  1. I did this during the week, my level 28 Ice/Thorns domi started a team in Talos doing +1 hero tips. There were 4 of us altogether in the end

1 dropped immediately after the second spawn of +2 Arachnos beat the crap out of us, the other dropped when we wiped when, having almost tackling the spawn ANOTHER spawn aggroed and we wiped. Me and the last guy tried once more and then agreed to disband and never speak of the incident again (ahem).

Yes. I managed to create my very own car crash team of fail

You're one of those people who finishes RPGs with 100 Potions of Heal Everything and your Staff of Hideous Agony still fully charged and unused in your inventory, aren't you Cry?

I spent my freebies on bits and bobs, but I'm in the same boat with regards to buying points, I've plenty of disposable income but I haven't seen anything I want to spend actual cash on.

I understand why some people think sonic (and bubbles, too) need an overhaul, but they are hardly useless, but on my team of 8, I seemed to be the only one who thought that.
An Eden Trial? Isn't that the trial where the monsters drop things which basically make any Defense Buffs useless? So the Time guys fancy-pants soft-cap would mean nothing?

    Your teammates were sillies.

Because they'd designed Long Range TP for Teleport already? They didn't need to add another power.

It's mechanically a teleport effect, since that's the only way you can do this sort of thing, but in-game it's intended to be a jump attack (in the same way Shield Charge is a Running-charge arrack)

I meant that the Teleport pool could use a real attack power like all the other travel pools have had since the start. The easiest way would be to add damage to Teleport Foe. Damage and possibly a disorient or immobilize effect.
You want to add potentially spawn-alerting, aggro-causing damage to what was intended to be a pulling maneuver?

  7. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed anything off about Defender spread values? Specifically Lancer Shot doesn't seem to spread half the time as the latest figures suggest.

Haven't done any scientific tests with it but I was hunting spawns in Talos using Lancer as a follow up to Disintergrate and it seemed a lot less than 50%

This, pretty much. Like the OP and nearly everyone else here I haven't seen any of this with the two alts I created on Exhalted, just fun PuGs. My Traps defender hasnt even been yelled at to heal or shouted at for te spectacular runs of faceplants i can pull off.

Mind you I automatically delete the hilariously misnamed "help" channel from my main tabs as it's a hive of scum and villainy on any server. Which is a bit of a shame since it's now the only channel available to Free to play people.

I am also one of those who had characters that were only on the Training Room. Since it has been down, I have recreated most of them on Exalted. Test Boy is the exception, since he belongs on the Training Room, and had been there since it opened.

    I guess we will see.

There's plenty of reason they'd might want to do that: To test copy rates across databases springs to mind given that they are apparently moving servers and stuff around over the last two weeks.
  10. That's a chronically bad system. I can't believe that's working as designed, unless the designer is a sadist with a grudge against players.

Oh and hard targets such as AVs? perma 1200% regen debuff and 30% resist debuff courtesy of drain psyche and sleet. Yea, doms are useful in the endgame imo.

Where are you getting 1200% from? Drain Psyche is -500% isn't it?

Giving your accounts IOs is a microtransaction.

In other words your logic is "I won't be buying any microtransactions on these accounts because I refuse to do a microtransaction to play the characters as I wish".

The game isn't F2P, it's more like those of those Pick and mixes where you decide how much sweets you want and then pay accordingly.

You don't get anything for free, but can you get a lot for a small price.

^This. It costs a fiver to unlock for ever more, which is an effective barrier against RMTer without being too extortionate for new players.

Sure you have to do it over two days, but you can do it with multiple characters in parallel.

The loss in recharge bonus is not a big deal as I can put decimation in blast for the same bonus, but am I losing some necessary control by dropping so many slots from Spooky?

Also, as this change in APP does take me away from S/L cap by a good amount, is there a number that may be too low in defense or is it just that unnecessary. I hate those moments where I get agrro for 2 seconds and insta splat.

Spectral Terror works pretty much out of the box. Even with just an Accuracy IO in there he's effective. He's possibly the best one slot wonder control power going.

Oh well, I gave up on Firefox ages ago anyway, I've used Opera for years and Chrome is my second browser. I do wonder why Mint hasn't offered to update Firefox though?

The only versions of IE I run are Virtual machine installs of IE6/7/8 for checking sites for corporate clients (sob)

FWIW this is on Firefox 6.0.2. Haven't tested any other browsers. And probably won't soon get around to it.

Is there a Firefox 6 now? I thought 4 was the latest? Is this a beta release or something?

Works for me in Opera, Chrome and FF3.6
  18. The LFG was one of those half-arsed features that Paragon Studios occasionally creates and then forgets about. I'd love to see it used more, for both TFs and for those Zonal Events like the Praetorian ones.

Mind you i'd also like to see it actually work for teams doing Radios or whatever and would like more members.
  19. Not going to comment much on the build as Set Builds aren't really my thing, but one thing to note : The more you slot Spectral Terrors Fear effect the longer things will run away from it (Spectral has two powers with different types of Fear "Stand and Quake", called Terrorized, and "Run away", called Afraid)

You don't want to boost the Afraid effect if possible.

Also note that ST has a 15% ToHit debuff per power, which will stack with Times one, so Softcap really isn't that necessary.

As I posted elsewhere I've had arguments in the comments sections of Eurogamer where people were expressing their outrage that Masterminds and Controllers weren't included for Premium Players.

Mind you I always felt that was the wrong move by Paragon Studios and would only serve to attract negative press (I still tried to explain that there are 8 other ATs available to Premium and Free players).

Weird, Union was on 2 dots last night. At 9pm it's always 3rd or 4th on the Server List (seems to be neck and neck with Exalted) in terms of load.

If there is to be any server merging (and I'd say it might be likely once the new set-up has been running a few months) it's more likely to be Defiant than Union anyway.

This forum is dead because it's not particularly relevant to a lot of what people are posting nowadays (I tend to frequent the AT forums)

I don't know how Union's doing these days, but I logged in briefly when my old EU account became free and I saw four people in Atlas... Four. Then I logged back into Virtue and, even though it wasn't peak time (GMT afternoon), I saw tens of people and the broadcast channel busy with people setting up sewer trials.

My advice (though I'm sure I'll get flamed for this by die-hard EUers) is to trash all your Union/Defiant toons, sell their enhancements and then global mail the influence to yourself and use it to start a new life on a busy server (Virtue is the closest in community to Union, imo).
I did this too, but I wouldn't be telling people to abandon Union and head for Virtue, especially nowadays when you can play on both anyway, what's the point of burning bridges? Create a few alts on each and decide when logging in where and who you want to play.

Trashing your characters and selling all your enhancements would be a silly move nowadays, if you really want to move a character just use your monthly Character Transfer slot, but I'd still say the absolute best thing to do is just make another alt and leave your current char where they are.
  23. The Help channel is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. I just remove it from my tabs.

All I noticed yesterday on Virtue was that Talos was nice and busy.

Does damage do anything or is the only way to get more damage to put in a proc?
Damage should be higher than that, the base damage at 50 is 2.78 each second (according to City of Data), you should be seeing 4s or 5s I'd have thought.

A proc on the other averages 1.4 DPS, so each proc is basically adding 50% extra damage to the power (actually it's kinda nicer than that because rather than a trickle of 1.4s you get the occasional 70 hitting an enemy).

The fact that you hit an enemy for 70 every now and then is probably better on teams than the damage from the power itself

You're probably right, in that whomever designed these sets decided to plump for "realism" in these powers and threw practicality out the window. Whomever designed Elec control thankfully saw sense and made design choices which made sense in term of power synergy.
