Quote:If you play a Team Buffer (I don't think you do but anyway) there's one in my Sig for controlling which icons you see in the Team, pet and/or your own Buff window. What makes it useful though is that it has one option which right-clicking on them doesn't, the ability to hide Toggle powers. My Plant/Emp loves this set of menus / commands. Since most melee types can have 3-5 toggles running it helps cut down the clutter you see on those windows. I'd still kill for a way to hide Insps and hide any buff which didn't originate from you though.Yeah, that's a good point. Still, it seems considerably more complex than multiple binds, is what I mean. I saw the thread on the subject and the ideas weren't bad, per se, they just seemed like more complex ways to accomplish fairly simple tasks, just with fewer binds/macros. I get that I could take multiple powers out of my trays that way, but I actually like having those IN the actual trays so I can see when they're recharged.
That's not me trying to criticise. I like the idea, especially since I was messing with Java's Swing package recently for work. But I can't really come up with a way for me to use them directly.
Here's the Slash Command for setting Stacking to Numeric and hiding all Auto and Toggles in the Team window :
/optionset buffsettings 1250067
And for defaulting everything :
optionset buffsettings 0
obviously you can Bind and Macro it as well. -
M.E.R.P., mostly for the hilarious critical miss descriptions...

Quote:I guess I have no idea what you mean by Storm Summoning having a very high a power lvl. Please explain so I can understand where you are coming from. Also, I believe very much it is need of help, so yes in my opinion it does belong in this thread as much as any other powerset that others think need help. You may disagree....Quote:Storm is the big brother of Cold Domination. Storm is right up there with Dark and Rad, so yeah...
I wouldn't be against giving Tornado Knockup instead of knockdown. You can overcome that by jump-casting or hover-casting LS above the enemies, although changing that to knockdown too would be nice.
Giving LS Jolting Chain on a 10 second timer as extra soft AOE control would be nice too. -
Horrid Power Rebalances :
Fix Hasten so it was reasonable (ie ratchet it down from 70% to a 25% recharge buff).
Make Domination immune to all recharge buffs. Decrease it's current recharge to 75% of its current as "compensation"
Fix Rage so it couldn't stack at all, it'd work something like momentum. Triggering it a second time would do absolutely nothing. In fact give it a token system which meant it would be greyed out if already active. -
Burn is a bit of both from what I can tell. There's frontloaded damage which counts as a standard PBAOE and therefore uses the Casters damage cap and the DoT flame patch which is a pseudopet and does about 50% of the damage of the initial pbaoe over 10 seconds with the 400% cap.

Hurrah for Block Content, blocks both the background image and the top banner image for me (a banner which eats up 25% of the verticial space available is obnoxious).
When this new image appears it too will be fed to the Block Monster. -
Quote:There's no challenge even if you're level 29 in Talos on one. The sheer number of Incarnates and Lore Pets makes it a pretty pointless exercise. I just moved to Talos 2 and ran Radio missions instead.my limited experience with the new invasion is a very meh - there's no challenge once level shifted and it everything dies so quick it's just a few minutes of monotony.
I used to love the raids - but these really need some more work to even begin to be exciting.
This sums it up for me perfectly.
For a genius with intricate plans-within-plans why does this one sound like something Zapp Brannigan came up with? ("I'll send wave after wave to a pointless death so that eventually the heroes will get bored and give up"). One would hope the real Nemesis is off doing something cunning and sneaky while his men and bots do their pointless Zerg. -
Quote:Every 10 seconds you've a chance of giving your enemies back some Endurance. Because they're the ones affected by the End Mod.Hey guys, I've searched and cannot find an answer to this on the forums so I thought I'd just ask.
If I slotted the Performance Shifter: Chance for +End on my Brute's Lightning Field, how exactly does that work?

Quote:Corruptors wouldn't need this, but I always thought that as the Defender inherent a modified version of this would be really cool (Defenders getting some sort of minor, appropriate non-stackable buff when they use 3 or 4 of the core powers in their set). What would make defenders and corruptors really different (and probably make defenders overpowered) would be to to make their single target buffs also affect them.
an empathy getting their own fortitude would totally change the set
likewise a storm getting 02 Boost
FF getting their own bubbles -

I have played Defenders occasionally. I always ask myself "Why aren't I a Corrupter or Controller instead" and tend to roll one of them instead.

My current wish list (rejigged slightly)
Stick -Damage into Shiver and Flash Freeze : Probably 10-15 apiece.
At least halve the recharge of Flash Freeze and remove the delay and damage.
Add a Chance to Stun for a few seconds to Ice Patch a la Shadow Field and Distortion bubble (the Time one).
Allow Arctic Air to benefit from Domination. -
The stop KB point is also a good one. Normally past the first 5 seconds I don't want things knocked back out of the patches I've placed, or in the case of my GunCrab I don't want to Frag Grenade things away from the main melee, so firing off Web Grenade makes sense.

Quote:It sets up Containment (and also gains from it: Useful for Plant). Also for my Dark/Time it's got a 7.5% to hit debuff which stacks with Fearsome Stare. And I've a few procs in there.OMG, THIS!!
Why do trollers DO this? Really, what possess them to spam AoE immobs? There are half dozen very good reasons NOT to use this except in select situations, and yet on every team, there seems to be an immob-happy troller totally oblivious to the fact that this is not helping any team past level 12. Aarrgh!
Understand, I say this as one who loves to play Controllers most of all.
Oops, that hit a nerve. Sorry for temporary thread derailment. /endrant
If I'm on a team with an Ice or an Earth I move it though (unless I'm on my plant because Plant can't help it anyway, Creepers and Flytrap also have AOE immobs, plus Plants does decent damage). I have a few Ice Dominators so I understand what a pain in the **** it is to have someone Fire Cage your Patch. Most depressing is when it's an Earth Control person doing it : "You should know better! *sob*"
Ice Slick really should have something extra though. It trades the -ToHit Earthquake has for a bit more slippyness. Some useful debuffage would be good (I think -damage as no Controller primary has that and it's a nice counter to the -toHit in quake). That or a Chance to Stun or something (something like Shadow Field but with Stuns) -
Done.
Filling that 1-15 bit on an iPad was a bit painful. A smart form would indicate via colour changes on the headers which ones had been selected. -
Quote:Aye, but you can get the AOE power 3 levels after you get FluffyHowever, Illusion has no AoE damage powers, so it really can't take advantage of AoE containment until it gets an AoE damage power from the Epic power sets. AoE containment really isn't a big issue for an Illusion controller. It gets its "AoE damage" from its pets (who get no benefit of Containment).
Most controllers don't get meaningful AOE damage suitable for containing until the APPs anyway (Fire, maybe Plant and maybe Mind) and you do notice the lack of Containment damage in the 40s. PAs are great but they're a bit too random to be true AOE damage. -
Dark has one more advantage over Rad, an always-up source of more containment inducing powers via the Dark Servant. Fluffy will immobilize things for you giving you some extra AOE containment options.
It won't be a replacement for your own AOE immob at all, Fluffy isn't smart enough to do that, but it's something. -
Aye, Loki comes out with one of the most withering one-line insults I think I've ever heard and said with such malevolent relish.

Quote:This. Saw it last night and it's just an excellent action movie. There are some small Josh Wheldon-esque things in it but they're for the most part pretty funny.Saw the movie earlier. Don't really have much else to add that hasn't been said. Don't let your anti Joss Whedon feelings stop you from seeing this movie. It is awesomeness incarnate.
My favourite thing about the whole movie was Banner / Hulk. Mark Ruffalo is excellent and the character finally gets to be fun for a change (with some pretty dark one liners thrown in by Banner as well along the way). -
Quote:I'm kinda sure that Thorns is one set which doesn't actually suffer from redraw. It's more like a Fire Sword or Stone Mallet, the animation is baked into the power. Hence why the customisation is done on the powers screen for it.A weapon set on a dominator is generally a pretty bad idea in general as we can see with Thorns. To stay alive you must constantly switch between attacking and mezzing which means near constant weapon redraw. It only takes about a second to draw your weapon but for a dom that's repeated redraws through a fight. You can easily spend a good 5 to 10 seconds of each fight going through the weapon animation and that's unbearable to me.
I'd be all for Bows, and Thorns for that matter, but only after they get around to fixing weapon redraw.
Mind you a Bow set wouldn't have that advantage. The worst offender is going to be the single target hold though, so I wonder if they could just do weapon-carrying alternate animations for those and at least alleviate the issue? -
Quote:Avast or AVG, Hijack This and Spybot - Search and Destroy. Although apparently the Windows antivirus is quite good too so I've heard. All of em are free (free is good)Just annoyed about something - I've had a few CPU overheat crashes of late and was wondering what's been nicking my system resources.
As it turns out, McAfee RealTime Scanning - since last update - has been constantly chewing between 50% and 98% of my machine's CPU (and has changed user profile to hide how much it's binge-eating).
Luckily only a couple of months to run on my sub... and saving up for new lappy anyway. So what should I get next?
McAfee came on my PC too and I've had it with its renegade ways. Twice in the last two days it's decided to restart my machine to update itself, even though I told it not to, both times I was leading 8 man teams. -
Quote:I ran DFBs up to about level 15, by then I had a couple of AOEs so things were less boring and moved to Cap. After that a few teams got me to 20 and I ran -1x0 Rogue Tips to get me to Rogue quickly. Since then I've just been forming or joining 8 man teams in Talos and it's pretty good fun.I would love to actually play one, i've tried multiple times however i find the low levels to be so boring playing as one.
Yes i could just skip up to the 20s to really start off but im one of those players who love the low level game and if i cant get a sense of enjoyment out of it that early, then i aint going to wait until the mids for it. -
Could we please have the Bait-and-switch / I-demand-a-refund / this-is-an-outrage conversation somewhere else and have the mechanics one here as requested? Synapse is a developer, he's not going to give you refunds or discuss them
Make a thread focused on that and see if you can get Black Pebble to comment there. -
Smoldering Wings (or is it burnt wings?) on my Plant/Emp. Originally she had pretty standard wings but the Smoldering ones really worked better as membranous plant material. She was inspired by the fauna/flora in the Airsphere in Look to Windward so a ragged, organic look and the concept of spores coming off them really suit her.
On my Traps/Beam character the crossbow-like gun with the crystal on it really suited her the most and made her character. It had been delayed as well so it was really frustrating waiting for it
