  1. My thoughts on badges generally, are that there should be some easy to get, lots that take a little bit of thought/planning, and a few that are hard.

Where the badge system went wrong was Issue 5. The addition of the 'Epic' Heal, damage taken, inf earnt mez and sidkick badges, set a bad precedent for creating grindy badges.

Funnily enough that same issue with the defeat 333 badges fro the Croatoa groups, well if you run the arcs on a medium sized team plus the Katie TF, you get there. Maybe just shy on the ghosts.

That issue also lauched with defeat Sally 10 times for believer.

I'm taking Synapse at his word that from this point on grindy badges are not going to be added, and the main thrust will be on a variety of badges for tasks, rather than several tiers of rewards for the same task

    My suggestion:
Master of X Task/Strike force, for each and every T/SF, but mix up the challanges required in each case, os they are not all no temps/no defeats.
  2. The nearest I can think of something like this is EVE, where there are player reps elected who meet with the devs directly a couple of times a year.

They provide input on direction etc.

Reveiwing GM decisions is IMHO beyond the scope of what player input should be, and there are very few folks on this forum that I would trust with the confidential data that would be necessary for this to function.
  3. As always, its a collaborative effort. Agge notably came in a fixed a couple of errors before they got compounded throughout the whole table.

In addition the table format buidls on the earlier Pool C and D tables which mutated into the Random Recipe Roll table.

So the thanks are appreciated, and whilst I was point-man on this one, it is and always will be a team effort on the wiki, so I'll add my own thanks to the others.
  4. Point to note. The Game Card is actually different from a time card.

With the Game Card you can create a new account or upgrade a trial. Its just like buying a boxed version, but without the disc.
  5. 1) No. Whilst there is a significant RISK of inflation, right now we dont appear to have significant inflation. The problem is determining a decent baseline, because pretty much every 'event' cuases a blip which lasts for a month or more.

One exception: Purples seem to be trending up, even with the MA changes pushing folks back towards PI/GV farms. I tend to not worry unduly about the inflation at the very best of the best, as its ragged edge stuff. As soon as something 'better' comes along there is a massive crash.
PvP sets have still in my opinion yet to find equilibrium.

    2) Inflation is a major issue when it occurs in an MMO, in that it creates a barrier to entry for new players. One way gear based MMos get round this is through the gear cascade, where the newest uberest lewt, crashes lower 'good' gear prices.

3 ab and c I could get behind any of these (or all even) if the Devs determined that the inf available was rising significantly.
3d would be cool, but I dont see NCsoft going for it.

Another idea used in gear games is 'repair' costs, which doesn't fit here. Can you imagine having to spend 10% of your IO crafting costs every month to prevent the chnace of them 'failing'. I would hate this.

Well, I've had another experience tonight that may illustrate why I have a problem with this.

I made a mission on the MA (it's the first of what will be an arc). This mission pits the character against Mooks. They're a group that falls below L20. The mission objective is to defeat a boss. All aspects of the mission are set to minimum difficulty. The character is playing on Heroic.

It took my Defender (FF/EB) 3 and a half hours to do this mission. It took my Scrapper (Claws/Regen) 15 minutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Arc ID ?

I'll take a defender through it, and I doubt it would be more than 30 mins.
  7. Claws and Air superiority do work well together, especially pre-focus.

Been in my power tray sicne ym first ever respec, which would be maybe 50 months ago.

I dont use it so much at the higher levels, but I do exemp a lot with Cat and it makes for a great survivability boost on things like the Posi and Synapse TFs
  8. Limitation of the animation engine, that BaBs has mused at great length upon in the past.
  9. The set bonuses exemp all the way down.

The actual enhancement % (for acc/dam etc) scale like any other enhancement (even purples).

This does mean there is little reason to look for anything but 50s for a high level character in the PvP sets.
  10. If you are going to use a percentage at least use an accurate one, 99% of the badges are not going away.

24 will remain, out of 118, which is about 20% are remaining

    ITF fail

One of the nictii has an autohit power.

No amount of defence works versus that
  13. There are a few people who so desperately want to avoid a 'loss' in zone PvP, that they have a 2nd game client logged in a password entered, so all they have to do is hit the enter key in that window to force the 1st client offline.

I'll reserve my opinion of such tactics for another thread.
  14. Of course Im currently paying $143.40 for 14 months, thanks to the special offer around the turn of the year.

    Thats $10.24/month.

Annual billling works out to $11.95/month.

    Tea,

the 'bronze table' would be about 470 recipes long, which is probably beyond the scope of usefulness.

It is a lot of work, and I for one have had other demands on my time, in RL and when I do have some 'game project' time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Having said that, the bronze table is about half done now, using color to illustrate uncommon/rare, I'm actually zipping through it much faster than I feared. Helps to cut paste and tweak, and as the sets get longer at the higher levels, the cut/paste gets more efficient.

the purpose was to create an image of inf raining down from the clouds, but your grammer nazi concerns are noted.

inf falling from the clouds ?

I guess Smurphys swimming pool is overflowing again..
  17. The counter point to that is common recipes are available to anyone and everyone at the worktable, and the use of 'full price' recipes rather than ones picked up for cheap actually burns through inf.

The resale to a vendor is approximately 25% of the 'buy from table' price.(25% but some rounding occurs)

For each table recipe used due to arbitrage, 75% of the buy price in inf has been removed from the game world. 100% bought - 25% to the arbitrageur.

Aribtrage, just like flipping is a personal route to inf, but actually a global inf sink.

    My real #9

Iltat will be at an event hosted on the Champion server and literally giving away billions of influence
  19. That would likely be the result of thread prunage.
  20. If you are optomising purely on earnings, average inf per slot-day is the metric, based upon your own login patterns

If you find a ncih which can make 12 million once per week or one that can make 3 million twice per day.

Someone who basically only plays at the weekend, the 1st option is right
Someone who manages inventory morning and evening will make more from the 2nd.
  21. Catwhoorg

    Damn Market!!

    wait for the weekend.

    though:

Also, I put some Pounding Slugfests up there as well, crafted and no ones buying! Also posted for the going rate. (so go buy them!)

    [/ QUOTE ]

this may be part of your issue. If an IO is seeling for say 2 million, do not put it up for 2 million, or 1 999 999, as the savvy marketeers are listing theirs for significantly less.
  22. I just grab a common IO memorisation badge as soon as is practical, and go from there. A million here a million there, and pretty soon you are talking real inf.
  23. Mu's 'Footsteps Initiative' has been in HoF, but is not currently due to some people voting down anyone who gets there.

If you have not run it before, give it a go and vote for it according to your normal voting patterns, and maybe it will be again.

Personally I rated it high, and it raised a good few laughs on my first play through, your miliage may vary.
  24. Being as the login window for days jobs is 21 days. I normally log into each character at leats that often.

    Thats about 3/day on average.
