Wouldn't 8 Poison Gas Arrows be more useful than trying to apply 16 minor ToHit debuffs?
What's the -Damage cap?* -

Quote:Yes, you can. My Dark/WP Brute did Makos arc but picked Mu as his epic (no way I was going through Sciccaros mass-Mu mission with a WP).Hello
i was looking for the info on the web, but i cant find a truely yes.
Im about to reach 40 on my toon (first one!) and im looking for the patron powers. Thing is that, far as i read since i13, you can only have 1 badge from 1 patrong, but you can select anyway the powers from others?
So, if i do the mission for black scorpion (cause i like the guy) i can select the powers from black widow?
some input will be appreciate.
Thanks. -
Quote:Have they ever said why they don't advertise on tv or anything? I love the mac/pc-style hero/villain commercials on youtube, but I've heard that that's the only place to find them.
Why no advertising? I want to see a wow-like commercial where some washed-up celeb stands there like "I'm (celeb name), and I'm a Zombie Mastermind".
Because it costs lots and lots (and lots) of monies. -
Quote:Don't know if anyone posted it but Posi made an interesting comment during the panel about how once you switch sides you can use whatever Epic set it has. So Redeemed Villains could get APPs, and Fallen Heroes could get Patron sets. Of course, he got a huge facepalm from the Marketing guy for that, so who knows if that's accurate.
There was a marketing guy there? Did ye put him into a giant wickerman frame and sacrifice him to the ancient and primordial gods?
Hmmmm. A Fire/Rad controller with Soul Drain. Hmmmm. -
Quote:Even on PuGs this week I've found myself on a lot of Controller heavy ones. Silliest in terms of buffs was a FF Defender, Illusion/FF, Grav/Kin, Ice/Kin and my Plant/Emp (who didn't know who to put Fort on since we were all so heavily buffed. Opted for the FFers). My defense was somewhere around 65% and Recharge was high enough for perma Creepers. And we were only level 29ish. The Tank was clever enough to start leapfrogging spawns and grabbing extra ones to keep himself occupied while we did horrid things to the ones behind. All controller teams are great! I thing they are better than any other team of all of one AT. I routinely play on all or controller heavy teams with usually defenders rounding out the team. Of course we'll let other ATs tag-a-long too.
* Last night was a little tamer. 3 controllers and 2 defenders I think, me, an Earth/TA, a Fire/Rad, a Sonic/DP and a Kin/Elec and it was still ridiculous. Tonnes of control and debuffage. Then I got map-served for some reason (think the RWZ crashed, couldn't get back in)
Teams on Virtue at the times I play have really shifted from tonnes of DPers to tonnes of Control and Support in the last 3 weeks or so. -
I'm @Carnifax, a former EU sider who has jumped Virtue side in the last few months. The difference in terms of getting teams is staggering.
Loads of alts EU side obviously and the bug is spreading although I'm trying to resist making too many characters. At the mo my main is Bryophyta, a Plant/Empathy controller who I'm enjoying more than I thought I would. No-one has yelled at me for not healing or not having a rez yet (she's now level 34). She's a PuG specialist who hasn't run a single one of her own missions yet, just to see if I can.*
Villain-side I'm still casting around for a character which is new and fun. At the moment I'm playing RuntimeException, an Ice/Psi dominator whose concept is that it's an exceptionally buggy, virus-ridden robot which has a Clockwork Psionic Transmitter fitted to it. So anyone getting close almost shuts down due to the constant wave of psionic spam and Denial of Service attacks eminating from her. Bit of a slog at the moment but hopefully she'll start to bloom in her 20s.
At the mo I'm on most nights (about 21:00 BST onwards) and will be looking for a compatible SG/VG soon as well but given my relatively weird playtimes it's tricky to find a Group with events running at times which suit. Got a 3 year old and another en route so finding playtime can be tough, especially at weekends. -
A few of these are running about alright. Saw a heroic one(!) called God Killer or something during the week, Dual Blades were involved thankfully. I suppose it's the time for it really given GOW 3s release.
When Series 1 of Heroes was out there were so many oddball Cheerleader knockoffs running about Union, it was rather funny. Never any pudgy psychic ex-policemen though. -
So you have more than one character now? Hurrah! Good for you. (yes, I know they're probably still the same one cloned).
You should try different characters. Seriously, surely Golden Girl needs a sidekick or something? Some of the other sets and playstyles out there are truly wonderful. (I've even taken to playing an Empath recently. Something I'd previously avoided for the good of myself and others). -
Personally I'd like to see a Debuff set sitting between Poison and Rad with some interesting mechanics nicked from things like Chain Induction, Carrion Creepers and other oddball powers. I'd guess it would disease or plague based, maybe slanted towards being able to stack -damage effects more than other debuff sets.
* So lots of the debuffs would be like Chain Induction ones, single target with a change of jumping to other targets. Have a -Perception/-ToHit one which affects the senses and a Weaken style one which does -Damage, Slow and -Defense.
Other effects would be like something nicked from Dragon Age, a single target infection (similiar to something like Acid Arrow but switch the -defense for -damage again) but if the opponent dies the body explodes into a minor damage, -damage and -resist AOE.
Leveraging the Carrion Creepers mechanics a pseudopet which uses bodies in some way, maybe by throwing out intense, short duration +Regen and +Recovery AOE buffs for each body it "consumes".
* Some sort of placeable object which does a wide area debuff when triggered (something like a Trip Mine or Time Bomb / Oil Slick combo so it would either go off itself in some way or be shootible to do so) would also be interesting.
Obviously there's a lot of holes in there and no numbers but I'd like the idea of a Debuff set with fairly unique ways of working with a good spread of -Damage effects. It'd be a chunk of work though as more complex powers like these have had issues in the past (and some still do) in terms of working properly, especially with things like PROCs. -
Quote:I've been waiting on Tirumph for an hour now, and you've not shown up - or even sent a /tell - and now it's way too late to start an ITF
Wait, what? Are you US side now as well?
Does this mean you've actually got 2 characters now?*
I'm betting they're both MA/Regen though? -
I'm currently trying to make my way through the teens with 2 different Doms. Having tried various combos I'm left wishing I'd gone Mind/Fire or Plant/Psi really.
*I tried Mind in the past (Mind/Psi) before the Dom changes and Mind is a very good early Dominator set, all the single target controls work well with a Dom. But I'm not convinced Psi suits it well. From trying Fire separately (on an Earth/Fire) I think Fire is an ideal combo for Mind. Lots of range, lots of control (with easily the best single target control) and lots of varied damage.
My Plant controller is a beast and a Plant/Psi would be an amazing combo, especially post-22 (I've currently got a wee teen Ice/Psi who is alright but a complete End hog at the mo. Arctic Air < Seeds of Confusion). Plant/Fire would be even better in terms of creating a wasteland where once there was a spawn. If I hadn't got a Plant Controller I'd almost certainly be rolling a Plant/Fire.
Seeds is so good I'm worried it's due a rebalancing / normalizing back to a 90 second recharge 11.8 second duration power. At the moment it's recharge is 60 seconds and it's duration 24 which is well off any other "secondary AOE mez" in the control sets (other than Terrorize, but Fear is a weaker control than Confuse).
* Ice/Psi is what I'm actually trying to play at the mo (and Earth/Fire but I don't like the playstyle, they're 2 really good powersets but I like some sort of synergy to make powersets 'click' for me). Think I took Arctic Air way too early and I'm suffering because of it slightly but post 22 he should be pretty tough. -
Cheers for the info WW. Wish it was a bit more concrete but what can you do. Think I'll stick to the US side for Going Rogue now, I'll just have to make sure I don't alt too much so I've got a character available for Incarnates when they come along.

Quote:They look very, very like the doggie thing from the first Hellboy movie in fact.I wish we could get rid of those cattle heads. The rest of Demon Summoning looks great.
Rather big and bulky too, when they go live Villains is going to be City of Door Blocking for a bit. -
Pffft. Anyone paying attention knows the "stick a vowel in front of words" fad tends to change every few years. We had eEverything around 2000 and iEverything once Apple took over the world.
So the smart money is on u being the next hot prefix.*

I'm pretty sure that Singularity needs to be summoned on a bit of ground, as does Traps FFG. Which is bizarre as both float around happily.
Phantom Army can and should always be summoned in the air so that they end up on each others shoulders like some circus act. -
Not the kitten of doom. I don't deserve that!
I haven't played EU side for over 6 months now. Took a Bioware related break and when I came back I decided getting actual red-side teams rather than soloing made a lot of sense. Blue-side Virtue is like the game was when I started 4 years ago. Nice to do a /sea and see the zone list getting truncated. -
Quote:The idea of letting people find existing teams is good. The problem is how to implement it. I think a better interface is to let the team leader set a flag whether the team is lfm or not. If the team is lfm, then the leader can be found through a filter in the search window.
This would be the correct way to implement this. Allow leaders to specify whether their team shows up as LFM or not.*
I've been wanting this for years now. -

I was on a team on Saturday night which was 4 controllers and a defender : 1 bored Emp which was me (happily I am Plant/Emp so still had loads to do), 2 FF (1 defender and one controller) and 2 Kin Support sets. And some other guys of some sort, I forget what they were. Tanks or something, they started running off to other spawns after a while so they had something to do.*
I'd never understood the term Force Multiplier properly until then. Talk about God Mode. And this was only late 20s as well. -
We'd better get Glow Sticks as a glove option...

Quote:* The pet isn't particularly weak. It is particularly dense though. Probably the worst pet I've had in terms of "stand there and plink with your single-target power". My Plant/Emp buffs the damn thing up to it's eyeballs (if it had them) and it still cowers behind me plinking away. I know it uses its cone too, but because it tends to stand right back it doesn't really use it well.I assume you mean fire kills faster post 32 (with your pets)?
I think that Plant is a great starter set for the OP to try as the early controls really give a feel for the whole "Controller" idea.
Yes you do rely on Seeds alot, but since it works so well with the exception of the two types of enemy's that you mentioned I would not really consider that a weakness, espically when you pair it with Rad, if they resist your Immob or Seeds you can still debuff and use your 2x damage AoE and Vines and Creepers to do the job, and you still have the sleep if you took it.
The pet is not that weak IMHO, again debuff whatever it's fighting and it will be fine.
PLANT..
Besides, nothing is better then confusing a pile of mobs and then rooting them to death
So much for Castles "Pet AI fix" (aka the Recharge nerf which really sucks for an Emp).
* Plant is awesome though. Creepers is an amazing power and Seeds is so good that people seem to forget they also get a ranged AOE Hold too. I always feel bad if I'm teamed with an Ice or Earth controller though as you're pretty much guarenteed that you'll be messing up their knockdown patches, even if you hold off Roots. Earth at least has other options but I always feel bad for Ice. -

Quote:You also need to hope she doesn't play CoH or she might be surprised to see that she's appeared on the boards as a woo-ee target.Well, obviously I don't know her well enough to say that I love her, but I think she's very nice. She's gorgeous, too, with a heart-breaking smile. Every day before work I stop off at the restaurant where she works (its in the building I do most of my teaching at) for a single coffee. *Our chat has reached the stage where today she asked me if I worked in the building. Patently I need to find out whether she's single or not before wooing can commence!
Any advice appreciated. I also eat lunch here, so I have to be able to keep going there if the wooing plan fails.*
She's European, btw.

Wait, I should have pretended to be her. Drat!
