Quote:Indeed. I hope the Devs brought a raft of good answers to his question in preparation for the EUs anniversaries meet-and-greet.Well to be honest The EU servers should be added to the NA server list so we can all game together. This artificially created schism between us is a load of crap.
Hell at the moment I'd settle for one subscription allowing to access both sides and keeping the server lists separate if it's such a technical issue. -
Quote:I've seen a few of these too, one on a Citadel TF we took part on. Didn't think they should have been kicked but did feel like shouting "Why did you take 2 Rezzes and skip Fort!!" but kept it bottled in and instead basked in the warm knowledge that my Plant/Emp kicked their arses in terms of contributing to the team.Only boot I've ever done was on a "concept character" over on Defiant, Empath Fender with no buffs. At all. Only heals, including the Med pool for some reason.
They dropped halfway through the last mission and no-one noticed until after the AV was down. Then we got the "stuck TF" bug and some of us repeated the last mission without the Tank, the Warshade just ran at Vandal instead.
That TF ruled (I got a Miracle Unique with the first roll as well just to cap it all off, so all those monotonous Council Bases were worth it). -
Quote:* ^This basically. You're not really supposed to be SOed out at the moment you hit 22, you're supposed to gradually fit them in.I am sorry if you are taking it that way but the simple facts are you are not getting it.
Level 22 is not the game. That is the start of SOs. We could afford SOs by the low 30s but not at 22. There was no leaping from 16% to 33% enhancements for all slots and all powers possible without sugar daddies.
You are the one assigning all the rules to determine the situation is broken.
You are expecting to replace all TOs/DOs with DOs/SOs immediately upon reaching levels 12 and 22 which was never possible playing it on our own. These are not the bare essentials at those levels any more than TOs are at level 1.
You refuse to use the markets to enhance your character because you insist that you should not have to use the new option available only for the past 3 years not the first 3 years.
The game isn't broken. Your understanding or expectations are.
Nowadays it's ridiculously easy to do so thanks to various methods, but it's still not the expected norm.
Quote:1. I keep forgetting you play on the EU servers (you do, right?), and I don't know if we share a Market with you, guys. If we don't, then I can see how that would suck big time. If we DO, however, you have options.
I don't understand TBAs points at all really. On one hand they WANT IT NAO in regards to SOs but on the other they're not willing to go through the easy steps in order to achieve it. It takes about 4 mins marketing at the start and end of a play sessions to set yourself up to make half a million or so. That's ignoring selling your own drops altogether and just bidding low on suitable level 50 recipies at the end of one session and vendoring them at the start of the next.
If you've some objection to that for whatever reason my alternative (or parallel) was to run some fun MA intro arcs, convert the tickets into Bronze Rolls and sell them. Hell you could just use tickets to buy the DOs/SOs in question if you really are allergic to the market (although I'm pretty sure TBA uses IOs extensively at the end game going on other posts).
Quote:Why not change the worthless (admittedly they're worthless imo) minor mez resistances (like 2% immobilize resistance in melee sets), and the debt protection set bonuses, and replace them with more +END bonuses?

Quote:I've a robot Dominator called RuntimeException who's whole concept is that it was jury-rigged with a Clockwork Psi Transmitter and is so badly coded and bug ridden that anyone getting close gets their minds overwhelmed with psionically transmitted spam, DOS attacks, infinite loops and overflow errors. They end up running away slowly, *randomly attacking others, frozen in place or falling over (he's an Ice/Psi).*I like to roleplay that its errors in the programming. I have a battle drone named Glitch who's powerfully stupid as well.
::shrug:: oh well.
* Of course I can't blame the suicidal love of running into melee range on the Pet AI.* -
QR, wouldn't mind being acknowledged on the US server with the 4+ years I spent EU side. Tis damn annoying losing them because I decided to move from being loyal to Paragon Studios and NCSoft to being loyal to Paragon Studios & NCSoft.
Obviously I knew about it before I switched and weighed it up. It's still a nuisance though.* -
I suppose, but not really to a massive extent. Neither is what I'd usually consider powerful force multiply buffs/debuffs. -Recharge caps fairly quickly anyway and -Defense isn't the most sought after of debuffs, people tend to be well slotted anyway.

Quote:Unfortunately most of the advice there I do, including forming my own teams occasionally.AA has the full dissertation, so I'll defer to that.
But if I don't get six blind invites when I login, it's a rare day. And on that day, if I want to do some pugging, I form my own team. Within a minute, I'm always turning people away at full capacity.
SGs are the only thing I don't do, thanks to my weird playtimes, relatively speaking.
Quote:Test server has been packed... not a coincidence that overall Live activity is down and some of the more active players in particular are quiet. -
Warshades are great additions to a team, but they aren't force multipliers, at least not in the way I understand the term.
-
Quote:And the solution? I genuinely want to know how other people go about it. I tend to use the channels a bit as well and given the pre-i17 lull it's sorta frustrating at the moQuery: When you're "trying to get on a team," are you just standing around spamming a channel or broadcast with "$level $archetype looking for team"?
If so, I think I can see your problem.
I've made a fair few villain teams over the last few weeks but that gets tiresome too. Do you send tells to one or two people in teams via the Search window or how do you go about it? -
Quote:I said "for the most part". I've certainly never come across it anything like as much as it seems to pop up on the forums.Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't make it a myth. I've been kicked twice for my power selections, none of which was when I was shooting with my MM...
Quote:Silly? My MM attacks are as strong as my Tier 3 henchman's attacks. And since I've usually taken /traps as my secondary, once those are set then I start shooting things. I keep the shooting to a secondary role, but I do shoot. It's a lot more fun. -
I've never managed to be kicked from any team at all. I've played an Illusion/Storm (she did used to get told not to use Freezing Rain by Herding Tanks back in i4 but thankfully they seem to have died out), a Warshade (who doesn't want a WS on a team? *boggle*), a Grav/TA controller (got more "Cool choice of sets" and "Nice control" tells than anything else) and currently a Plant/Emp lacking a rez or big heal.
I think the boot myth is just that for the most part.
I do get miffed if the team is struggling and there's people doing silly things which aren't helping (MMs focusing on shooting over support, someone negating another persons abilities mindlessly for no good reason), but a gentle "Hey, lets try this instead" usually does the trick without people getting upset. -
Quote:I was at 100 health when I entered the mission. 1 yellow lt and 6 white minions prompted the use of a respite.
The ma/sd scrapper is set at +0/x2 yes bosses, no AVs
The point stands, Sam. Defeating a single spawn will reduce my endurance so far that I am unable to take on the following spawn without completely running dry on end unless I either eat insps like skittles or rest/wait between spawns.
This is not an aberration. This is common. Do I sprint between spawns? Yes. Do I slot an end-red in every attack? Yes. (Exceptions being truly low end attacks like claws-swipe) Do all toggles get an end-red? Yes. (One exception being Deflection which must be slotted for both defense and dam-res)
Do I finish missions anyway? Of course. That's not in question. Obviously I do or I wouldn't be getting to 22.
It's just a matter of nuisance. Nothing more, nothing less. Will it be changed? I seriously doubt it.
What it IS doing is making me seriously consider powerleveling a farmer on my brother's account to powerlevel all future lowbies on my account past the PITA levels. EDIT: Regardless of how distasteful I find that process.
A lot of teen characters I've had go through the same thing to some extent. My Stone/Fire Brute (DOed with just Acc and End everywhere) was truly horrific and needed to Buff Farm the AE just to get me to 22 so I could deal with it. -
-
Do you have enough actual attacks in that build? It looks like a farming build or something. Actually it looks like a pre-Psi changes farming build which relies too much on Psi Shockwave, which has since been balanced downwards in favour of Psi Scream and Telekinetic Thrust.

Quote:"Literally, a bandwagon is a wagon which carries the band in a parade, circus or other entertainment."Could be a bandwagon, I suppose. But the chief point is that none of the individuals on it care if anyone else is on it or not (which is to say, whether it's popular or not popular doesn't matter).
Here.
Yay. I was right. Roll out the "Carni was right" bandwagon.
...
What do you mean it doesn't exist?
This whole thread reminds me of Marges "Am I cool kids" bit from the Homerpoluza epsiode of the Simpsons to be honest.*
I don't see the point (which of course makes me cool. Until I point it out.... damn!) -
Given the lack of any information about what you think should be in the set and what would make it different to say Willpower or Invulnerability (both of which would make fine Reptile sets) adding more reptile cossies and just choosing one of those two sets (or Regen or whatever else you fancied trying out) instead would seem to be to be a far more flexible solution.
-
Quote:Reptile armor. Discuss. Personally i think making the toggles add the look of a reptile to the character would be badass.
Like coating yourself in small reptiles for defense? Won't PETA get upset?*
At the moment you could do this using different cossie sets, a CC emote and either Invunerablity or Willpower as the Defense set. More lizard/reptile/dinosaur costume pieces would be nice though. -
So now everyone's on the "I do what I want" bandwagon instead? Or is that a series of individual bandwagons? A flotilla of bandwagons?
What IS a bandwagon anyway? Some sort of parade float?* -
Quote:Controllers control their enemies and Dominators dominate them. For the most part not having control over controller pets is fine, one less thing to worry about, but Planties AI is terrible altogether.True, I've never understood how a class called "Controllers" missed out on ...... Controls...
I mean think about it, if you have a minion that goes into battle with you then just wanders off and gets into crap and keeps doing things other than what you tell it, why would you keep bringing it into battle with you?
Now im not saying all pets should get full MM control suites or bodyguard mode, but Attack my Target, Goto, Stay, and Follow would be perfectly fine for pets to come with. It wouldn't break the class and has been an sought after feature for quite awhile now.
I would like there to be an option for a MM to switch AI scripts so we can try and choose one that suits them (I think different pets have different AI scripts, but not sure how many or varied they are). -
At least you can order your pets about. It's fairly trivial to order a Bruiser or Grave Knights into melee using the Goto command.
Have a thought for Plant Controllers and their idiotic pea-brained pet. It's a total moron and there's nothing you can do about it. -
Quote:If you've got Eclipse slotted for Damage Resistance and are running it along with Human form shields or bubbles then it basically caps after 3 or 4 enemies hit anyway, that's why you don't see any difference between 3 and 8 targets.Everyone says eclipse is "godlike" and "ZOMGawesomesause!!!111!"
Honestly, I can't tell the difference when it is working and when it isn't. If I hit three or 8 or none. Can't tell a dang thing is different.
Mire, I can see bigger numbers. Not big enough that it reduces the number of attacks to kill a minion, but I can see bigger numbers.
Eclipse? Nothing. I don't run out of endurance all that fast without it, so with it I don't see how I'm supposed to tell. Damage coming in is only an issue with spikes and spikes hurt even with capped regeneration. So overall, the power is just "meh" to me.
But with it capping you can take over 4 times more damage than vs just running human form shields. That's why it's so awesome. -
Or "starting a self destruction count-down, blowing yourself to little pieces and then getting better".*
-
I thought powers in CoH brought one back from the very brink of death, not from beyond the grave?
Sorry. I'm no fun am I? -
Nope. It can never self-stack. It'd be ridiculously overpowered if it could since it fires every 5 seconds or so.

Quote:As is it just seems a bit dull to me compared to other suggestions for new ATs in this forum. Given that there's plenty of suggestions for new ATs cropping up all the time on the forums, I'm just saying there's not much here which makes it unique or stand out compared to some of them. The AT is for dealing damage!
It would exist to put a smile on your face while doing the above!
Does there need to be another reason, it is after a game?
It needs some zing IMO, something to make it stand out more compared to those other suggestions for new ATs, and to stand out against ones already in the game.
