I don't think that's a good idea, since I prefer to have quality, even if it costs more, than constant half-baked additions like the CoT set.
More worringly this Feed the Beast attitude seems to also be impacting powerset bug fixes somewhat. Synapse has apparently said that most of them have to wait for 21.5 to make it to live.

  3. What's wrong with the Barbarian set? Seems fine (wonderful in fact) to me.

As for the CoT set : Meh, I'm past caring about that whole trainwreck.

In groups I disintegrate one and immediately setup a snipe to get a spread, then follow with the cone and single blasts. The added effect seems minimal vs. simply blasting away. i.e. disintegration is good vs. 1 target, but the spread mechanic is just a little gravy, not something to focus on.

    Am I wrong?
The Spread Damage is nothing to do with Disintegrations at all, it's basically like the enemy affected by the spread gets their own minor DoT (much more minor than Disintegrate) & disintegration effect.

The real bonus you're getting this that since more things have the disintegration effect on them your follow-up powers will now hit a bit harder (around 15% harder I think?). That 15% is, like Fiery Embraces extra damage effect, nice because it is affected by Damage buffs etc.

Unless you fed it to itself of course, in which case you're a monster and should probably be auditioning for the next Saw movie.

    Awful, awful, terrible, bad advice.

Telling people that jumping through numerous hoops in order to do something which the market interface should do in one set place (and then backing it up with things like "The devs made it easy to do" when they did anything but) is just terribad advice.

I mean did you not look at the 5 different proceedures you'd listed and think to yourself "You know, that's not that easy or convinient at all now I look at it"

If not then I sincerly hope you're not a designer of any sort.

The system should have a list or report telling you what exactly what you own/bought, as well as clear labels on each item as you browse telling you "Hey, you already own this".

Edit : The added advantage from a Marketing point of view is that you can use lists like that to do multiple things such as "You might be interested in this thing" based on what they do and don't own (for example if they've got nearly all the cossie parts show them the ones they're missing, because they seem to love cossie bits)

Asset updates to fix graphical glitches is the most likely culprit since if there was anything new to be added to the game for next weeks store it could be done next Tuesday anyway.

That's the only reason I personally can think given that they broke the usual Tuesday=Patchday rule with it.

I'd agree with this, my own personal preference is Ice Storm, but only because I love setting up Patches of Doom using a -res patch, some sort of slow patch (or both together with my Illusion/Storm) and Ice Storm.

In any place I've got Ice Storm (Illusion/Storm/Ice controller and an Ice/Time corruptor) I actually have both Ice Storm and Frost Breath for added merriment.

I kind of doubt the Mire thing though, since dwarf Mire is itself a tweaking of Soul Drain, which we know we won't get two of.

I think it'd be nice to have a set that was lower damage, but more survivable (not low damage, but lower damage), and that could work really easily with Dark's theme of siphoning strength from nearby foes.

    (Edited to rephrase something.)

Dwarf Mire is slightly different to Soul Drain / Human form Mire, it's much quicker to recharge but the buff doesn't last as long.

That's what I'm aiming at here, a PBAOE attack but one with the duration of and somewhere around the same damage bonus of Follow-up when you hit 4, 5 or 6 enemies with it.

Something changed enough so it avoids the "cannot have two of the same power" rule. Warshades already break that rule anyway with their 2 Mire variants, and Fire/TA controllers dance along it's line with their Smoke & Flash Arrow combo.
  14. As far as I'm aware Spring Attack won't do any of the AT specific "coded into the power" effects.

In other words it won't Crit, do Containment Damage or Scourge.

Not sure why you wouldn't want to slot Disintegrate for damage anyway, though.
So here's my follow-on question. If this is true (and I suspect it could very well be, it makes more sense as the Spread is most likely coded as a % chance to summon a pseudopet which does the Disintergrate or something, allowing for SCR as per usual) can PROCs from the Spread causing power also be passed onto the affected "spread" mobs?

I'm not sure if it's worthwhile or not given the %s involved, but it's something I've been thinking about (a Devestation in Lancer Shot, although I do still need to also confirm that Lancer is working properly. The Defender version really doesn't seem to cause Spread half the time)

A billion times this. Beam Rifle cost me nothing cos I used my Sub points on it. And in fact I got to spent less of those free subscription points on it cos it was on sale too boot.

If you cannot control your buying impulses and feel like you have to have everything then yes, you'll have to spend extra. However if you're a bit patient and don't need everything RITE NOW then you can probably get all the new sets for free as a VIP going forward.

I'd hope that Dark Assault would instead get a tweaked version of Black Dwarf Mire, in other words their PBAOE is also their "utility" +damage power.

Obviously the +damage would need to be set appropraitely for Domis, but I'd see it working like a PBAOE follow-up / Dwarf Mire hybrid.

Mind you I'm not sure how confident that something like this which would make the set interesting for me will happen. The last Assault Set we got was Earth, which Synapse created, and that got "same-old same-old" Power Boost instead of something thematic like Earths Embrace.

(ie just because two things are different does not make them incomparable)

You paid for Demon Summoning and Dual Pistols. It might have been as part of a bundle as oppose to an a la carte choice but you paid for access to them.

10 quid is a lot to pay for a Set. But 0 because you got points via your subscription isn't. In many cases the real cost of Street Justice is at least partly part of your "subscription bundle"

Well you can, if you know the power names, using [*powername*] in a Chat Channel in the game and then clicking on it. Obviously that's a cumbersome way to go about it though.

Ideally the "Create Character" pages should let you pick a locked set and create with it right up until the last screen where it should block you, then you could check out both the powers stats and the animation and customization options before you commit.

For the moment the best advice is probably "leave it a couple of days and see what people on the forums or mids think".

    2) Blizzard can crit via Scourge and less then 15% means it crits every time.

    3) It would deal 2,027.68 damage unehanced, at the damage cap it would do 5 time this number or 10,138.4.

    10,138.4 -- That would destroy most AV's.

Edit: And lets say you add the corruptor damage debuff so -30% resistance... it would bring this up to 13,179.92 damage.... if an AV was at the resistance cap by being debuffed and with 0 resistance it would do 40, 553.6 DAMAGE.
I was going to argue #1 with you since the Blaster and Corruptor Blizzards are two different summoned pets. Then I went and looked and it turns out that both do the same damage!

So #1 is true, despite them being two separate pet entities. For some reason the Corruptor version has exactly the same damage values as the Blaster Version, but with Scourge also added in. And, as with Rain of Fire, Scourge does twice the damage of the normal ticks, in other words a Scourge damage tick is three times higher than an unscourged. And Ice Storm is the same!

I'm now even more happy I made an Ice/Time Corruptor.

I would suggest 4 purps in phantasm and 2 in pa, then go with ex pets, all with recharge, you can get 3 however with enough recharge and spiritual that will perma pa. The extra, i would use for acc/dmg.
Why would an Illusionist need mez protection? I can understand for a Fire, Elec or Ice Time but an Illusionist really doesn't need it.

Ice is great on an Illusionist as you can just "shut up shop" when threatened and let your pets and pseudopets do the work. Mind you I'd personally take Ice Storm over Frost Breath.

In that line, i see no 'playstyle' for street justice, it feels like a mixup of several styles but not making it into a 'whole set'. (kinda jack of all, master in none).
No offense but isn't that kinda the point of Street Justice? It's meant to be a bit of a mongrel in terms of how it looks and works. It actually reminded me of some Tekken moves & characters (Brian Fury and Bruce mostly)

Not that I'm playing it mind, I reverted to my Ice/Time Corruptor since I figured it'd be good to be a ranged damage / debuff / buff character with all these new SJ Brutes and other meleers (most of the ones I've seen are Brutes) running around.

Beam Rifle sorta falls into the same boat, a nice middle of the pack set (although I still think the last patch forgot Defenders in terms of Spread changes) with some interesting new models/animations and mechanics but not a "Better than all the Free sets" powerset, thankfully.

Pseudo Pets are a special case, because even though they are activated abilities, they inherent the proc, and their own ability(which is passive for them), can trigger the check every 10 seconds.

In short, Pseudo Pets are awesome.
The highlighted bit is true for Distortion Field, but not always true for all Pseudos. It depends on how the Pseudo casts the effect. Lots of them have basically got a PBAOE aura which causes the effect so you get the once every 10 seconds thing (Pseudo life MOD 10 == 0). Most Patches like Distortion Field, Rains, Quicksand, Quake and Caltrops fall into this bracket.

But then you get Pets & Pseudos which actively cast powers on the enemy, most pet attacks, Acid Mortar, Lightning Storm and Volcanic Gases fall into this bracket. Depending on the AOE & rate of fire this can be even better than in the first type of pseudo. For example Gases summons multiple wee geysers which cast holds on people in the area.

Then you've got the freaky outliers with things like Spectral Terror (he's got a Fear PBAOE AND a single-target Fear attack) and Carrion Creepers (an initial patch and lots attack-making pseudo-pets who can proc individually).

So Lockdown checks immediately and then every 10 seconds afterwards on everyone in the AOE.

Spectral Terror is also a nice place for a Fear Damage PROC because it's up every spawn and is slot light, you'll have a once every 10 second check from the toggle and a single-target check every time it "screams" at someone. The knockback Damage proc in Phantasm isn't bad either, it has a chance to go off with any of his 2 NRG attacks. Don't slot the chance for +Recharge though, it's a waste)

Speaking of Distortion field what does a Controllers real numbers say about the duration? I ask because my Corruptors said a 2% change of a 47.5 second duration last night when I checked!!
