Elec/Ice would be interesting and give you more soft control via the -Recharge.

In fact having just read up on Icy Assault it could be an excellent combo. Damage doesn't seem shabby at all, which is what I was worried about and the two auras would seem to have great synergy.

And no DoT to interfere with the reapplication of the Sleep patches. I'm swaying towards that combo myself now.

Sleet and Ice Storm in the 40s combined with your AOE immob with no knockdown protection. That sounds well evil.

Excellent. You guys rock by the way. Cheers for everything you do for us hungry little data demons.

I'm in the same boat, I'm fairly sure Avatea is wrong in the PM in this instance, maybe she's not. Either way I don't particularly want to be chasing a Ticket for 2 days to get it resolved if she is.

Things like Boosters used to be region locked a few weeks ago anyway, if they changed how it works for Boosters and Expansions they never bothered posting / explaining about it AFAIK, hence everyones confusion and relucatance.

It's automatic as well which wasn't the brightest idea in the world. All it will do is encourage Star-a-phobia methinks. Any suggestion I'd seen (or made) for it was to make it optional for the Team Leader to switch on/off.

By the time I can grab the mouse, target the injured player, and heal them it is possibly too late. It's not as bad using single target heals with a mastermind. At least for the pets.

On a mastermind I can set up targeting binds that are easy to reach and remember for the henchmen. But what about for team members? I could do a similar bind setup, but the section I use for pet targeting only has 6 keys. My keyboard is a logitech G15 gamer keyboard. It has programmable macro keys. However those macro keys rarely get used due to being awkward to reach with my control setup. And there's only six of them. Yeah I can set up 3 sets of macros with it and switch between them. But that's adding another step to the process which would slow things down.

My biggest complaint with empaths I've teamed with tends to be the fact too many are 'pure healer' builds. Oft times skipping highly useful powers, or taking them but never using them. I've lost count of the empaths I've seen with the two RA auras, but never use them.
Just so long as you aren't confusing those of us who don't call for Aura Huddling with not firing it off.

My Plant/Emp fires them off whenever they're available, but I do so quietly mid-combat at the point which will get as many people covered as possible. I'm sure that some hangers-back tend to miss my buffs and probably consider me an awful Empath for not calling for huggies (I just threw up in my mouth a little just typing that).

You can also bind the number-pad keys to target a specific team member for quick healing / buffing.

For me the hardest aspect of being an Empath is remembering who I last hit with Fort. The rest is easy. Admittedly I consider having to fire off a heal means I'm failing as a Controller / buffer.

Were I you, I would bug each map I see them on.
I was seeing weird white arcs, like the edges of a large circle, on the ground last night.

I assume they are the boundry edges of some invisible entity on the map, maybe Sound emitters or something.

Like me last night? I did feel a little lonely but did a few Tips missions on my Plant/Emp just to get a feel for them (first impressions, alright but nothing special, a bit like slightly more involved & complex paper/radio missions).

Tis the price one pays for being cautious and waiting for the Complete Edition but I got my patching done anyway and I'm in work all day today anyway so no great loss.

Now hopefully the Powers That Be can get the US versions of the Complete Edition up onto the store for those of us on EU IP Addresses without me having to write another sneering, sarcastic post in the Technical Support forum.

Sure, originally she was supposed to be empowering a Hellion, but within 24 hours she was free, and a registered superhero. After 40 levels of good service, she'd like to think that a sumoner with good intentions would be just as acceptable as one of the summoned.

Ultimately, it's what you do that matters, not who you are. The biggest problem with demons in Paragon City is sorting out the visas in advance - there's no US embassy in Hell.
Yep, my name-sake is technically a demon as well (or maybe an Imp would be a better description). In terms of hierarchy she's almost as low as one can go and her sort are typically used as snacks by any bigger or badder demons who are feeling hungry or just malevolent.Tradionally she'd be a short-lived mouthful for one of them and relies on her illusion powers to survive there.

Happily whilest in the process of becoming a short-lived mouthful she got caught up in a CoT summoning spell aimed at the Beserker which was hunting her and got dragged into the Hollows with it, managed to escape and was rescued by a patrolling hero. Paragon City is a far nicer place to be than the infernal frozen abyss so she stayed.

Positron said that you could level from 1 to 50 in AE. No where did he say that you should be earning a greater reward in AE then you do in regular content. The argument is over and its dead. The devs messed up by releasing it in such an exploitable state. It may be a niche now, but it was always meant to be. AE wasn't designed to take over the game and put everyone in Atlas Park.
Actually from the amount of pushing Posi did over his baby (ew, that puts a nasty child-birth related image into my poor head) along with the time invested in it this is wrong, or at least hopelessly misguided on the devs part. You don't put a feature into every frakkin zone in the game and spend the bulk of two issues on a "niche".

I actually agree with mac on this one, the proof of the pudding in terms of how successful Going Rogue will be is how the population will be in a month or two, not on launch day.

Mind you I suspect the Devs know that and have a few Issues well underway to continue to fuel the fire and keep their churn down (at least I hope they do). NCSofts whole marketing approach of Going Rogue seems to be aimed at getting people back to the game from "other sources" rather than attracting totally new players into it (although that may not have been Paragon Studios initial intent).

    is false, they are sensative.

I can use paypal on both my US and my EU account, this might be due my paypal account being international verified and yours maybe a US only? (few years ago they changed to region-locked accounts, only by filling in a bunch of forms you could make it international again).

I am uncertain if they digital boxes of Going Rogue only can be purchased within a active account (you can directly upgrade), or you get a seperate serial key wich you can give to others. As i'm not going to buy Going Rogue for now, i have no way to test this.

Your escape would be someone buying GR for you (digital), and pass you the key to upgrade your account. Provided you get a serial key, and not the 'select your account to upgrade'.

Edit, and another FACEPALM for EU support:
Please select the City of Heroes® account you would like to apply this upgrade to.
City of Heroes® (Europe) / City of Villains® (Europe)

Seems in no way you can obtain a 'normal serial key' from they NCstore, only can upgrade your existing accounts fromout the NCSoft account you are logged in. Are there any other stores outside the NCstore that sells the Going Rogue?

Additionaly, i cant even select my US account for upgrade, funny.
I put a new post in the Technical area yesterday about this too in an effort to try and get some sort of feedback from either the aptly named Black Pebble or one of the Community Mods (Mod12 seemed to be rampaging around yesterday when I posted it but I got nothing).

Hopefully someone will take a whip to the lice-picking monkeys who do the web development and get them to actually resolve the issue.

Although I wouldn't hold my breath.

IP / Region locking is the work of the devil and whatever genius at NCSoft decided to implement it should have unpleasant things done to them with a blunt spoon.

Fiery Aura/Fiery Embrace - The Brute version of this power had a 30 second duration on the Fire Damage buff. This was inconsistent with the Tanker and Scrapper versions and has been reduced to 20 seconds. Note with the changes above, this only applies in PVP.
Sounds like someone only read half the patch notes/changelog history.

FE is vicious on Brutes now, whereas before it was alright but not great because Fury eclipsed it.

Before it added 100% base damage to any fire attacks you might have had for 30 seconds. Given that Brutes have low base damage it wasn't that great really and only really a must-pick for a Fire/Fire Brute.

Now it adds 45% enhanced Fire damage (in other words 45% of your final damage figure) to ANY attack for 20 seconds. So it plays well with Fury.*

Even the Fury changes actually suit my Stone/Fire Brute a tad better which is a bit mad since he always struggled to maintain Fury. The slower decay works better for him. I'm almost tempted to reopen my EU account just to see the changes on him. It would have a more negative effect on my Dark/WP and Claws/Elec though, but they are ridiculously awesome anyway.

  22. Can anyone explain why I'm getting Tip missions even if I haven't bought Going Rogue? I assume it's some sort of bug?
  23. For weeks now the genius reworking of the NCSoft Store means that it decides what versions of the various expansions you want.

So for someone like me, who is playing on the US Servers, it's impossible to purchase a US version of the game because you're basing what I can see on my IP.

I was hoping the cluster of trained monkeys you have as a web development team would have stopped picking lice out of each others fur long enough to address the issue, but I hoped in vain.

Can you please, please address this long standing issue so those of us who want to buy things off the store can do so?

So you're complaining about not getting a preload update because you don't use the updater.

    And it's all their fault?

    Really?
  25. Superb guides Lili, lots of info well explained.

As regards Conserve Power the only time I've found it really useful on my Controller was for use before EMP Arrow as a way to counter the -recovery. Other than that it's up so infrequently that it's hard to plan around it.

Prolonged fights where you're out of blues (and can't just scoot into cover for a sneaky rest) it's sorta useful, but Hibernate kicks its *** in that situation.
