Indeed, damn too-cool-for-school-Yuropeen-alternate me.
I hate that guy with his two 50s, Super-sekret-beta-invite and those Vet rewards, lording it over me. He even has the proper, non-suffixed version of my handle on these boards.
I hate you Yuropeen Carnifax. From hells heart I stab at thee. -
Quote:I figured that's where everyone was hiding out.Oh, yeah, and then there was that. At one point I thought the game really was in trouble because the forums were DEAD. Then I got invited to Beta, and I realised that everyone was there
Damn cool kids and their super-secret-hidden-clique-boards -
Aaaw, I though AM was back at first.
Curse you foul Necroposter -
Quote:Fire or Energy I think. NRG has a little more direct synergy with Power Boost boosting most of your controls.I absolutely adore Mind Control for a solo domi. Back in the day I had a Mind/Psi and it was great fun but at some point from 35 on I crossed some invisible barrier with her and suddenly my +3 level missions became an exercise in slowly chipping away at bosses and lieutenants, very irritating. So I deleted her.
For GR I want to make another Mind domi but this time I want to take a blast set with better single target damage so that I do not feel like I am chipping away at health bars all night long.
The domi is my soloer or small group player (with a few friends) so I will be using sleep and confuse a lot, so AE damage is out of the question.
What blast set offers the best single target damage attack chain that I can carry through to 50?
I will also be playing her blueside, if that helps.
Fire has Fiery Embrace which is stupidly good.
Oh, and there's nothing wrong with combining Confuse powers and AOE powers really. In fact it ensures you "tag" enemies with more damage and thus earn more XP from them. -
Quote:What is odd is that Castle mentioned a few weeks back that it was being looked at by one of his underlings. However that was supposedly just the animation times, so they might have decided to do something more drastic which required more time and effort and thus won't happen until sometime after.I mean, I am very disappointed in it not changing or looked at in i18/GR release.
C'mon, it's obvious the absolute need of improving...something, the set is absolutely subpar either looking at doms or trollers alternative powersets.
I found Gravity fine on a Controller, if paired with a Controllery secondary. I'd agree it's not very good for a Domi though since it's sole advantage : Single Target Damage, is wasted.
Quote:Maybe some -kb in the aoe immob...
Personally I'd change Dimension Shift to a short duration Intang followed by a knockdown and stun, increase the AOE of Wormhole and do something with propel, make it a very narrow cone maybe. -

Quote:Even if the proc fired, isn't the expect behavior that the Static Field pseudo pet would placate the mob vice the summoner placating the mob? or is it expected that it will function similar to the proc when slotted in Poison Gas Arrow (which I believe also summons some type of pseudo pet) or other AoE sleeps?
PGA doesn't summon a Pseudo, weirdly. Or rather it does but that's not where the Sleep comes from, it's actually a direct-target effect.
As far as I remember PGA used to work quite similiarly to Static Field but got changed in Trick Arrows beta for some reason. -

My namesake is a magical Illusion/Storm with Teleport. It's hellafun. The Chaos Controller.
TP and Hurricane go together very nicely indeed.
Freezing Rain helps your Phantom Army out greatly (since they can't be buffed at all, but the enemies they are focused on can be debuffed). -

Quote:Oh please. Supergirl and drunken Peter O'Toole managed it in about 15 minutes (well drunken Peter O'Toole didn't but he came darn close for someone that wasted). Here's a scenario: the next of kin of many of Joker's victims if not all of them decide to pool their finances to hire someone like Deadshot or Deathstroke for the sole purpose of killing the Joker.
Now neither Deadshot or Deathstroke strike me as idiots so they should realize that would mean hunting the Joker in Gotham City which will inevitably bring in the Batman. Would Batman attempt to stop them? Or would Batman decide that it's these guys that are doing the killing, not me and it IS the Joker after all.
I'm confident that Batman would stop them. OR the fight might occur with Joker nearby watching, bound and gagged but enjoying how Batman is so conflicted and then the assassin gets a lucky shot off that Batman dodges but it kills the Joker. How guilty would Batman feel about that? Can't say he didn't try to stop them, but he may have doubts about whether he allowed that kill shot to happen.
Here's another scenario: Joker has finally pushed Batman too far, and Batman decides that it's time the Joker was dealt with for good. BUT after he brutally pummels the Joker near to death he then pulls out a device that he obtained and zaps the Joker and the Joker appears to be disintegrated......everyone thinks Batman has finally crossed the line until he reveals that its Superman's Phantom Zone projector and that Joker is now forever in the Phantom Zone. Not dead, eternally banished and can do no harm. A prison that Joker is unlikely to ever escape. -
Quote:Wait, what? Really? Domination doesn't work with Chained Powers properly?Domination boosts the very first target of Synaptic Overload, but not the subsequent ones, so if you target the boss first with Domination up you'll be ok.
If you can get the boss to stay in the Static Field for a little while, it will put him to sleep. I had a lvl 53 Citadel AV sleeping like a baby. Hitting a boss with Jolting Chain is a good start to making it stay put in the field.
That said, draining bosses with Conductive Aura is really the way to go for handling them with Domination down.
Really? And it's going live like that?
Well that's not very good
I'd expect it as par for the course for the Sleep patch, but this really needs to be resolved for the Chained powers.
Edit : So do the Chained bolts have a chance to do Overpower for both Controllers and Domis? Traditionally Domis have gotten a direct copy of Controller powers based on Pseudo-powers so if the Controller version does I'd expect the Domi version does too. Maybe an easier fix would be to increase that chance for Overpower to take place (so the Mez can Crit for both Domis and Controllers). Say up it to 33% or something as oppose to the usual 20. -
Quote:Why? Do NCSoft head offices lack paper shredders for some reason?I'm not saying you should let it go without a fight.
I'm TELLING you this isn't the place.
There isn't anything you can do on the forums to get the attention of the people who MATTER.
The EU players can whine, hiss, cry, roast effigies of the Developers, and so on... but as long as it's here on the CoH forums, nobody in NCSoft Corporate is going to notice.
I am TELLING the EU players WHERE to vent their fustrations. I'm telling them WHERE to send letters that will actually get the attention of the people that MATTER.
trust me, NCSoft will sit up and take notice if they get a flood of hand written or typed out letters arriving in physical envelopes at their actual offices.
You want their attention? You want to change something.
Sending. Physical. Letters. To. Their. Offices. Is. The. Best. Way. To. Get. That. Attention. -
Quote:It depends. If the sleep is basically a pulsing aura based on an invisible Pseudopet then it will only try and proc every 10 seconds (think of something like Choking Cloud but with a sleep and emitting from the invisible pet in the middle of the patch). But if the invisible Pseudopet is actually firing off a PBAOE Sleep every 4 then it'll proc every 4.Well that does open up huge protential. With high recharge and global recharge, EC could throw them left right and centre at a fast pace.
Also given the fast pulse rate, I wonder what benefits it could get out of procs.
So it depends on how it works mechanically. I'm guessing its a "every 10 seconds because it's technically a pulsing aura" though. Of course with two or three of them out the PROCs will still mount up. -

On the plus side Domis can get Fireball and Rain of Fire to make FE even more awesome now via the new Fire APP.
Because Fire Assault Domis always have a load of attacks to benefit from FE it makes sense for them to keep the old version.
For other ATs, who might only be benefiting their Fire Aura and Burn, the new version makes a lot more sense than the old one did. -
Quote:I still have a few problems with this.
1) Brutes get penalized on damage using it as an alpha strike/spawn breaker when they have no Fury vs a Tanker.
2) Shield Charge uses the pseudopet damage cap, which is 400% - so once both a Brute and Tanker are at 400% the Tanker version is doing more damage (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this).
1) Yes. That's the downside of being a Brute, from cold you start with crap damage. Same as if my Stone Brute used Seismic Smash "from cold"
2) Yes, but does it really matter that much? It's an outlier situation and Lightning Rod falls into the same trap. At least Shield Charge is an armour set so it's somewhat less "wrong" than LR given that Tanks are meant to be Armour specialists.
Shields have always been slightly less awesome on Brutes than Tanks or Scrappers for various reasons. Some proliferated sets suit one AT over another. Tis the nature of the beast. -
Quote:Brutes Base Damage is slightly lower than Tankers, because Brutes rely on Fury to raise it up.I don't quite understand why Tanks are doing more damage than Brutes when Brutes are more Scrapper-like. I would have thought damage > least damge being Scrapper > Brute > Tank. *shrug* (I'm not a min-maxer really so I'm not that fussed just a tad puzzled.)
Have to agree with it not being fun teaming with a Shield Charger. Last time I did, I couldn't even get my blaster nuke off. SC'd every spawn. Nuke activation times too long.*
I'll still have fun with my little shield tank and brute I'm levelling though. -
Quote:Why are PPPs supposed to be better than APPs? Originally, when you couldn't switch it was thought that they were going to be better, but that didn't really pan out.PPPs are supposed to be weaker than APP... Is this must be still true in Going Rogue ?
PPPs shouldn't follow the APP pattern : a single blast, an aoe blast, an armor, and 2 utilities powers ?
Oh well...
Nowadays I'm fairly sure the two are supposed to be on roughly a par (in theory anyway, and allowing for The Devs Hate Villains of course). -
Personally (as a teammate of countless Demon MMs over the last few months) they've leapfrogged Bots as "Most annoying MM to be teamed with" thanks to their bulk (the MM can run through them but team-mates are blocked by them) and that wretched screeching they keep making.
I'm sure they're effective and all, but when a MM joins the team I rejoice if they're a Necro, Merc, Ninja or Thugs rather than a bunch of fat noisy things which constantly get in the way.
I do like the way I get shields, heals and that bosses occasionally get iced when I hit them with my single target hold thanks it stacking with the Princes hold.
I just wish they didn't get in the way so much (especially on tight maps) and didn't screech. -
I like Gold with a bluey-purple on my Brute :
