without stamina = 10
Recovery in 6 seconds with stamina (3 slotted) = 14.9

Or slot 2 end reductions in each and only expend 33.8 end.

Of course the combination of endrec and stamina is better in the heavy AOE case

Well, but wait a minute. The argument I see all the time [not necessarily from you, just sayin'] is that "no one needs Stamina and only lazy/greedy people pick it up."

Maybe that's your problem here. That isn't the argument people are making.

You can make a highly functional build without stamina.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, let's take this ball and run with it. What build is "highly functional" without Stamina? On what AT? And don't say regen; tell us something new. After all, the canon argument is that no one needs Stamina; one of the real thigh-slappers I remember was that people who picked up Fitness are "greedy."

And even if you can think up a build, how does that address all the others that cannot move three steps in any direction without it? Rhetorical question only, there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From the characters of mine, lets say mid 20s and up

    No Stamina on:
    Emp/elec (at 50)
Mind/Ice dom (though she is getting it later)
    Ice/FF troller
Peacebringer (Mainly stays in Squid form so stamina is of very limited use)
Mercs/Traps MM (No travel power either)
TA/Archery Defender (may grab it if I have spare power picks)
Archery/NRG blaster (stamina on one build, not on his second)

Of those the emp, the dom and the blaster have click powers that affect the blue bar refill or use.
  24. My agenda is to disagree with Dispari on this one even if Im just making a Devil's advocate non-cannon post.
  25. Tea,

the 'bronze table' would be about 470 recipes long, which is probably beyond the scope of usefulness.

It is a lot of work, and I for one have had other demands on my time, in RL and when I do have some 'game project' time.
