I wonder if they did something when the Tags and Rep were removed. They could have left some Javascript in which may have been taxing your browser or something.
Weirdly since I updated to Opera 10.60 I can't click into the Message pane to type messages. I have to click into the Title and Tab into the Message pane. Dunno why, although I do know the Message pane is a heavily script-backed object. -

Great espisode. Few little niggles over certain things but the two leads are excellently cast and it was highly enjoyable
It's Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffats Sherlock though, both created and write for it. (I always like to give Mark Gatiss credit where-ever possible, even if he did create the iDaleks). -
I'm in the "make it less dull" camp. At this stage a total revamp of it is needed really.
I do remember the days of it being a total death-fest and my Illusion/Storm controller having to nervously run and TP between +4 Skyraider spawns before Recalling everyone into the last room, and that was no fun either.
So a total revamp please, into something a bit more exciting. -
Quote:Sure there is, Electrical Mastery APP.Trick Arrow/Psi Blast comes to mind - no way to light the oil slick if you chose the wrong origins.
Quote:Frankly, the main combinations to avoid are attack sets with weapons, paired with other sets that are active during combat. TA/FF is fine, since you don't activate FF powers too much during combat, but TA/Kinetics or TA/Dark would probably be a pain. -
One combo I found lacking was a Stone/Fire Brute. The End costs were horrific (even with slotting, Stamina and Consume they were rough) and the whole character felt too clunky and unwieldly to ever work properly.
Mind you depending on what sort of buffs Fiery Aura might get in i18 it may become worthwhile. -
Quote:You know, now that I think about it, Arachnos Soldier could be the best partner to the MM, with their unique versions of Manuvers, Assault, and Tactics, combined with the default versions
^ This I think.
A Crab or a Fort for all the lovely ranged AOE. Why not a Bane or Night Widow? Because trying to be in melee when all those demons are clambering around I've found to be a nightmare. -
Quote:After some serious thoughts..
Necro/TA could the WORST combo in this game!!! Am I wrong?
TA excels in immb/slow/knockdows from Oil Slick Arrow but which necro pet can light OSA?? You have to rely on your inherent attack with energy damage? But what if you pick Natural and only have throw knife? You'll need to get a Patron attack that can light Oil?
It's hard enough to keep those zombies alive but they perform poorly if they don't go in. I can see Robot/TA and Merc/TA with better synergy.
I can't think of one great synergy between Necro/TA.
Stacked holds, a self-heal from Necro, self-healing pets, stacked -res and 2 places to put Achilles Heel procs (in Knights sword attacks and Acid Arrow). Glue Arrow slowing runner and thus preventing the "Zombies run after runners and aggro the rest of the room" syndrome.*Even Poison Gas Arrow might work Ok solo since Necro has so few AOE attacks.
It's not a shining combo of excellent synergies but it'd be fairly effective. 2 Grave Knights in melee + Acid Arrow = Dead Boss, or Lich + Ice Arrow focused on a boss = Mezzed Boss.*
The inability to light your own Slicks is a common flaw for a lot of TA chars. Just do what my Grav/TA did and go Tech or Magic. Mu will also light it.*
I'd take Necro/TA ahead of Idiot-Bots to be honest. That erratic knock back out of my patches would drive me mental (as does the noise they make). And Mercs control is so sporadic I'd take the Lich ahead of them personally. -
Some piccies
I've discovered the one crucial difference between little girls and little boys at nappy changing times. Little boys can aim... -
Hi folks, as of last Friday I have another tiny sidekick. Babyfax #2, Max, is doing great and #1, aka the not-so-tiny dictator loves her new little brother.
He's a pretty chilled out little guy, even being pretty nice to us at night time. Or maybe its the fact we aren't living in a constant state of low grade terror that we get it wrong somehow this time around. -

Quote:So this is not exactly a CoH issue, but more of website thing.
I've been playing around with the desktop widgets on Windows 7, and I found one that lets me import RSS feeds.
So I poked around for some RSS feeds to follow, and remembered that the CoH servers had an "uptime" feed.
Except not really. It's not a valid RSS file, at least not according to a couple validators.
There's a News feed, but it doesn't include any server uptime information.
Anyone have a way to get this feed to work properly in a XML reader?
You're right, it isn't a RSS feed at all. It's an XML document, that's all, one following their own layout.
Unless you took a few steps to convert it into an RSS feed somehow it's not going to be importable by any RSS Reader I'm afraid, other than the fact both are in XML they aren't remotely in the same format. -

1-20 is just the start of Praetoria 2.0 - there'll be more in coming Issues.
Remember when we finally got the Coming Storm resolved? That was well worth the wait, wasn't it? -
Quote:It's the usual "You're outside the US so prepare to pay" that most large media companies use.I'm a little confused; I haven't used iTunes before (Amazon won't let me buy from outside the US), and there's a price discrepancy between what I see on the iTunes page and what I see in the iTunes store. For some reason, the tracks change from 99 cents to 1.69, pushing the cost of the album from 9.99 to 16.99. I checked to make sure, and based on currency conversion, I should only be paying about 11 dollars Australian. So where's this change to the cost per track?
S.
Obviously it's due to the shipping / transport costs of pushing all those 1s and 0s through the extra-long tube to your country. -
Quote:But as others have posted it seems the reason the whole system has been pulled for a rethink is precisely because there isn't anything to do with the Incarnate system, i.e. that there isn't much 50+ content coming in the GR release.AHHhhhhhh! I find myself agreeing with mousedroid! Very uncharacteristic of me. Seriously though, very good post. I don't completely agree with you, but it is well reasoned and written. Posi Rep for you sir!
Personally, I think people are forgetting that in order for the whole Incarnate System to work at all, there has to be a LOT more 50+ content. Maybe I am being over-optimistic, but they do go hand in hand here.
Mousedroid makes a good point in terms of the side-shifting content but it's totally unknown so far as to how many different "change of alignment" type missions there will be embedded with the Tips system and how many different ones per level range / side. -
No, thanks to how the qualifying system works (it's geographically based) the top 32 countries can be pretty much be guaranteed to never be in a World Cup together.

Quote:* Because France and Italy dropped. You did less worse than they did so get a promotion because of it. Lots of businesses use the same model. Call it a Failmotion........how the hell????
England move UP the world rankings!
How on earth did that happen???? How does this stupid system even work after that terrible England performance??
Funny to see how far France and Italy dropped though!
And fair to see Spain at the top, Euro and World Cup winners, can't really argue with that. -
Quote:Sorry y'all but, I am quoting myself in order to reply to a Negative Reputation Point I received. Pretty sure that point came from the person who posted after me, but in any case they didn't have the courage to leave their name so I'll never know. Original post is on page #6 if anyone wants to see it in context.
WELL in advance isn't a month before it goes live.
Actually, over a month in advance of going live is pretty darn good. Would you have rather they waited until the week before release or even on the date of release? Maybe you would have preffered it was never announced until after people had been grinding away for it and could never get it? Kinda like the e-mail fiasco.
Wait. I was the person who posted after you!!*
Twasn't me. I don't do neg repping. I just reply with whatever I want to say and would have stated it in my reply.
Plus I can use Shift properly thank you very much. -
Personally it looks more like a "Get set bonuses above all other considerations" build which sacrifices a lot of Enhancement values in other to get those bonuses.
For example Acid Mortar at 35? And then slotted with Posi Blasts? For what AM does that makes no sense to me personally.*
Similiarly if you're going to take Defensive powers at least slot out the defense on them. FFG and Scorp Shield only have around 30% def enhancements in them in your build.*
To me slotting like that just to chase set bonuses is expensively gimping yourself for little reason. Maybe it's a PvP thing, I dunno. -
My Claws/Elec is the most fun Brute all-rounder I've played. Few defensive holes, great AOE and decent single target damage. Haven't noticed myself being too squishy at all. Plus it looks great.
Part of it might be that I had been struggling with a Stone/Fire Brute before that and they were a complete slog and horrendous for End Consumption. My Claws/Elec is far more fluid feeling and a lot more fun to play.
You're a blender rather than a powerhouse (if I want to feel unkillable I play my Dark/WP, if I want to feel like a dervish I play my Claws/Elec). A few things make a big difference though. 1) Use the Knockdown/Back powers in Claws. They make a big difference to your survivability. 2) Gather things at corners and Spinning them to death is a great tactic (follow up with Eviscerate if you take it) 3) Binds for combining Insps to Purples and Greens can save your life.
With Elec you probably want to take everything, but you can plan to forego Stamina post level 36 if you like (I have and it's fine). -
Quote:Apparently some select Holland players are blaming the ref for their loss. He gave them more chances than any team could of possibly deserved. Oh well let sore losers cry, the toys can remain on the floor. It's one thing to be thuggish on the pitch which is disgraceful but to lose disgracefully as well that's just being an embarassment.
Edit: If anything Spain had looked the more epic team from overcoming the refs leniency which was bad for them, all the fouls and still winning.
And still playing their passing game rather than devolving into the sort of brawl the Dutch wanted. Fair play to them (and boo to Holland).
The cynical part of my brain thinks that Holland knew they'd get away with it more because the ref would be under increased pressure not to send anyone off. So they could get away with the most blatant of fouls.* -

Quote:I agree. Tornado is possibly better, with the cavet that you'll have to be looking after what it's doing and spamming your AOE Immob to make it behave and stop things being flung about the place.*Ack, missed the plant post.
Answer to your last question: both.
Flycrap is underwhelming overall but you can just summon it and leave it do it's own thing without worrying about it really. -
Quote:Personally I'm a bit amazed that people are saying "bravo" for implementing and then pulling a system which seems to be broken / underwhelming. I wish my customers would shower praise on me when I do something poorly and then tell them they can't have it yet because of my design flaws.I have to admit to being a little amazed here. All the people crying Doom and yet not wanting a lame duck at the same time. Personally I am glad that they are going to hold this up. I would much rather see them "fix" the Incarnates abilities than release something broken to begin with. Didn't we just see that happen in Issue 17?
I remember a long time ago getting the "Cathedral of Pain" addition to the game and that lasted about a week or two before they yanked it off. Why? It wasn't ready. We had a right to be mad about something being released before it was ready, we would be stupid to be mad at them for holding the release of this until it is properly polished.
Bravo to the staff of Paragon Studios for making this well thought out decision and letting us know WELL in advance. My hats are off to all of you. I at least appreciate the information and I think many more will when they take the time to really think this through. -
Quote:Nope. Not unless you like wasting money.yeah, i know
how effective is the perform shifters procs??
Would it be worth slottting one in Lightning storm and Consume for a total of 3?
The one in LS will have a chance of giving your lightning-struck enemies back some End and the one in Consume is probably useless considering hitting 3 enemies with it should refill the blue bar anyway without it.
