IOs are just as much a game feature as insiprations. there is no greater 'worthiness' for using a billion inf tricked out build than for using a few lucks to cover a hole.

your 'resorting to insps', is the sort of IO set only snobbery I dislike in the scrapper forum.

Soft capping a SR via IOs = supposedly worthwhile
Soft capping a SR with a single luck = beneath some folks.

I just made my newest field crafter, from start to finish she is up about 100 million inf
Though only about half of that from commons, I did run a few uncommons at the end in a niche at ~7 million a pop.

For me, the baseline has always been a single player character, anything goes. (Even thats bendable like having to dual box the Hess Simul-clickie, quad boxing Quaterfield clickes after clearing the maps solo is on my own challange to-do list)

Of course that baseline was originated in the I6 and I7 era. Heck, if throwing max level 25 EB as Shivans were then, would help by drawing an alpha, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I personally view no insps as overly restrictive, and basically focuses only on a few characters and builds. Since IOs I view temps as generally unneccesary, but have no cry of foul when using them.
The other position is no IOs, but insps are OK, which is pretty much where I was back in the I8 era.

Who here has seen the video of Hobo Healer's emp and Infernal ? Between the nukes, the buffed Shivan and Amy, he only got a few shots into the fight. Excessive temp powers makes it very easy, but again, that is the way into this thing we do. Make it easy at first then gradually ramp up your own personal challange.

So whenever anyone manages the task, using whatever means, say well done, and then ask whats their next challange going to be. Keep driving folks forward as a group, then and only then will we reach maximum potential.

I used it on two occasions;

1) to lock a character at 33 for a while, and accumulate enough Pool D drops at that level for ghis planned build
2) to stop a green conning outleveled arc from becoming a grey conning outlevelled arc, by avoiding a level up until it was finished.

#1 was for a period of several weeks
#2 was for not even a full play session

Def and Res have the same actual basis (1.25%)

This was created before the typed/positional defence adjustment a couple of issues ago, and several bonuses from the PvP sets just dont' fit into this scheme.

at 10-12 Id definitely suggest a /regen scrapper

MA DM Claws and fire would all be decent at that level.

I choose route #2 of the above.

About the start of every month I spend 10 mins or so pruning my gignore list.

That is time I'd much rather spend playing the game, so a spammer only gignore list is high on my personal QOL list.

There is nothing posted here or on the wiki about a weighting of the purple pools, so Im inlcied to believe ther is not a significant wieghting.

For PvE it will cover about 95% of knockback you come across, Cabal witches, Fake Nems are a couple of mob types that will still be able to knock you back.

Stacking with a second karma or a steadfast will up that to about 99%.

For squishies I tend to run with a single -KB IO, for a scrapper I like having the 2nd.

Charged based powers/rewards however, such as the tailor tokens require a consecutive 24 hour period to earn one.

Wait until the last login shows 1 day.

Dark gets their Teir 9 at 16, unlike regen who have to wait until 28...

The best way of getting the drops is defeating lots of mobs of level 48 and higher. If you schedule is erratic then maybe marketeering so you are progressing whilst offline would be better.

There is no single 'best way' due to the wide variety of hours and schedules people play.
